LOVE

My hero and brother, Dr. King, said it best.

I see the images.  I read the stories.  I feel the emotions.  I send out love, and the tears begin to roll.

These are not tears of rage, but of love.

They are not tears of anger, but of hope.

I hope for healing and comfort to come to those who have lost so very much.  I hope that balance will soon be restored, and LOVE will return to the hearts of all who now harbor hate, anger, malice, resentments, and revenge.  I hope that love will once more become the main focus of ALL thoughts in the minds of the many.

Our system is broken.  It serves the FEW, at the expense of the MANY.

LOVE is the answer.

We swallow our bitterness and anger down, only to become more bitter and angry.

LOVE is the answer.

We tolerate atrocities, allow crimes against others-as long as it doesn’t affect us, remaining silent so that we don’t draw attention to ourselves and become the punching bag of accumulated frustration, fear, hate, anger, and anxiety.

LOVE is the answer.

Frustration is not immediately attended to, problems are not quickly resolved, the cries of the many are not heard by the few, and the build up results in acts of hatred, rioting, violence, devastating destruction, and souls erupt as volcanoes, having built up pressure FAR too long.

LOVE is the answer.

We witness injustices, yet remain silent, in hopes it will not disturb or alter our illusions of comfort and safety.

LOVE is the answer.

We are ONE.  It is NOT about color.  It is not about where we are in the world, but about where we are within ourselves.  It is about the lack of tolerance and acceptance towards others for their differences.

You are different from me.  You look different.  You act differently.  You do not think as I think.  You do not speak as I speak.  You want different things than I do.  You have different goals from me.  You make different choices than I do.  You enjoy or suffer from different results than I enjoy or suffer from. YOU ARE SO DIFFERENT THAN ME!

THAT is your beauty.  THAT is your strength.

Differences are beautiful, to be celebrated.

Your uniqueness is gorgeous, perfect.

Your originality is opulent, and I cannot take my eyes off of your beauty.  It does not make me question or doubt my OWN beauty, or cause me fear that I might not be “as good as,” or ENOUGH.

I look into your eyes, as if to stare into a mirror, and through all of the differences, in the light of your uniqueness, in the bright rays of your originality, I behold God and the Universe.  I see myself in you.  I see you in me.  I am calmed, and through loving myself better, I am better able to love YOU, and you ARE me.

LOVE is the answer.

Let the tears begin to roll ONLY because of love.  Let us celebrate our differences, tolerate our uniquenesses, allow for originality, and remember that we are ONE.

TOGETHER IS BETTER because we are ONE and the same.

I love you, because I love myself.

LOVE IS THE ANSWER.

What comes out of you when you are squeezed?  We ALL need to pay attention to the answers of this question, for THAT is the place from which we are creating reality for ourselves, our children, our loved ones, and collectively, EVERYONE.

LOVE is the answer.

This is a five minute video, featuring teachings of the importance of building up and amassing within us the love that will heal.  It’s time to heal.  Please share. ❤️🙏

May we all pray for LOVE today, and EVERY day.

I feel fearful, so I turn inward and I LOVE.

I feel anxious, so I turn inward and I LOVE.

I feel angry, and so I turn inward and I LOVE.

I feel lonely, and so I turn inward and I LOVE.

I feel darkness, and so I turn inward and I LOVE.

I feel pity, and so I turn inward and I LOVE.

I feel malice, and so I turn inward and I LOVE.

I feel hate, and so I turn inward and I LOVE.

I feel love, and so I turn inward and I AM LOVE.

I can only give what I have within me to give.

THANK YOU

NO man or woman is REALLY self-made. Each and every person that man or woman has ever come into contact with has, in some way, contributed.

Who have YOUR key contributors been? Who are the key contributors you now choose in your life?

I was incredibly blessed growing up, and was surrounded by SO MANY people who had my best interest at heart, who went out of their way to contribute to my beliefs, my mindset, my social programming, and my personal philosophies.

Today, I will take the time to acknowledge and thank those that I can, who have contributed to the greatness and enjoyment of my life in any way.

THE 4 MOST IMPORTANT STEPS IN THE SELF-RE-CREATION PROCESS

In his latest interview with Tom Bilyeu on the YouTube show, IMPACT THEORY, Brendon Burchard describes how MASSIVELY underutilized VISUALIZATION is:  https://youtu.be/YRWHMuRJ3cw

Jay Shetty, in HIS interview with Tom, teaches that WE CANNOT BE WHAT WE CANNOT SEE:

The 4 LIFE TOOLS that will empower ANYONE, no matter their current circumstances, to create the life of their dreams:

1-Beliefs.  EVERYTHING starts with beliefs!  Our perceptions of self and others are affected a great deal by the quality of our belief system, which we can ABSOLUTELY work on and level up!  I highly recommend questioning EVERY belief (so much easier said than done) and improving, altering, changing, abandoning, or replacing them ALL, to YOUR benefit.  A HIGHLY useful tool for doing this can be found at https://goodinthehead.com/goodinthehead-beliefs-project/

2-Visualization.  Visualization is MASSIVELY underused as a self re-creation tool.  WE CANNOT BE WHAT WE CANNOT SEE.  We have more light GENERATORS at the other end of the optic nerve than we do light RECEPTORS at the eyes.  They are present for a reason!  They help with visualization, imagination, dreaming, and in acquiring clarity of our destiny.  The most useful and effective tool I have come across, so far, to optimize my OWN visualization practice, is Emily Fletcher’s book, STRESS LESS, ACCOMPLISH MORE.  Following her techniques has been TRANSFORMATIVE!  HER interview with Tom Bilyeu is the reason I FINALLY began the art and practice of meditation: https://youtu.be/7H5eDSo5MAk

3-Self Affirmations.  ABRACADABRA literally translates from Aramaic (one of the oldest languages known to man) to WHAT I SPEAK I CREATE.  (See this INCREDIBLE Ted talk: http://youtu.be/BVK4mWaS3F8 )

The words I AM are a CREATION.  Whatever we speak, we program our RAS (Reticular Activating System) to pay attention to.  It then automatically seeks out situations, circumstances, and experiences to continuously recreate what we WANT to!

For more on this self-recreation process, refer to this amazing, 8-minute YouTube video:

The thing is, before we speak something into existence, we must first THINK that thing, BELIEVE in that thing, and be capable of VISUALIZING it.  The beginning of the CREATION process is to THINK, BELIEVE, VISUALIZE, and SPEAK.  Once we do these things with intense focus, for long enough, we generate the energy and create the momentum to DO something about it.  The SELF RE-CREATION PROCESS is exactly the same way!

4-Repetition/Consistency.  When we consistently do our best, our best consistently gets better!!  Consistency creates a conversion and a convergence of situations, circumstances, and experiences that will FOREVER serve and save us.  It will seem like synchronicity, like the stars are aligned, and everything is always seemingly, magically going our way, but the truth is this:  The Universe was created from the beginning to conspire on our behalf, and when we are predictable, reliable, and dependable through our consistency, the Universe is empowered exponentially to more often, and better, conspire on our behalf!

These 4 LIFE TOOLS have helped and empowered MILLIONS of people over the centuries to create lives of MASSIVE wealth and abundance in ALL areas of life.  These tools, AND the incredible results that will follow, are a way to set ourselves up for success, take an active role in the SELF RE-CREATION PROCESS, and to create the life of OUR dreams, for ourselves, and everyone we love.

I wish you well on YOUR own personal, unique life journey.  May you experience more success, wealth, love, happiness, and abundance, than you are currently capable of visualizing.

These things are meant to be a part of a daily practice, or routine.  If you liked this information, or found it informative or helpful, please share it!

I love the path this man is on, and I am so grateful he chose to take the time and energy to share his answers to these questions, right here on goodinthehead!

The tools he has learned, and the way he shares them, have the potential to help MANY people who are looking to upgrade their lifestyles and create a better existence for themselves, and those they love.  I hope you love this interview as much as I did.

MICHAEL TAYLOR

I was born in the inner-city projects of Corpus Christi, Texas to a single mom with six kids. We were basically the poster children for poverty back in the 60’s. To say we were poor would be a gross understatement.  Despite our financial situation, my mother instilled the belief in me that anything was possible and if I wanted something badly enough no one could keep me from getting it except myself. I decided to drop out of high school in the 11th grade because I convinced myself I could get rich selling vacuum cleaners. It was an extremely poor choice, however, I secured a job with a building supply company and worked extremely hard to become the youngest manager in the history of the company.

At the age of 23 I was living the American Dream with the house, the wife, the 2.5 kids and by society’s version of success I was successful. At the age of 29 my dream turned into a nightmare as I experienced divorce, bankruptcy, foreclosure, depression and being homeless for 2 years living out of my car.

Fortunately, I was able to rebuild my life and now I am living my version of an extraordinary one as an entrepreneur, author, motivational speaker and radio host.

  • What is your current age? What year were you born and where have you lived?

I was born on October 22, 1960. I am 59 years young at the time of this writing. I am a native Texan who has only lived in Texas. Corpus Christi, Austin, Houston and currently Stafford. (a suburb of Houston)

  • What were the most important things you learned during your childhood and earlier years that helped you later in life?

I possibly had the worst childhood a person could have, filled with every imaginable type of abuse. I learned how to be self-sufficient and resilient and it forced me to rely on my intellect for survival. These traits are the keys to my success today.

  • If your future best self from 10 years in the future appeared to you RIGHT NOW (who is stronger, more capable, and more successful than you ever imagined yourself to be), which ONE terrifying, challenging, or difficult action would that incredible future self, tell you to take?

It would tell me to not be afraid to speak my truth and to be willing to share my story with the world. It would tell me that I am destined to make a powerful positive impact on the world and to use my unique gifts and talents to make the world a better place.

  • How would your future self advise you to live your life NOW, in order to ensure this future self exists?

To live my life joyfully, compassionately, and humbly with a deep sense of reverence and self-love and acceptance.

  • What are the practices which you have implemented into your life, which are difficult that have built credibility with yourself and improved your self-esteem?

Constant and never-ending improvement in all areas of my life. Being willing to be introspective to uncover unresolved emotional baggage that used to sabotage my relationships and my life. Learning to love and accept myself just as I am without titles. Positions or money. Meditation and mindfulness are my go-to practices for inner peace and serenity.

  • What were your biggest failures/mistakes in life, and what did you learn from them?

My mentor Wayne Dyer taught me there is no such thing as failure. There is only the nonattainment of a desired result. During my first marriage I did not attain the result of a happy family. What I learned as a direct result of my divorce was that I had a lot of unresolved emotional conflicts as a result of my traumatic childhood. My divorce challenged me to heal the emotional trauma which I did, which resulted in me finding the love of my life with whom I’ve been blissfully married to for the past 17 years or so.

  • Where is your favorite place you have ever been and why?

I love France. There is a place called St. Paul de Vence which is a converted military type base which houses artist and creatives. It is the most serene and heavenly place I’ve ever been to. I would love to have a villa there and be able to write full time.

  • What is your educational background?

I have no formal education. I am a self-educated idealist who loves learning new things and sharing what I’ve learned with others. I am the author of 8 books dealing with human potential and male transformation.

  • What jobs/employment have you had? Which was the most fulfilling and why?

I spent most of my life in the construction and building material industry as a salesperson. I was able to take my hobbies of writing and speaking and combine them to become an author and publisher. In addition, I am a motivational speaker who is committed to empowering others to transform their lives from the inside out. Writing and speaking are my two passions but I also love radio broadcasting and podcasting.

  • When you feel frustrated, angry, or out of control, what do you do to quickly and effectively return to your baseline emotion? (How do you, “Self-soothe”?)

After more than 25 years of doing transformational work and healing I very seldom feel angry or out of control. My go to self-soothing technique is deep breathing and meditation.

  • If you were to believe in the idea of PRONOIA, and believed that the Universe has conspired on your behalf, EACH AND EVERY MOMENT of your entire life, what moments would prove this belief to be true?

As I reflect back over my life, I can see how every event was divinely orchestrated to bring me to this particular point in my life. Therefore, as I reflect over all of the adversities and challenges I have endured, they were all part of a divine plan and I can see the perfection in all of it. My definition of God is the Divine Energy & Intelligence which created and is still creating this amazing Universe we live in, and I know without question I have direct access to the Energy & Intelligence. Therefore, the abusive childhood I experienced, my divorce, bankruptcy, foreclosure and being homeless for 2 years were all part of the divine plan and they were all simply preparing me for the extraordinary life I am now creating.

  • What is a long-lasting, sustainable contribution you would like to make that lasts long after you are gone, and you do you want it to affect?

My goal is to become a billionaire. I define billionaire as someone who positively impacts the lives of a billion people. I have two companies that create programs to empower individual to reach their full potential. These companies will be my legacy and will continue to benefit humanity long after I’m gone.

  • What are the principles and core beliefs you base your decisions and your life upon? Are there any principles or core beliefs that you altered/improved over the years, as you grew, progressed, and improved? (Old beliefs that didn’t serve you/were harmful vs. New beliefs which benefited you and those around you a great deal.)

As a former Atheist I used to be convinced there was no such thing as God. I now know there is a power greater than myself which I have direct access to and it gives me the ability to create anything my heart desires.

  • Do you have a morning routine which you adhere to in order to, “Prime your pump,” and empower yourself to be a better, more grounded, centered, focused version of yourself for the day?

Each morning I begin my day by having a gratitude prayer before I get out of bed. I then spend time in silence and quiet meditation and then I read and reflect on a daily email I receive called Notes From The Universe by Mike Dooley.

  • What are your favorite 3 quotes and why?

“Imagination is more important than knowledge”, by Albert Einstein. It speaks to my belief that ideas are the currency of the Universe and God speaks through our imagination.

“I will do today what others won’t, so I can do tomorrow what others can’t” by Jerry Rice. Success is actually pretty simple, yet it isn’t necessarily easy. This quote reminds me to do the things most people won’t do so I can have the things most people don’t have, like inner peace, dynamic health, great relationships and financial abundance.

  • Do you have a book list of your favorite, most helpful books? What are the books on your list and what were the most important points from each one?

Too many to mention but the two that comes to mind are The Seat Of The Soul by Gary Zukav which taught me humans beings are still evolving into multi-sensory beings and Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsch which confirmed what I had always believed about God, which is it is a loving presence that animates all of life and expresses itself through us as us.

  • Who were the most important influential people in your life so far? Who do you consider your mentors?  (This can be someone in your life or someone you have never met.)

My mom, Geneva Manigault, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Joe Dispenza, Bruce Lipton, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela.

  • What will your 90-year-old self be most proud of?

That I accomplished everything I showed up on this planet to do.

  • From where do you derive your value and self-worth from the most, and where would you advise a younger version of yourself to look for such things?

It’s been said if you don’t go within you will always go without. Everything I believe and everything I know for myself about myself comes from believing in a power greater than myself. Therefore, that is where I would tell myself to look. The answer to every question or problem can be found within you if you’re willing to look deeply enough.

.

  • Who or what has been the biggest, most helpful contributors to your life?

The Divine Intelligence that permeates the Universe. Star Wars got it right. The Force Is With Me And I Am One With The Force.

  • What have been the most helpful and effective healing tools, which have helped you the most in your own, personal, unique healing journey?

Healing my inner child with the work of John Bradshaw and Charles Whitfield.

  • Is there anything I have not asked you that you would like to share that you believe could benefit others?

Don’t believe the hype of the negative media. It is my belief there has never been a better time to be alive on the planet than right now.

  • What do you believe is the purpose of your life?

Each person has 2 divine purposes. The first is an inner purpose which is finding out who you really are and uncovering your unique gifts and talents. The second is an outer purpose which is figuring out how to use your gifts and talents to make the world a better place. When you find your gifts and talents and figure out how to use them to make the world a better place then you have found your purpose. My gifts are speaking and writing so I write and speak to empower people to create extraordinary lives. This is my purpose in life.

  • What is your main wish/desire for the loved ones in your life?

That they discover who they really are and find peace within their own hearts and minds. And of course, that they know just how deeply I love them.

  • If presented with an opportunity to make a truly sustainable and lasting difference in this world, what would this offer look like, and how would you contribute to its advancement?  What are you currently doing to create this reality and manifest its existence into a reality?

Participating in interviews like this to share my truth and inspire others to find and share theirs. In addition, my books, courses, lectures and podcasts are things I do to make a difference in the world.

THRIVE CONFERENCE 2020, PHOENIX ARIZONA

THRIVE CONFERENCE 2020, PHOENIX ARIZONA

I had the opportunity to attend a conference all about HEALING and learning to THRIVE.  From that brief description, I knew that what was taught at this conference would absolutely be in alignment with the work I have been endeavoring towards since my own, unique, personal re-birth and awakening in 2014, and I was excited to go.  It also offered me the rare opportunity in my incredibly full and busy schedule to spend some quality time with someone very close to me, accompanying her in a topic which has interested her greatly for the past few years, that being healing through a sort of post traumatic religiosity syndrome.  You see, THRIVE is a movement specific to the healing and expansion of growth in life particularly for people who have spent many years of their lives deeply entrenched in particular religious beliefs of the Mormon faith, who have then decided to open their minds and hearts to the possibility that all they have chosen to believe for so long may no longer be what they want to practice.

The fear in the back of my mind was that it might be a religiosity-bashing conference, and that those who felt betrayed and victimized would use it as an opportunity to belittle a church, family members that may be causing them pain and suffering, and members of a church. I feared that BLAMING would be a main theme, but THE BLAME GAME is a result of a victim, and a tool for someone who is merely trying to SURVIVE. I was pleased and uplifted in this conference, which was all about learning how to THRIVE. This life, and its many experiences, victimizes us all, but it is entirely up to us WHEN we take back our power, WHEN to stop blaming others for our current feelings and circumstances, and WHEN stop being a victim of circumstance. THAT is what this conference was all about, and I LOVED IT. MANY useful tools were shared with the ideas of empowerment, healing, love, acceptance, kindness, empathy, forgiveness, connections, expansion, growth, improvement, personal evolution, and spirituality at the center of it all.

The first speaker at the conference spoke of the difference between religion and spirituality. Some of the definitions of spirituality were really enlightening.

To leave the comfortable known for the uncomfortable unknown is terrifying, yet for some incredibly necessary.  It takes a MASSIVE amount of courage. Throughout the hours of the day, and throughout the entire conference, I heard story after story, personally unique, yet closely connected to a similar path I had chosen to take MANY years ago, when I had no idea on how to successfully navigate losing an entire identity by choosing to question beliefs I was programmed with from the age of 5.

For me, this conference was a comfortable, non-threatening environment, though I truly had no idea what to expect.  Since 2014, I have been open to learning about and experiencing EVERYTHING, no longer looking for, “THE TRUTH,” but instead seeking out, MY truth, or set of beliefs that are useful to MY unique life experience, and having the power to help me optimize my own life experiences and greatly enhance the enjoyment and pleasure of this life experience, while sharing this with others.

Having been raised in the Mormon religion from the age of 5, and enjoying very much the sense of connectivity with an entire group of quality people for my childhood and teenage years, and then serving a two-year mission for the Mormon church in the country of Greece, I had been a part of the religion for years.  I was taught from a very young age to not question authority, to never question the teachings of the church I was raised in, and to remain well within the confines of the beliefs that were meant to keep me safe in a dangerous world, being reminded and constantly taught that perfection was my life goal and that as a member of this elite group I was better than everyone who was not a member of it.  Frankly, I am sure that with the young, immature, and unknowing mind I had, I simply misperceived many of the teachings, and believed them all, to the very best of my abilities.  That, however, was never good enough for me to live the life of happiness I was meant to, and eventually I would outgrow the need to connect with this group, and desire to explore the limitless expansion available to everyone who dares to set foot outside of their comfort zone.  For me, the transition to post-Mormonism was a terrifying, yet necessary, adventure.

I never really thought about connecting with a group of people transitioning out of a religion.  I found out through the THRIVE conference, that there is a graceful and highly healing, effective, useful set of ways to do this.  I wish I had such tools at my disposal when I was transitioning out of the lifestyle over 25 years ago, and a support group with knowledge and skills how to most effectively do it.  Maybe my journey wouldn’t have been so devastatingly painful for so many years.  But then, I believe that there is purpose in ALL things, that the Universe was designed from the beginning to conspire on our behalf, and that each of us has a calling to experience our own, personal, unique life journey in a way that only WE can.  I believe that ALL we experience in this life journey, all along the way, prepares us for greater and greater contribution towards the good of the collective whole, and that TRULY, we are all ONE.  We are all intertwined and interconnected through that which we ARE.  I believe that which we ARE is divine energy, star dust, a piece of the universe, or a portion of godliness, temporarily placed in this bio-chemical, hormonal, physical, sort of virtual reality suit, in order to learn from our unique and individual life experiences, to learn to more fully optimize our physical and mental/emotional capabilities in order to enjoy the pleasures of this life, and to BE.  We all get to do it in our own ways, which helps us quickly learn what the least and most effective ways are for US, all the while being programmed, manipulated, controlled, and persuaded my many different groups that THEIR way is the ONLY way, or the BEST way, or the only GOOD way.

At the end of the day, the last speaker was Christian Moore, the author of, THE RESILIENCE BREAKTHROUGH. At one point he was speaking about FEELINGS and EMOTIONS. He taught that EMOTIONS ARE ENERGY. I have found that to be true for me. He showed a picture of a battery on the screen. A cable was hooked to just the positive side, and he asked the question, “Can we charge a battery simply by hooking a cable up to the positive side?” The answer is no. He then showed a picture of a battery with a cable hooked up to the negative side. “Can we charge a battery simply by hooking a cable up to only the negative side?” The answer is no. We can only charge a battery when BOTH sides are hooked up to a charger. MORE IMPORTANTLY, we can only USE a battery when both sides of the battery are hooked up. This is the brilliance behind this teaching: He said that when we are able to utilize BOTH NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE emotions, we are capable of possessing TWICE the energy, being able to access twice the emotions. I would add that, just like in chemistry, when we add just one element that is a catalyst, to one or more other mixtures, there is a potential for the energy to be MULTIPLIED EXPONENTIALLY, resulting in an EVER-EXPANSIVE result or reaction, creating a LIMITLESS SUPPLY of energy to be utilized in whatever way we see fit. Depending upon the emotions, and the many different possibilities of the mixtures and combinations of these emotions, we may tap into unused resources we never even knew about! How exciting.

I no longer believe in THE truth.  I believe in each of us finding OUR truth.  I think it is possible we were designed to be beautifully unique, using our personal talents and gifts to enhance the enjoyment and pleasure for ourselves and others through love and connectivity, while living out our brief, earthly existence to the very best of our ability.

This THRIVE conference was a beautiful way to empower others to do just that.  It was well-done, and a great opportunity for some really incredible people to connect over common interests, common trauma, common healing, and the common desire to live life in the most expansive, optimal ways possible.  While the one-day conference was far too short, the movement is real, and the connection opportunities are there for anyone who may be looking for ideas or ways to THRIVE, and not merely survive, after shedding an entire life-identity and stepping into the uncomfortable unknown.

Love, acceptance, kindness, empathy, support, and connection, are what this life are all about.  If ANY of our beliefs dictate that we treat ourselves or others with anything but these gifts, it is my opinion that those beliefs need to be questioned.  Maybe it is time to improve, grow, expand, and evolve into an even better version of ourselves, and through a regular and consistent practice of questioning our subconscious programming, or beliefs, is exactly what needs to happen.  At the terrifying risk of losing our identity, and watching our lives fly apart, most of us never choose to do this, and that’s okay.  When you are ready to do it, and IF you are ready to do it, you will know.  Sometimes, though, things need to fall apart in order for something far more beautiful to fall into place.

Time is short.  It is my hope that we will all realize HOW short, and make the most of what little time we have left, spending it loving and supporting everyone around us, providing for them a safe place with us, as individuals, where unconditional love is present, and where we can all heal to the very best of our abilities.  This life is a constant opportunity to practice the art of creation.  May we all create something magnificent and beautiful with and through one another, every moment possible.  May we all INCLUDE, rather than EXCLUDE, LOVE, rather than hate, CREATE, rather than destroy, and experience PLEASURE and ENJOYMENT, rather than PAIN and SORROW.

Wellness, healing, balance, love, acceptance, abundance, and joy, ARE BUT A THOUGHT AWAY.

This may seem to be an over-simplification, or too easy and minuscule to be true, but as Earl Nightingale taught: “The secret to success, AND the secret to failure is this ONE thing:  WE BECOME WHAT WE THINK ABOUT.”  If this is true, what do YOU choose to think about, all day long?  What are YOU choosing to constantly and consistently become?  Healed?  Whole?  Complete?  Connected?  Love?  Well?  Abundant?  What is it that you WANT to become more of?

IT IS THROUGH OUR THINKING THAT WE CREATE IT ALL.

The most beautiful part about this conference was that even though it was messy, even though it was scary, even though it was extremely risky, the people present were willing to be courageous enough to step into who they felt they needed to be, in order to be true to themselves. I love that. To me, that is one of the most beautiful things a human can do. At the risk of ridicule, judgement, and criticism, and for some, at the risk of losing EVERYTHING important and meaningful to them, they still choose to listen to the voice within, telling them what was best for THEM, as individuals.

No matter who you are, I wish you well on your OWN life journey.  You deserve the very best of everything.  I know you can make that happen, in your own beautiful, unique way.

GOODINTHEHEAD After School Club

Start your own after school club!

It can be named whatever YOU decide, but please feel free to use and share any of the content you find on the GOODINTHEHEAD website!  🙂

WE CAN’T BE

WHAT WE CAN’T SEE

The entire purpose behind being a part of a club is to start your own community, tribe, or social group, in which to create an environment of learning and connection.  When we learn of other ideas, beliefs, possible careers, educational opportunities, financial wellness plans, and different ways to create a lifestyle of extreme wealth and abundance, there are NO LIMITS to what we can imagine.

THE IMAGINATION IS A PREVIEW

FOR WHAT’S TO COME.

Get with your school’s office, a counselor, or a teacher, and find out how to make it happen.

Make sure that everyone in attendance brings a permission slip, outlining the rules, expectations, and topics that will be discussed.

An example of a helpful, empowering, and enjoyable meeting agenda:

  • Welcome everyone to the meeting!  Introduce yourself, then ask everyone who is in attendance to introduce themselves, and answer a fun question-make it a different one, each time.
  • Let everyone know that you will be texting or messaging a daily GOODINTHEHEAD PERSPECTIVE SHIFT, complete with quotes, stories, suggested personal development materials, and inspiring messages, from people all over the world.  These can be found HERE.  Have fun with it, and create your own club’s web site, Facebook page, or Instagram page!  Create a community of empowerment and support.
  • Introduce the featured interview from YouTube shows like IMPACT THEORY, HEALTH THEORY, WOMEN OF IMPACT, THE ED MYLETT SHOW, THE LEWIS HOWES SHOW, and LONDON REAL.  An EXCELLENT first interview to show would be Tom Bilyeu’s interview on his show IMPACT THEORY with Les Brown.

  • After the interview, discuss the key takeaways that interested each person, review the highlights of the interview, and ask how these teachings and ideas could possibly apply to each of the participants.
  • Close the meeting by thanking everyone for attending, inviting them to share the interview or messages shared in the meeting, and give one challenge for the week.  (Commit a random act of kindness.  Stick up for someone being bullied.  Smile every time you enter a room for the next week.)

***Make sure to ask each person how the challenge is going in the text or message the next day including the DAILY PERSPECTIVE SHIFT.

CONSISTENCY will be the key to enjoying a supportive, successful, enjoyable club.  YOU are in charge of the environment created, the friendships made, and the content shared, but a consistent meeting time and place, having the same, or a similar agenda, and choosing to bring your unique energy and attitude to each meeting, CONSISTENTLY, will be the key to your club success!

COACHING CONVERSATIONS: Relationships

January 5, 2020

RELATIONSHIPS:

I want to share with you a beneficial conversation I had:

Me:  Who are you with, right now?

My friend:  I am alone.  I am by myself.

Me:  Who do you WANT to be with, right now.

My friend:  Someone I love, who loves me back in a similar manner.  I have a LOT of love to give, but I am alone.  I can date around and get someone to like be back and be with me for a while, easily enough, but I just can’t seem to keep them.

Me:  That which we focus on, we attract more of.  That which we choose to focus on tends to manifest itself more and more.  What we tell ourselves, consistently and repeatedly, is a program which is running in the background that makes our mind look for people, places, things, situations, and circumstances, to re-perpetuate the same results, and make our beliefs and what we are telling ourselves to be true.

Answer the question again.  Who do you WANT to be with, right now?

My friend:  Someone I love, who loves me back in a similar manner.  I have a LOT of love to give, but I am alone.  I can date around and get someone to like be back and be with me for a while, easily enough, but I just can’t seem to keep them.

Me:  You know what you want.  That is excellent!  Many people do not know what they want.  Your belief that you are focusing on is one of inability and lack, and it seems that you believe that you have to be with someone to feel whole, complete, happy, and abundant.  You said you are alone, by yourself.  The words I AM are a creation.  You said:  I AM ALONE. You said it is easy to get someone for a while, but the belief came out: I JUST CAN’T SEEM TO KEEP THEM.  Your subconscious hears these creations, and the program tells your brain to seek out people, places, things, situations, and circumstances, to re-perpetuate the same results, and make your beliefs and what you are telling yourself to be true.

My friend (A little angry and frustrated):  It feels like my words are a PRISON!  What the hell am I SUPPOSED to say?!

Me:  Your words ARE a prison, if that is what you choose to believe and to think.  I believe that our words are an opportunity to CREATE.  Your subconscious programing will make it so, by seeking out people, places, things, situations, and circumstances, to re-perpetuate the same results, and make your beliefs and what you are telling yourself to be true.  THAT WHICH YOU CHOOSE TO REPEAT IN YOUR MIND IS WHAT YOU WILL RE-PROGRAM YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS TO SEEK OUT AND LOOK FOR.

Answer this question:  What makes it so easy for you to date around and get someone to like you back and be with you?

My friend:  I am attractive.  I am funny.  I am interesting.  I just don’t feel like I have the depth of character needed, in order to keep any of the GOOD ones around, you know what I mean?

Me:  Oh boy, do I ever!  I was in a similar situation for YEARS!  Again, the words I AM are a creation.  You just told me what you thought about yourself that allows you to attract people into your life.  All good stuff!!  You ALSO told me another belief:  You believe, and perceive, that you are shallow, and that because of that, you are lacking something you believe others to want in you, but just don’t see, with is depth of character.  Did I get that right?

My friend (with a furrowed brow): Yeah.  I guess that IS right.  That IS how I have been thinking, and if that is my repeated thoughts, and what I truly believe, I may need to work on that.

Me:  We ALL have things to work at.  We always will.  That is actually a really beautiful part of this life experience.

Being attractive on the OUTSIDE attracts a certain type of person, hell, it attracts a lot of types, but ALWAYS one type of person, in particular.  The are usually the hit-it-and-quit-it types.

Being attractive on the INSIDE attracts a totally different type of person.  If a person is ONLY what the world views as attractive on the inside, and NOT the outside, sadly only a certain number of people will be attracted to that person.

Being attractive on the inside AND the outside tends to attract EVERYONE.  The subconscious is programed to seek out people, places, things, situations, and circumstances, to re-perpetuate the same results, and to make our beliefs and what we are telling ourselves to be true, and so our program runs, repeatedly telling us that we are beautiful and attractive, inside and out, and our brain makes it so!  The result of this consistent bombardment of these beliefs and this truth we choose to believe, is a high level of energy, vitality, confidence, competence, and situations, places, people, things, circumstances, situations, and everything in our world, telling us over and over what we already believe.

My friend:  Wait a minute.  Are you telling me that if I were to simply tell myself, over and over, that I am attractive, beautiful, and whole on the INSIDE AND THE OUTSIDE, that my subconscious would believe it?!  It CAN’T be that simple!

Me:  That is EXACTLY what I am telling you.  It IS that simple, but it takes time.  Our inner world is constantly being recreated by everything we tell ourselves, everything we choose to believe, and by everything we choose to repeatedly focus on.  It takes time for the program to be properly entered into the subconscious.  It takes time to enter the data, and it takes time for the program to take noticeable effect, but it really does work!  Once the program has been entered, it is uncomfortable and unfamiliar, and the subconscious actually tries to fight this new program, but if the NEW program is all you focus on and repeat consistently, day in, and day out, it soon displaces the old program, replacing it almost entirely!  Remember:  ALMOST.  In times of exhaustion or stress, the subconscious reverts back to old programing, but you are really good at creating an external environment in which you no longer HAVE to deal with stress or exhaustion.

My friend:  No, I am not.

Me:  Do you realize what you just did.

My friend:  I just created.

Me:  Yes!!  You are catching on quickly.  You are smart.  You are willing to learn.  You are ready to begin working on yourself in a way that most people will never believe is available to them.  Do you believe that ANYTHING and EVERYTHING is available to you, and THAT YOU DESERVE IT?

My friend:  Not yet, but I will get there.

Me:  That is a PERFECT place to start this life-long journey of reprogramming the subconscious mind and creating the EXACT life you WANT!  Here is how we will start:

MAKE A LIST OF EVERY QUALITY AND ATTRIBUTE YOU WANT, WISH, AND DESIRE TO HAVE IN THE EXACT PERSON YOU WANT.  Be as detailed as possible.  Envision EVERY aspect of this PERFECT PERSON FOR YOU, and write it ALL down.

Now, after taking all the time you need to do this, circle EVERY ITEM on the list that you believe that YOU can improve upon.  As you do the research and the work to acquire the knowledge and skills that will be necessary for YOU to improve in all of these areas, and implement daily habits to make this happen, you will constantly be improving, growing, and evolving into MORE of who you are.  This will send out a vibrational energy frequency that is every expanding and getting louder and higher.

This is the secret to attracting ANYTHING or ANYONE you want:

You must first become that which you wish to attract.

IT ALL STARTS IN THE MIND

NEXT, MAKE ANOTHER LIST.  THIS list will contain every turn-off, every personality defect, every character flaw, every issue, and every weakness that you perceive yourself to have which may be blocking you from attracting what or who you want into your life.

Anger, jealousy, a belief system centered around lack, neediness, or whatever else they may be, LIST THEM ALL.

After the list is complete (talk all the time you can or need-weeks, if necessary!), start at the top of the list, read off the word OUT LOUD, then say, I NO LONGER ACCEPT YOU OR YOUR RESULTS IN MY LIFE.

Physically cross the work off of the list, with a single line, or scribble over it until you can’t read it anymore, but CROSS IT OFF THE LIST.

At the end of the list, crumple the paper up.  Now, smooth it out, and toss it into a drawer, so it is no longer visibly seen, given energy, or given attention.

You just successfully removed ALL of these things like a FESTERING THORN.  You can stick the thorn back in the old wound, if you like, at ANY time, but instead, it is now time to focus ONLY on the attributes on the OTHER list.

ENERGY FLOWS WHERE ATTENTION GOES

My friend:  Wow!  I have never heard of these things.  I’m going to make these lists IMMEDIATELY.

Me:  Once you do, I’d love if you would share what you have decided.  I’m incredibly excited for you.  Good things are coming your way.  I really do believe that.  For your ENTIRE LIFE, you have been being prepared to make these lists with a level of CLARITY that will empower you to level up in life, and play a whole new game, at a whole new level.  It’s really fun to hang onto these lists, and come back to them in a year or two.  You will be blown away at the growth you realize you have been experiencing because of your efforts and your new-found clarity!

My friend:  What if I didn’t agree with something you told me?  What if I didn’t believe something that you believed?

Me:  That would have been perfectly fine with me.  It wouldn’t affect me in the least!  I simply would have asked you to explain why.  If I thought your belief would have been more useful and effective for me than the one I was currently sharing with you, I would have researched it a little more, and had I found your belief to DEFINITELY be more useful and effective for me in my life, than my own belief was, I would have chosen to adopt that belief, and repeat it consistently, until it had been programed into my subconscious, to be automatically used the next time the belief was necessary.

My friend:  Wait a minute.  What about the truth?  What if your belief was the truth, and mine wasn’t, but you still chose to adopt it?

Me:  What is THE truth?  Who am I, and who are you, to decide what THE truth is, for ANYBODY?  I no longer have the belief that there is THE ONE AND ONLY TRUTH for everyone.  I have chosen to believe that we each have OUR OWN truth, and it is anything and everything we choose it to be.  I no longer seek for THE truth, but rather MY OWN truth.  I now spend my time and energy seeking out that which is USEFUL and EFFECTIVE, rather than THE truth.  I adopted that belief from a guy named Jesse Elder.

Anything that gets me the results in my life that I want, as long as I am causing no harm to others in the process, is MY truth.

I no longer feel the need to conform to the thoughts, truths, or beliefs of others, just so they will feel more comfortable around me, or maybe like they are MORE than me.  I simply let others think, believe, and feel whatever they choose to, and I make sure to do the same, for myself.  It is no longer my business what people say of me and think of me.  I am what I am and I do what I do.  I expect nothing and accept everything.  I adopted THAT belief from the actor, Anthony Hopkins.

My friend:  You sure do let a lot of people contribute to your TRUTH bank.  Aren’t you worried that you might adopt a truth that is harmful to you or others?

Me:  That idea USED to frighten me.  Then I realized something:  As soon as I adopt a truth, try it out as my own, and witness the results and the feedback that are returned to me, sometimes IMMEDIATELY, I KNOW FOR MYSELF, through the experience, if it is good or bad, or right or wrong, for ME.  We are all SO different and unique.  What works for you, may not work the same exact way for me.  What works for me, may not work for others, but when it comes to leveling up, and optimizing life practices in order to enjoy life even MORE fully than we currently do, isn’t it worth it to at least try out ANY belief, ANY tool, or ANYTHING that may actually be useful to us, as individuals?

My friend:  I like that.  Who do you decide it is a good idea to get these new ideas and beliefs from?

Me:  That is an EXCELLENT question!  This is where CLARITY in EXACTLY what you want for YOU comes into play.  When you are able to sit down and meditate or think on EVERY aspect of your life, and see what it will look like in 10 years from now, EXACTLY THE WAY YOU WANT IT, until it FEELS real, and you are able to see it, smell it, taste it, feel it and hear it, IN YOUR MIND, exactly the way you want it, then make a list, writing ALL of it down in INCREDIBLE DETAIL, and revisit this vision DAILY, you are on the right track to creating ALL that you want.  Your subconscious mind, or the runner of our programs we install, will immediately begin looking for NEW people, places, things, situations, and circumstances, habits, ways, beliefs, and new thoughts, to create what it believes you are ALREADY experiencing.

BY VISUALIZING YOUR GOAL AS ALREADY COMPLETED, YOU FLIP YOUR MIND ONTO THE FREQUENCY THAT CONTAINS THE WAY THAT IT WILL BE ATTRACTED TO YOU.

I learned this from a man named BOB PROCTOR.  I chose to believe this as a truth for myself, and so far, it has been correct!  My subconscious has made it so!

My friend:  That’s amazing.  If I hadn’t known you for years, and seen all that you have been through, first hand, I wouldn’t believe half of the things you are saying, but because I have seen it work so well for you, I decided to come to you and ask for your advice, and I’m glad I did!

Me:  So am I!  And THAT is the secret to success:  Look around!  It is SO easy to see the success of others who we admire and want to be more like.  Wealth, abundance, riches, spirituality, good health, incredible relationships-ALL of these things are had by SOMEONE, and the key is to find THOSE people.  Research them!  Know EVERYTHING about them, and why they are so incredibly successful in ALL of these areas of life.  The people who are incredibly successful in ONE area of life, but neglect to be successful in OTHER areas of their lives, are usually in pain.  They suffer.  They look good, on the OUTSIDE, in this one area of life, but on the INSIDE, they are hurting.  Just ask them, and if they are honest, truthful, and transparent with you, they will tell you.  The people to REALLY research the hell out of are the ones that are able to find BALANCE in their lives, through their daily practices, routines, and habits.

Tony Robbins teaches that we can literally compress DECADES of knowledge, experiences, and wisdom, into just a FEW DAYS or a FEW HOURS!  MANY people have spent DECADES messing up, failing, learning, making mistakes, and learning more, until they have FINALLY succeeded at doing something incredible.  These are the books to read.  WHATEVER you want, WHATEVER you choose to research, someone, somewhere, had completely MASTERED that thing!  I have found it incredibly useful to be SUPER CLEAR on what I want, then go out and find the MASTERS of these things.  THESE are the people I choose to learn from, no matter what century they lived it.  Tools are tools, and when we have the best tool for the job, we can build ANYTHING.

Tim Ferriss teaches that to learn from the best, we don’t need to actually MEET them, we just need to ABSORB them.  This can be done through books, audio, or a single powerful quote.

My friend:  You used to be WELL-KNOWN for the guy that was incapable of being able to remember ANYTHING?  How is it that you are able to retain, recall, and share all of this information so quickly and easily?

Me:  Practice.  ANYTHING we repeat, practice, consistently focus on, and program into our subconscious, becomes OUR truth.  I literally worked at it for a really long time.  I mean, you know the old me, where I was until 2014, and what a dark place I was stuck in!

My friend.  Yeah.  I DO know that old you.  We haven’t spoken in so long that this NEW you is really boggling my mind.

Me:  It boggles my mine, as well, but following people I wanted to me more like has empowered me with the knowledge, wisdom, tools, and MOMENTUM, to get to where I am today.  I truly feel like I have just barely scratched the surface of the tip of an iceberg that literally goes on FOREVER.  I’m really excited to learn, do, and BE more.  An I’m excited that you want the same thing for you, as well!

My friend.  I really do!  I have a lot of ideas to work with.  I feel like you have been handing me useful tools that I can actually use to build something great for myself.  I feel really hopeful, for the first time in a long time!  It’s so overwhelming, because there is SO MUCH I can do, but I really don’t know where to start.  Where did YOU start, when you got out of the mental hospital, in 2014?

Me:  I started with my mind.  I knew that things had to change for me, or I just wasn’t going to make it, and I heard something that really helped a lot, from a man I now listen to, almost EVERY DAY, as part of a daily, habitual, morning routine.  His name is Jim Rohn, and even though he passed away in 2009, his teachings and beliefs I have chosen to adopt and implement into my life have resulted in the life I am now living.  I will forever be grateful to him, and to ALL people who have displayed the courage it takes to SHARE THEIR STORY and to SHARE WHAT THEY HAVE LEARNED THAT HAS HELPED THEM.

He said, IN ORDER FOR THINGS TO CHANGE FOR YOU, YOU’VE GOT TO CHANGE.

My friend:  That’s it?

Me:  Yes.  These words cut me to the core.  All of the years I spent as a victim, making excuses for the life I was living, and why I couldn’t do better or be more, came to the forefront of my mind.  It was really uncomfortable to face the fact that I WAS THE ONE 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LIFE I WAS LIVING.  I realized that I deserved everything I was getting, because I had made it a habit to continue to accept everything I was getting.  We deserve was we tolerate, and we always get more of what we accept.  I realized I needed some clear boundaries, in order to protect myself-not just from others, but from ME, as well!  I came across a book called, THE LANGUAGE OF LETTING GO, by Melody Beattie, and it was the perfect way to start a morning routine.  It has a paragraph for each day.  Any day of the year, you can flip to that day’s date, and read the paragraph for that day.  It has a TON of helpful, useful, effective beliefs and tools!  I have read that book, every day, since 2014, when I got out of the psych ward at that hospital.

My friend:  I saw that book laying over there on the table.  Is there anything else you do?

Me:  Yes.  I’ve researched a LOT of people.  Almost ALL of the successful ones have two things in common:  They all have a daily morning routine, and they all meditate.

I created a website to share with ANYONE and EVERYONE who is seeking these things to be able to easily find them.  All of the tools I have experimented with, the habits I have tried out, the people I have learned from and chosen to follow on social media, or read books from-EVERYTHING is on this website.  I also started a BLOG.  Then I decided to do what Melody Beattie did, and created a daily paragraph, or a daily article, for all of the things I wanted to focus on, and I re-write each article, once a year, making it better, going deeper, and using it as a recreation and reprogramming tool for myself.  I post these articles on social media, every day, as part of my own, unique, personalized, daily, morning routine.  I am now rolling out classes on the web site.  It is the first thing I will be selling on my website, and I am really excited about the possibilities!  Everything I have done on the web site, so far, has been free, and it will all stay that way.

After I start selling these online classes, I’ll be selling merchandise, workbooks, and coaching sessions.  This is soon going to be my full-time obsession!

My friend:  Oh wow.  Before talking with you today, I would have literally told you that you are CRAZY.  Now, I believe you.  And I can see that you believe it, as well.

Yeah.  I saw that stuff on your social media.  It was what made me reach out to you.  I wanted to know if you really thought all of these things, and if it was really even you, or if you were just copying and pasting stuff to look good, or something.  I can see now, that you really have changed a lot.  Why did you decide to call it GOODINTHEHEAD?

My:  (I laughed out loud)  I was wondering what to call my blog, and knew that I wanted to be good in the head, so that’s what I went with.

My friend:  Makes sense to me!  At first, I thought it read, GOODHEAD, but then I realized it was actually GOODINTHEHEAD.  I was wondering if you had gotten into porn, or something.

We bot had a good laugh over this.

Me:  That is a story for another day, my friend.  It used to be an addiction I used to distract myself from PAIN.  I need to get going now, and meet my family for dinner.

My friend:  Can we talk again soon?

Me:  Of course!  We will.

My friend:  Thank you for your time.

Me:  Thank YOU, man.  This did more for me than it did for you.

My friend:  I seriously doubt that.

Me:  And yet that is what I choose to believe.  I was able to, BECAUSE OF YOU, remind myself of what is truly important to me.  I was able to reinforce some of the beliefs that I have implemented, along with newer ones that I am still trying out.  You really helped ME out, by reaching out, and allowing me the opportunity to talk with you, so thank YOU.  I really do appreciate it.

I AM HEALED. I AM GOOD IN THE HEAD.

December 28, 2019

A few weeks ago, I was offered an INCREDIBLE opportunity!  I was offered an all-expense, paid trip, to Costa Rica for a week-long Ayahuasca retreat.  For any of you who do not yet know what Ayahuasca is, I highly recommend watching the documentary, THE REALITY OF TRUTH.  I can promise you that it will absolutely be time well-spent.

I was incredibly excited about such an amazing offer.  I know of many individuals who have been on at least one Ayahuasca journey, and some who have been on many more.  Every experience these individuals have shared with me have been enlightening, filled with hope, and offered a true healing experience, available to anyone who is ready and willing for a journey of their own.

I told the other person I was DEFINITELY interested in the opportunity, and completely blown away by the generosity of such a gift, but that I would need to think about it.  I am planning on an Ayahuasca journey of my own, and I knew this was an incredible opportunity.  The last words of the person on the other end of the line were, “It will be an INCREDIBLE healing opportunity.”  This person has known me for years, and has seen my personal struggles and difficulties in life, as I sought out healing.

”IT IS THROUGH EMPOWERING OTHERS TO HEAL, THAT I WILL HEAL THE BEST.”

Immediately after hanging up the phone, I looked at my wife and told her about the incredible offer.  I then told my wife, “I no longer need to be healed.  I am healed, already.”  We both teared up, and she expressed that those were her favorite words she has ever heard me utter.  It took this incredible offer, this simple phone call, for me to realize my own, unique, personal reality of MY truth: I AM HEALED.  I simply hadn’t realized it, yet.  I was so busy doing the work to become healed, that I didn’t realize that it had already happened.

Einstein once said that, “COMPOUNDING INTEREST IS THE EIGHTH WONDER OF THE WORLD.”  I don’t think he was just talking about money.

I wanted to take the opportunity, after this incredible realization, to share with you my own, personal, unique, healing journey, and what I did to heal.  Up until the year 2014, I was suicidal.  In fact, I had unsuccessfully attempted to take my life many times in the years leading up to that time.  I was taking mood-stabilizers, anti-depressants, and was completely and utterly miserable.  In retrospect, I now realize that I never really wanted to die.  I simply didn’t know how to really LIVE, and I only wanted the pain to stop.

I had absolutely NO CLUE where to start coming back from that dark abyss.  I didn’t possess the tools I needed to start digging myself out of that deep hole.  It was the extreme amount of PAIN. which I had been experiencing for YEARS, that motivated me to change, improve, evolve, grow, work my ass off towards Personal Progress, and really start to LIVE.  I decided to start by seeking out, and researching the lives of, those who had achieved my idea of success in every area of life I wanted to be more successful in.

Because of what I learned, I spent the next three years experimenting with a morning routine, a general re-creation of habits, putting a spotlight on each of my beliefs, and literally bombarding my brain with every piece of content I came across, dissecting it all, in the hopes of finding tools I would need to dig myself out of that deep, dark abyss.  I realized, later, that after all of the excuses I had, to have gotten to that dark place (and I was the Kind of Excuses), and after all of the people I had blamed for getting me to that place, and for making me the person I had become, I was ALWAYS the one who had done it all to myself.  This was the most empowering realization and belief of them all.  It provided me with the most hope and strength out of everything I came across.  To know that I was in control of myself changed EVERYTHING.

LIFE WILL VICTIMIZE US ALL,

BUT HOW LONG WE CHOOSE TO REMAIN A VICTIM,

IS ENTIRELY UP TO US.

I began journaling again, and I shared a few of the things on social media.  The husband of a friend, which my wife and I both grew up with, Tim Higgins, reached out to me and asked if I had ever thought about creating a BLOG.  I really hadn’t, but I began to write a few things down, thinking maybe I could start one.  He offered to host this blog for free, on his personal server.  I thought, WHY NOT?  I had nothing to lose, and hoped that maybe something I had come across that was so empowering and helpful to me might empower and help someone else, someday.

So, I thought about a name for the blog.  I was still in the process of healing from a barrage of self-inflicted damage, due to years of habitual neglect, and wanted  more than anything, to someday be able to consider myself, “Good in the head.”  I decided upon www.goodinthehead.com and immediately purchased the domain name.

