May 5: We Will All Be Tested
Once we know exactly what we want, we will have to prove it. We will be tried. We will be tested. Will you do the work that produces the results you know you want, consistently, until you get the results you want, or will you slip back into the comfortable habits of the same life you have always lived?
New things, beliefs, perspectives, habits, results, and actions, can be scary. The unknown can be viewed as a terrible, frightening trip. It can also be viewed as an adventure in learning, experimenting, teaching, and doing. It can be exhilarating and exciting! The journey, the destination, and what we accomplish, will be dependent upon our attitude of mind, our current belief system, and our personal philosophy. The better we know and think, the better we are capable of doing.
Once we have made a decision that we know will make a difference, we must stick to it! If we rest, take a few days off, or falter, it is not the end of the world. We can start again. We can choose to keep going until we accomplish the results we want to.
We can rest, but WE MUST NOT UNRAVEL. Momentum is the name of the game when it comes to personal progress.
Reminder to self: Keep going. Keep doing what you are doing. Improve every day in some small way. Every moment is an opportunity to BEGIN AGAIN.
Today’s challenge for myself: Today I will do what I know I need to do to stay on track, or I will do what I need to do to get back on track. I will keep at it. I will not quit. I will not give up.
Criss Angel is an excellent example of persistence:
Life Is the Sacred Test (and You Were Born Ready)
Life is no accident, no cruel maze of chance—
It is a sacred test, written in light
long before your feet kissed the Earth.
A divine challenge cloaked in forgetfulness,
so that you could remember
how infinite you truly are.
The trials are not punishments,
but invitations—
to rise, to burn brighter,
to unlock the codes you hid within
the chambers of your soul.
Every shadow is a mirror,
every detour, a hidden door
to the strength you thought you’d lost
but had merely wrapped in silence.
You are not here to be broken.
You are here to awaken.
To meet the fires
not with fear,
but with the knowing:
“I am forged for this.”
Within you lives the spark of stars,
the memory of ancestors who walked through storms
with nothing but hope as armor
and faith as compass.
The Universe does not test the unworthy—
Only those who are already strong enough to triumph.
And that means you.
Especially you.
So when the path narrows,
when the night grows long,
remember:
you are the answer the test was waiting for.
And you were always meant to pass.

May 4: Have A Destination In Mind
I used to drive a cab. I loved driving cab. I met all kinds of different people, and for someone who genuinely loves people and always tries to see the humanity and the positive side in everyone simultaneously, it was sort of a dream job. It was interesting, fun, and sometimes, a challenge.
There was only one type of customer I disliked: The person who would get into my cab and have no idea what their destination was. They would assume they knew an address, a city, or a place they wanted to go, but they wouldn’t be sure about it. By the end of the trip, which usually led exactly back to where we started, they would be angry, I would be frustrated, and nothing was accomplished. It cost them money and time, both of which most people value a great deal.
Reminder to self: Life is the exact same way. If you don’t know exactly where you are going, it will cost you money and time. It will frustrate and anger you and the people around you. Nothing will be accomplished.
The Universe cannot very easily conspire on our behalf if WE don’t even know what we want or where we are going.
Have an exact destination in mind. Know exactly who you want to be, exactly what you want to accomplish, and exactly where you are going.
If you aim at NOTHING, you will hit it, every time.
Today’s challenge for myself: I will write down my exact vision for my future, of how I envision it to be 10 years from now. I will be as detailed as possible about exactly what I want. If I already have such a list, I will review it and modify it, if needed.
Here are a few incredibly helpful videos, with specific instructions on visualization and goal-setting:
“To have a destination in mind is to give your spirit a star to sail by. Without it, even the most powerful vessel may drift in circles, lost upon the ocean of possibility. When you focus on what you do want, you align your entire being—your thoughts, emotions, and actions—with creation itself. You become a co-architect of reality, not merely a passive observer.
To focus on what you do not want is to feed the very thing you wish to dissolve. Energy flows where attention goes. The universe, impartial and exact, responds to your vibration—not your resistance. Resistance is a magnet, pulling near what you fear. Intention is a compass, guiding you toward what you love.
Hold the image of your highest destiny. Speak to it. Feed it. Trust it. And you shall not only reach it—you shall become it.
With clarity, your path awakens.”

May 9: Work
“I have molded my life around the fact that work is the best way to move people out of poverty and that work is at the core of human dignity, but that’s not all that there is.” – Leila Janah
In order to improve our own lives, and the lives of those around us, we have to take charge, make good decisions, and work like it all depends on us.
There is something about working like it ALL depends on US that creates within us a high level of credibility, grows our self-confidence, capabilities, strength, hope, and faith. Having something to do and somewhere to go gets us out of our own minds and into motion. When it comes to starting the day out right, it’s all about momentum.
When we win the morning, we win the entire day.
Hal Elrod has a great recipe for success that centers around not only working hard, but also working smart. He is worth researching on YouTube.
Have you ever NOT had a job, purpose for the day or the week, or had anything you had to do? Do you remember how you felt? Doesn’t it make you grateful for the times when you DID have a job to do and you did it well? I have been in both situations, and I know which one made me feel better!
Today’s challenge for myself: Today I will make the time to listen to this interview with Leila Janah, and work on building:
