May 18: You Are Better Than You Think

Reminder to self:  Results don’t lie.  Results require action.  Any action taken is better than no action at all.  Slow and steady wins the race.  If you are taking an action, no matter how difficult or seemingly meaningless, and you know it will yield good results, keep at it.  Take that action consistently.  Allow the momentum an opportunity to build through consistency.  No matter what, don’t quit.  A year from now you will look back, see how far you have come because you never gave up and you kept at it, and you will realize how incredible you are.  Your confidence will grow.  You will earn tons of credibility with yourself.  Your talent and skills will have grown along with your experience.  You will realize that the action became easier with repetition.  Keep going and the momentum will carry you.

We ALL ride the wave of momentum we create through consistency.  Where that wave takes us, and how far, is entirely OUR responsibility.

You can become stronger.  You can become wiser.  You can become better.

There is a sign at our gym that I love:

EFFORT IS 100% YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

No matter what it is, if you know it will yield good results, do it!  Do it regularly, consistently, and as well as you can.  You will realize you are better than you think.

When we consistently do our best,

our best consistently becomes better.

Today I will look back at the last five years and think on something I did consistently, realize how good I became at it, and know that I can do that with anything I desire to get good at.  I will think of something I can work on that will benefit me in some way and I will push and challenge myself to do that one thing regularly, consistently, and as well as I can.

May 17: Take A Chance

“You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.”  -Jim Carrey

What do YOU love?  What do you want MORE of in YOUR life?  What EXACTLY would it take to make that happen?

WHAT WE FOCUS ON, WE FEED.

Today I will take a chance on doing something I love.

May 16: Beliefs

Our beliefs are what ultimately determine our results and outcomes within our personal reality.  The quality of our beliefs directly correlate with the quality of our results and outcomes.

“Too often, children are taught WHAT to think, instead of HOW to think.”

-John Earl Shoaff

Our Self Image, our thoughts, our inner voice, and what we focus on are so important, and all of these things come from our beliefs, which are deeply imbedded within our subconscious mind.

The interesting thing is, WHATEVER we choose to believe, we easily and quickly can find the proof to back it all up, so why not choose beliefs that are empowering, creative, enlightening, and energizing?  We are 100% responsible as individuals to choose the beliefs that can only result in the EXACT life we want.  Repetition results in reprogramming the subconscious mind and in MASTERY of new ways.

Beliefs are simply a thought that we choose to repeat.  Why not choose to consistently repeat the best, most empowering thoughts?

Once we know what our results need to be in our lives in order for us to feel happy and fulfilled, we will know which beliefs we need to adopt, have, repeat, and hold near and dear to our hearts, in order to become the person that deserves the results that we want.  We reprogram our subconscious minds through repetition.

Beliefs and perspectives about ourselves, others, how to react in any given situation, and about life and the world in general, play a MASSIVE role in our results.  Our beliefs become the filters through which we judge EVERYTHING, and how we see it all.  Our beliefs determine the quality of meanings and definitions we assign to ALL OF IT.

Reminder to self:  Decide what your most important beliefs are.  Which ones will be the most helpful and effective in helping you accomplish that which you desire?  Which beliefs are destructive, dis-empowering, and a discouraging waste of time and energy?  What possible upgrades can be repeated in their place?

You can have so many beliefs that you become distracted.  It’s sometimes called, “Spreading yourself too thin”.  When we focus only on the MOST important things, only on what we DO want, all of the things that DON’T matter and all of the things we DON’T want will naturally and easily fall out of our lives.  Only the best of everything that we want and choose to focus on will remain, and because of our focus, everything will effortlessly fall into place.  That is just the way it works.

To think about something is to energize it with our attention.  When we stop thinking about something, we deactivate and de-energize it.  To stop thinking about something is to simply think about something else.  When we are INTENTIONAL and PURPOSEFUL about what we choose to think about and energize with our attention, life can become MIRACULOUS!

WE ONLY FEED WHAT WE FOCUS ON.

Stop thinking so much, and start doing.

Today’s challenge for myself:  Today I will determine which beliefs are most helpful and effective for my success and focus on them.  The goodinthehead Beliefs Project can and will help immensely with this, if you let it.  GOOGLE IT.

We are MEANING-MAKING MACHINES.
“There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” -Shakespeare
Our mind is a projector that creates, manifests, and attracts all that is in alignment with our INNER world and renders it as a perceivable physical reality within this matrix that we exist in for our personalized human experience.
We are 100% responsible for EVERYTHING that we attract, create, manifest, and project into reality.
Don’t like or enjoy how things are going?  CHANGE IT.  Don’t wait to be saved and see yourself as a victim.  CHANGE IT!  It all starts on the INSIDE, with our beliefs, perspectives, and perceptions, and knowing that 95% of all we create comes from the automatic programming of the subconscious is USEFUL INFO.  We can reprogram the subconscious mind through repetition…
The question then becomes: WHAT DO YOU WANT MORE OF RIGHT NOW?  Focus ONLY on THAT-think about it, talk about it, and BE about it 24/7-and it will manifest!  Or, just allow the distractions of life to run you-the choice is yours, and yours alone.
When we take back our power-the power and energy of our minds, our focus, and our attention, we create BETTER.  We LIVE better…
We are not VICTIMS of circumstance.  We are VICTORS.  We are the CREATORS of EVERYTHING.

May 15: Practice What You Preach

I learned LONG ago that children don’t learn by listening to what we SAY.  They learn how to BE by WATCHING WHAT WE DO, then they usually mirror those behaviors.

When we are the kind of person that does what they say they are going to do, good things happen.  We build up credibility with ourselves and others.  We become trustworthy, predictable, and dependable.  Whether we like it or not, realize it or not, and want it or not, everyone watches to see if we will do what we say we are going to do.  WE, especially, pay attention to whether or not we will do what we say.  Our self image is strengthened and weakened by the promises we DO or DON’T keep.

CONSISTENCY COUNTS

It is through consistency that we become predictable, reliable, and dependable.

CONSISTENCY CREATES A CONVERSION AND A CONVERGENCE OF CIRCUMSTANCES THAT WILL STIMULATE SYNCHRONICITIES, RESULTING IN AN ALIGNMENT WITH THE PRACTICES AND HABITS WE EXECUTE AND A BEAUTIFUL LIFE OF LOVE, ACCEPTANCE, BEAUTY, PROSPERITY, SAFETY, COMFORT, AND STRENGTH, DEPENDING UPON OUR CURRENT PRACTICES AND HABITS.

Some watch and see to find an opportunity to criticize us or put us down:  “See!  I told you that you wouldn’t do it!”

Others look to us for motivation or inspiration:  “Wow-that was great.  Good job!  Well, if you/he/she can do it, so can I!”

Others look to us as an example, or we look to others as an example:  “That’s cool.  That is how I want to try being, so I can have similar results, outcomes, and experiences.”

The most important people watching us to see if we are going to do what we say we are going to do is ourselves.  Why?

When we don’t do what we say we are going to do, it is a small, personally-perceived failure.  That inner voice acts like the group that would criticize us or put us down:  “See!  I told you that you wouldn’t do it!  You are such a loser!  You never do what you say you are going to do!  You might as well stop doing what you say you are going to do, altogether!  Everyone would be better off without you around!”  It is destructive.  It is counter-productive.  It harms our spirit, our soul, our ego, our life energy, our confidence, and our will power.  It takes the wind out of our sails and provides the false belief that we can’t, that we aren’t good, and that we aren’t ENOUGH, just the way we are.  It creates a negative, weakened, destroyed, and broken, false self-image, and a set of negative beliefs and perspectives about ourselves.  It erodes and destroys our self confidence, disempowering our creative process and depleting us of necessary energy and desire to create something even better.

On the other hand, when we do what we say we are going to do, it is a small success.  These small successes STACK UP.  All these smaller successes compile, joining energetic forces that can only result in an optimized set of life experiences.  We continuously build credibility with ourselves.  That inner voice acts like the group that would look to us for motivation or inspiration:  “Wow-that was great.  Good job!  Now that you have done it this one more time, I know you can do it again!  You are strong.  You are amazing.  You are a great example to yourself and others of what success is and what it looks like!  Keep it up!”  It is creative.  It is productive.  It is energizing. It builds up and strengthens our spirit, our soul, our ego, our life energy, our confidence, and our will power.  It adds wind to our sails, empowering us with more and more momentum, motivates and inspires us from within, and provides the true belief that we can, and that we are capable.  We earn even more self confidence.  It creates a positive, helpful image and a set of positive, strengthening beliefs about ourselves.

Most importantly, children watch us.  The little ones who need to learn from us are watching-especially when we least expect it.  They look to see how WE handle judgements and criticisms.  They observe us to see how WE handle stress, anxiety, depression, and difficult challenges.  They look to see how to BE in this world through the examples of the people they are around the most-ESPECIALLY the people in their lives who they depend upon for the MOST  important things like safety, survival, love, compassion, kindness, validation, empathy, understanding, acceptance, and forgiveness.

It is useful to do what we say we are going to do.  We can choose to practice what we preach.

Which bucket are you going to work on filling today?  The I can bucket, or the I can’t bucket?  What are you going to create, perpetuate, and energize today, with your energy, time, attention, and focus?  What will you choose to project out into the world and thereby render your reality?

Today’s challenge for myself:  Today, I will do everything in my power to practice what I preach and do what I say I am going to do.

*When our self-respect is low, our character is weak.  Bad thinking will then lead to bad moods and bad decisions.  Bad decisions will erode our self-confidence and lower our self-respect, depleting our energy and resulting in even more horrible moods.  It is a never-ending cycle, until we decide to break it.

May 14: Results Don’t Lie

Take an honest look at yourself.  Are you where you want to be in your life?  Do you have what you want?  Do you live where you want to?  Do you make the money you desire to make?  Are you the kind of person you imagined yourself to be three years ago?  Results don’t lie.  All we have and all we are as humans are the direct results of the choices we have made.  If we want different results, all we need to do is CONSISTENTLY take different actions and make different choices.  The capability of doing this comes from what we believe about ourselves, and how we think and feel.

This is a hard truth that not many people like to hear or face.  It is sometimes difficult to accept full responsibility for all of the results of our own life, especially when things aren’t going well.  When we do, however, we begin the process of building credibility with ourselves and others.  Personal accountability results in Self Awareness and EMPOWERMENT.  The more we do about it, the more our self-confidence grows.  People begin to respect and trust us more, and we also tend to respect ourselves more, and we learn to trust our own judgement.  These are things that are earned with time, consistent efforts, and practiced discipline.

Regression and Contraction = Regret

Progress and Expansion = Happiness

Each moment of every day, we are either going one way or the other.  Our trajectory is ENTIRELY up to US.

To identify as a LEARNER, to adopt new practices, habits, beliefs, and perspectives, and then to implement and integrate them CONSISTENTLY is to constantly upgrade, optimize, and change our results.  THIS IS MEANT TO BE A LIFE-LONG PROCESS.  We are here to experience and learn all we possibly can.

To have an education and to know things is USELESS, unless we take actions relevant to the knowledge acquired that produces the results that were the entire reason for acquiring the education and knowledge in the first place.

RESULTS DON’T LIE.

EFFORT is what creates results, and WE are 100% responsible for our efforts.

The shift of change in our lives starts small.  It can literally start with simply thinking different thoughts.

What are the exact results that YOU want for YOURSELF?  Where do you want to be in a year?  In ten years?  What are the exact results you desire?  It is okay to dream incredibly big.  It is important to have a detailed vision of everything we want to create for ourselves and the people we love.

Christina Archer shared this on her Instagram feed:

We can reverse engineer ANY success, break it down into daily tasks, and accomplish ANYTHING we choose.

WE ARE HERE TO LEARN TO PRACTICE BEING BETTER CREATORS.

Now it is time to prove it.  What small, incremental, daily, consistent changes can you make to get the results you want in the next three years?  Now is the time to decide what you will do consistently, every single day, in order to make it happen.

Every action we take is the child of a thought.  Every action we take creates the reality we live; therefore, ALL we are in human form, all we have, all we create, and how we live life, is the product of what we think and how we feel about what we think.  WE CHOOSE our thoughts.  WE choose our feeling states.  WE CREATE AND PROJECT our personal realities.

How we start our day, including the methods we use and the level at which we prime ourselves to show up, begin in the very first moments of the day, creates momentum, and fashions a blueprint of feeling power, which will be used the entire rest of the day.

Today, if I haven’t already, I will make a checklist of smaller, easy things I can commit to on a daily basis.  I will remember it is important to start small and keep things simple and easy, adding one thing at a time until it is a habit, and gain momentum and confidence as I go along.

Check out this incredibly helpful way to implement habits and build a personal, unique, individualized, and optimal morning routine:

May 13: Generosity

Giving to others absolutely grows our soul and helps us heal.  Giving is part of the creative energy that requires us to focus on the positive, creative, hopeful, kind, generous and loving parts of us.  While giving to others, in any way, be it gifts, money, items, a smile, or time, we create within ourselves more generosity, strength, abundance, and room to receive.  I don’t know why, but the more we give, the more we get back.  That is just the way it works.  If you don’t believe me, try it out!

I have a sister who gives, and gives, and gives.  She and her husband are always doing something for others.  You would think they would run out of things to give, time to give, and energy to give, because they give so much.  Somehow, the more things they give to others, and the more time she gives to others, the more energy they have and the more things they have been blessed with in their life.  They are wealthy financially, spiritually, socially, emotionally, and physically.  They live a meaningful, fulfilling, beautiful life, with many connections and people who love them and would do absolutely anything for them.  Things always seem to work out for them. and they swear that because they give so much, they now enjoy this incredibly beautiful life of abundance.

It’s just the way it works.  Try it out and see if it works for you.

Today’s challenge for myself:  Today I will give a meaningful gift to at least one other person.  What is the most meaningful gift we can give?

May 12: Be Present

Especially in the lives of those we love, and in the lives of our children, in particular, it is useful to do everything we possibly can to be present.  It means a LOT to others when we pay attention to them and do more than just be there in the same space, physically.

We can choose to really care enough to focus our attention on them, share our energy and presence with them, and let them know how much they mean to us.  In this world of distractions, may we regularly choose to turn off the television, put down the phone, set all of the distractions aside, and really be present.

In the practice of presence, we are complete and whole.  The book, THE POWER OF NOW, teaches how to truly practice being present, and optimize the enjoyment of this life to the fullest.  The more whole and complete we feel, the more we can do for others.

Today I will strive to be as present as I possibly can be in the lives of those who mean the most to me while I am around them.  I will practice choosing them over any distraction.

October 24: The Results of Hard Work

The result of consistent, continuous hard work is always the same:  GRADUAL IMPROVEMENTS THAT LEAD TO SUCCESS.

When we do hard things, WE become hard.  We get faster, better, wiser, more experienced more quickly, and we become irreplaceable.

Results don’t lie.  If we are filled with determination, grit, perseverance, relentlessness, focus, a spirit of beautiful obstinance, and a winning mindset, we will succeed at anything we choose to put our minds to.  Adopting a few good habits, practicing a growth mindset, and listening to the Mentors we choose for ourselves in this life, AND DOING WHAT THEY SUGGEST ON A DAILY, CONSISTENT BASIS, will usually help us attain the results we want.

RESULTS DON’T LIE.

Through the work of Abraham Hicks, I have come to realize that the MOST IMPORTANT TOOL WE CAN USE TO CREATE, ATTRACT, MANIFEST, PROJECT, AND RENDER THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PERSONAL REALITY POSSIBLE IS ‘T HARD WORK, but ALIGNMENT.  To check out some of this work, input ABRAHAM HICKS into the YouTube search engine and prepare for a MASSIVE, EMPOWERING information download.

One of the many great and wonderful examples of this truth is my daughter-in-law, Amber Simpson.

Today, May 11, 2018, she graduates from NAU.  After four years and a whirlwind of life, challenges, hard work, difficulties, and a not-so-easy but beautiful ride, she has finally made it!  She has succeeded where so many others have tried and failed.  She exhibited a strong will and a lot of, “sticktoitiveness.”  She is a great example of determination, grit, perseverance, focus, a spirit of beautiful obtstinance, and a winning mindset.

When speaking with her father, I mentioned: “Wow.  You must be really proud.”  His reply was, “I am proud, but this is just something I expected.”  I loved that. Greatness, success, and all of the qualities above ought to be expected from all of us-of ourselves, and others.  We all ought to expect and work hard for great things of ourselves.  If we do, and then follow it up with action, the results will always be the same. There are so many great examples of people out there that do.

When I asked Amber, what kept her going through all the rough times when she wanted to quit or give up, she said,” Just knowing that there was a light at the end of the tunnel and knowing that if I kept at it, there was a reward at the end of the process.”

When asked what the thing was that helped her the most to succeed, she said, “Quizlet, the website, helped me through the finals. The testing and studying I had to go through in school were difficult. Quizlet saved me a ton of time. Keeping in mind the vision of completing school and knowing I would have success and a classroom of my own, full of children to teach, really kept me motivated. Vision and goals really kept me going.” There are tools out there we can use to save time and achieve our ideas of success MUCH SOONER, if we are willing to seek them out, ask for help finding them, and experiment with them.

When she was asked who she looked up to and considered a mentor, she replied, “One of my professors, who was an anchor advisor, since day one, helped me immensely.  She got me through it all and was always there for me.  She was knowledgeable and relatable,  Through her I was able to acquire new skills, become connected with key people who would later help me with my own, personal success, and I was able to keep perspective through the educational process.”

Her graduation at NAU today isn’t the end.  She is now planning to further her education and obtain a Master’s degree.  As of this year (2020) she has accomplished this goal!  Her dedication, perseverance, relentless heart, excellent habits, and hard work paid off!

She did the research. A Master’s degree won’t do that much for her.  In truth, it will only bump her up about $50 per paycheck.  Why do it then?  “I want the accomplishment of it.  I feel like it is a lot of hard work and it’s something I can do.  It’s something else I want to work towards and have a feeling of greater accomplishment.”

Everyone who knows and loves Amber is proud of her.  She is proud of herself, and for good reason.

When we work hard and struggle to accomplish the results of hard work, it is important to be proud.  We deserve to celebrate the successes.  We deserve to enjoy the rewards of a higher level of confidence, a greater sense of accomplishment and fulfillment, and a recognition that we dared to achieve greatly, when in reality, we didn’t have to do anything at all.  The harder we work and the more we struggle to succeed, the prouder and more confident we deserve to feel.  When we earn it, we deserve it.  Success isn’t served on a silver platter.  It is something worked hard for, before it is achieved.

Great job, Amber!  We all love you and we are proud of you,  We all would have loved you, no matter what, but after all that you worked so hard for to achieve, the pride is real, and the level of pride is high.  Keep it up!

Graduation is not the end, but the beginning.  What you gained from your hard work and dedication and perseverance along the way, and who you became along the way,  will aid you in furthering your success and enjoying a more enriching and beautiful life than if you had chosen not to do any of this.

The blessing in all of this for me is I feel the same pride for Amber as I do for each one of our six kids.  I love to watch them all struggle, work hard, fail, succeed, persist, and win.  It is a beautiful process to behold.  We are all in the middle of this same process.  We always will be, for the rest of our lives, if we so choose, and doing the hard things can only result in living a purpose-filled, meaningful, highly enjoyable life.

May we all dare to achieve greatly,

The truth is this:  Time passes at the same rate, no matter what we choose to do with it.  What are you doing with your time?  Whatever it is, I hope it is great. You deserve some greatness in your life.  We all do.

Today, I will write a list of all the hard things I am currently doing to achieve my personal list of goals.  I will make another list of OTHER things I could be doing each day to further my progress more quickly, and move the needle in a more significant way, and methodically introduce the habits it will take.  I will remember:  I am persistent. I am relentless.  I am determined.  I am focused.  I am a success.  I am a winner.  I love doing hard things because of what I BECOME in the process.

May 11: HUGE goals, MASSIVE vision

I was listening to an interview about a guy who is a speaker about the topic of, “Mental Toughness”.  He has an incredible story.  It is the story of a man with a wife and five children, who ran and successfully completed 50 iron man competitions in 50 consecutive days.  He is called, “The Iron Cowboy”.  The story behind the headlines isn’t as exciting, but very inspirational.

He spoke of having HUGE goals and a MASSIVE vision, then putting it on the shelf, after breaking it down into many small, consistent, daily habits that you create, over time.

All of the amazing, great things that people accomplish in this life usually isn’t because they are gifted or special.  It is due to all of the daily, consistent, tedious, not so sexy, boring-as-hell things, that they choose to do consistently, which gets them to that point in life where they become great and amazing and can’t do anything BUT create great and amazing results seemingly easily and naturally.

It is always amusing when people talk of the, “Overnight success stories.”  There is no such thing.  Success can, 100% of the time, be reverse-engineered and broken down to years of consistent discipline, daily habits, and a ton of hard work and practice.

It’s a story worth checking into.  It’s an amazing interview that inspires and motivates.  Simply go to YouTube, and type, “impact theory iron cowboy”, and enjoy James Lawrence’s tale.

Today’s challenge for myself:  Today I will make a mental or written list of the things I do daily, consistently, and without fail, that I believe will lead me on to an improved life and an environment in which I can add value and contribute to the lives of others.  If I need to alter the list in ANY way, or upgrade it, I will.

For GREAT suggestions for daily habits, disciplines, and routines to try out and learn more about, check out The goodinthehead Habit-Hacking Challenge.

May 10: Definitions and Meanings

I’ve heard that 10% of life is what happens to us, and 90% of life is how we choose to react or respond.  The main thing that determines how we react, respond, and ultimately how effective we are as human beings, are the things we DEFINE OURSELVES by, and the meanings we attach to everything going on around us.  Our perspectives MATTER.

Our SELF IMAGE directly correlates to the quality of choices we make and the personal reality we constantly RE-create.  When we consistently UPGRADE OUR SELF IMAGE, and the meanings we attach to ALL things, we then automatically upgrade our personal reality.

The quality of our reactions is directly related to the quality of our thinking, beliefs, perceptions, and definitions.  The quality of our thinking, beliefs, perceptions, and definitions DETERMINES THE QUALITY OF OUR LIVES.

When we “fail,” go through difficult times, experience rejection, perform poorly at work or in life, or experience negativity, stress, anxiety, or drama, we have some choices to make.  How will we define the interaction and the way we participated within the interaction?  How will we define ourselves after going through these experiences?  Will we choose to give up?   Will we take a pause and decide HOW to think about it all?  Will we use these experiences as fuel to a fire that we choose to have burning within us that motivates us to keep trying, work harder, remain relentless, and push ourselves even more?  Will a severe over-reaction on our part put us in a self-destructive, self-loathing cycle, and ruin an entire day or evening? Will we choose to daily review what we are proud of, and why we appreciate our self for something in particular we did each day, then revisit something that happened each day that we want to improve on, and visualize saying, doing, or reacting in a more optimal way?

What is OUR truth after a “failure?”  Does it mean we suck, that we are stupid, or that we will probably fail at everything else in life, so why even try?  Does it simply mean we are inexperienced, lacking knowledge, wisdom, and skills, and need to keep upgrading, trying, practicing, and repeating what is needed, until we finally succeed, according to OUR OWN definition of success?

The word YET is a useful tool.  “I am not good at that” is COMPLETELY different from “I am not good at that YET.”

Jack Canfield is one of my favorite mentors to learn from.  He created a formula to live by:

E + R = O

WE get to choose the definitions and meanings in this life for OURSELVES.  We no longer have to dictate the outcomes and results in our lives by the rules, definitions, and meanings we may have been originally programmed with, forced to live by, taught, or coerced into, by loving, well-meaning caretakers who raised us the best they could, but may have been inexperienced or limited in their thinking and perspectives at that time in THEIR lives.  WE get to decide what comes NEXT!

That inner voice and all of the self-talk we have been programmed with from the beginning plays a role in coming up with the definitions and meanings we currently have of ourselves and ALL things.  WE CAN UPGRADE THE INNER VOICE AND ALL OF THE SELF-TALK!  It is so important that we choose to be self-aware.  The more aware we become, the better choices we can make.  The better we know, the better we do.

It’s useful to HABITUALLY choose optimism over pessimism, especially when we are recreating WHO WE ARE, or our SELF IMAGE, and what we stand for.  Whether we realize it, or not, this is a daily process that will last the rest of our lives.  This life is a practice.

This world is a PROVING GROUNDS, in which we practice what we learn until we MASTER it, and prove just how well we are learning our lessons, THROUGH OUR CREATIONS.  Our self-recreation is a daily, continuous process.  Self-optimization and upgrades in EVERY area of our lives is an ongoing opportunity, IF WE CHOOSE IT.

What are some things you have endured, failed at, or that have caused you pain?  Did you choose to let these things define you?  What meanings did you attach to these experiences?  Were they character-building?  Did they destroy you, shatter you, break you, bring you to your knees, and make you give up?  Did you allow these situations to build you up into a stronger, wiser, better version of yourself?  Did you choose to become a victim and wait for someone to help you, save you, or rescue you, or did you choose to learn how to practice saving yourself?

I’ve played the role of a victim.  I’ve allowed past failures to define me, making me feel hopeless, irreparable, and shattered.  It took me years of pain, unintentional self-inflicted trauma, and lots of “failures,” before I decided to make a few simple, consistent improvements in my belief system.  Once I learned how to THINK better, and REPROGRAM MYSELF and my subconscious, I started to improve.  After I began to choose to habitually improve, my life experiences improved.

It was easy to change.  Of course, it was incredibly difficult, new, and uncomfortable, at first, but looking back, it was actually easy, and definitely worth it.  If I was able to do it, ANYONE CAN.

It was the goodinthehead Beliefs Project which sparked this change and empowered me to completely change my reality, forever.

The book, PSYCHO-CYBERNETICS is a MUST READ for ANYONE looking to upgrade their own self image and the results of their human existence.

The definitions and meanings which we attach our feelings to, THROUGH our beliefs, matter a great deal.  Our beliefs will determine HOW WE FEEL, every day, for the rest of our lives.  HOW WE FEEL is HOW WE CREATE.  Our feelings are vibrations which magnetically transmit and receive similar vibrations through EVERY CELL IN OUR BODIES.

ALIGNMENT may be the most important thing we can practice in this lifetime.

We may as well create a beneficial system, stack the odds in our favor, and set ourselves up to win!

Today’s challenge for myself:  Today, I will think about the definitions and meanings I attach to ALL of the experiences in my life, how I choose to react to them, and how I let them define me.

I will take the time to start my OWN version of The goodinthehead Beliefs Project.

I Will remember that HOW I FEEL is the MOST IMPORTANT PART OF MY PERSONAL CREATION PROCESS.

Today’s Challenge: Redefine One Experience

Step 1:

Choose one recent experience that triggered stress, frustration, or self-doubt.

Step 2:

Write down the old meaning you unconsciously gave it.

(Example: “I failed, so I’m not good enough.”)

Step 3:

Now redefine it. Choose a new, empowering meaning.

(Example: “This showed me where I can grow—and I’m committed to learning.”)

Step 4:

Say out loud:

“I release the old definition. I choose to see this as part of my becoming.”

Bonus:

Write it in your journal, and revisit it tonight. Ask yourself:

“How did choosing a new meaning shift the way I felt and showed up today?”

goodinthehead is also on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.  The goodinthehead Podcast can be found on YouTube.  Follow me there, as well, for daily messages, inspiration, motivation, and reminders.  Please pay it forward, and share this, and ANY message, which may empower someone you love or may care about.  It is through adding value to others by sharing and spreading wisdom, that we become more valuable as individuals, and collectively, as a whole, we all become wiser.

Remember:  Mindset matters.  Character counts.  That which we choose to consistently focus on is what EXPANDS in our lives.  WE CREATE our personal realities.