In August of 2014, I came across a book written by Melody Beattie, entitled, THE LANGUAGE OF LETTING GO.  In it, I found MANY tools that were helpful in the successful recreation of my entire belief system, and more importantly, in the initial creation of BOUNDARIES.  There is a short paragraph for each day, with the date above it.  I read from this book each day, as part of an incredibly, well-researched, empowering, helpful, morning routine.  I will ALWAYS read from this book, each and every day, for the rest of this life experience, as a habitual re-focusing opportunity.  Repetition is how we reprogram the subconscious as adults, and it is through repeated disciplines, routines, rituals, and habits, that I have become increasingly and exponentially more healed, and good in the head.

After reading from THE LANGUAGE OF LETTING GO, I realized that the repetition was taking effect.  It was empowering me to reprogram my mind in the ways I wanted to reprogram it.  I was no longer distracted by anything and everything around me.  My mind was so filled to the brim, that everything I no longer actively focused on, was completely displaced by what I ACTUALLY WANTED IN MY HEAD.

It gave me an incredible idea.  What if I continued my research, and continued bombarding my brain, with ONLY the content which I WANTED to focus on?  By this time, I had been listening to hundreds of hours of content that I had researched on YouTube, and had come across some INCREDIBLE teachers, mindset mentors, coaches, content creators, life-optimization specialists, and TONS of helpful podcasts.

I have found that whatever we are looking for, no matter what it is, we will find it.  If we are looking for nothing, we will find it.  If we are looking for peace, we will find it.  If we are looking for wealth, we will find it.  It was taught centuries ago:  SEEK, AND YE SHALL FIND.  So, I intentionally began to seek out content with tools I could use to heal my mind, my body, and my soul.  The sources of my skill, knowledge, wisdom, and experience acquisition, if they were put on a time line, starting directly after my awakening in 2014, were from YouTube, and are as follows:

-The documentary FED UP, Tony Robbins.  Jim Rohn.  Earl Nightengale.  John Earl Shoaff.  The shows IMPACT THEORY, The Lewis Howes Show, HEALTH THEORY, WOMEN OF IMPACT, The Ed Mylett Show, LONDON REAL, and every single guest on each of these shows.

Dr. Joe Dispenza teaches that a thought repeated, recruits neurons from nearby, neighboring thoughts that are no longer being activated, in order to strengthen the thought being activated the most.  This teaches us the importance of consistent focus.  This is why what we focus on the most throughout our day tends to manifest itself more prevalently in our lives.

Because of the idea I got from Melody Beattie’s book, THE LANGUAGE OF LETTING GO, all of these things I learned so much about, and researched, became a daily article, written each day of the year, with the goal in mind to repeat that which was most important to me, at least once a year.  They became the goodinthehead Daily Perspective Check, and each day of the year, as part of a daily and habitual routine, I rewrite the daily article and share it on social media.  At first, it was just for me, but then I wanted to share all of the incredible things I had been learning and experiencing with my children.  After that, I had to share these things with absolutely everyone who was willing to receive it.  A few years after sharing these things consistently, I came up with the belief, IT IS THROUGH EMPOWERING OTHERS TO HEAL, THAT I WILL HEAL THE BEST, and it has proven to be true.  The more value I have sought to add to the minds and lives of others, in ANY way, has made me feel more valuable.

SO MANY people have done so much for me, and it was because I chose to let them.  Some of my favorite people in the world, who have done the most for me, are people I have not yet met in person.  I will forever be grateful to them for their contributions to my mind, and therefore to my life, as it is MY TRUTH, that all we create first starts in the mind.

One of my FAVORITE tools is INSTAGRAM.  I created an account JUST for guests from books and podcasts who I CHOOSE around allow to influence my mind, and empower me to change in the ways I WANT to change, through constant, consistent reprogramming of my OWN subconscious, through repetition.  This has worked wonders.

Please explore the website, www.goodinthehead.com and search out tools for your own, unique, very personal, beautiful life journey.  There are healing tools, life-optimization tools, and everything I could possibly find to level up, expand, grow, and become MORE of who I am.  I hope that whoever you are, if you are reading this now, you will gain what you need for you, and that you will choose to share these things with as many others as you possibly can, all along the way.  Even if NONE of these things interest you, something contained herein will affect someone  you love, somewhere, sometime.

A GREAT PLACE TO START

If you want just ONE THING, as a starting point, and don’t want an over-abundance of information, just yet, a great place to start is Jim Rohn’s book, 7 STRATEGIES FOR WEALTH AND HAPPINESS.  The audio version is free and accessible on YouTube.

WE ARE THE COMPILATION OF THE CONTENT WE ALLOW TO REPEAT IN OUR HEADS, AND THE PEOPLE  WE SPEND THE MAJORITY OF OUR TIME WITH.

In 2014, when I knew that if I didn’t make some personal changes, I just wouldn’t be capable of going on anymore, in such a hopeless, pain-riddled state, I came across some of Jim Rohn’s content, and it gave me hope.  I started Goodinthehead in 2106, at the suggestion of a friend in Whales, who, to this day, hosts the website for free, telling me that his payment comes from the knowledge that people’s live are being deeply touched through him, and all the content that is shared BECAUSE of him.  In November of 2019, I came across the recommendation of this book through a friend on Facebook.  I wish I had started my new life in 2014 with this book!  What a beautiful, well-organized blessing it was, to download and absorb this content!  I share a LOT of content, with a LOT of people, but SO MANY of them have deemed this the most useful content that they have ever come across.

It is my personal belief that there is no such thing as THE truth.  I believe that each of us operates by OUR truth.  This truth comes from and through what we BELIEVE, so beliefs are the most important things we can up-level, upgrade, and optimize.

THE QUALITY OF OUR BELIEFS DETERMINE THE QUALITY OF OUR LIFE EXPERIENCES.

The best, most helpful, most empowering content I have come across, so far, concerning beliefs, inspired me to question ALL of mine, and create The goodinthehead Beliefs Project.  Google it, and get ready to laugh!  It will be easy to determine why I used to live the life I lived, when you see some of the beliefs I had.

The goodinthehead Beliefs Project

After Jim Rohn’s book, my most enjoyed recommendations which have inspired and empowered me the most, are the following books:

-STRESS LESS, ACCOMPLISH MORE, by Emily Fletcher.  This is a highly enjoyable audio book, which gives information about every benefit imaginable that comes from meditation.  It gives a step-by-step checklist at the end how to spend only 15 MINUTES A DAY, practicing this most empowering of tools, which is the most useful tool I have come across, so far, and the place I wish I had started, all along, but just didn’t realize its importance.

It was through Tom Bilyeu’s YouTube show, HEALTH THEORY, that I was first introduced to Emily Fletcher and her amazing stories and teachings.  Here is THAT interview:

-THE COMPOUND EFFECT, by Darren Harday.  This book is also easy to find on YouTube, for free.  If you have not yet read this book, I highly recommend it.  From beginner to billionaire, there are practices, ideas, and habits contained within this book which can and will help ANYONE along, in their own, personal, unique life experience.

-MINDSET, by Carol Dweck, is next on my own, personal list of book recommendations.  This book is an INCREDIBLY EMPOWERING TOOL.  In it, she explains the differences between the FIXED MINDSET (the subconscious programming, and habituated, automated way most of us live by) and the LIMITLESS, GROWTH MINDSET (the higher, more aware and awake, conscious mind, that we are all capable of benefiting by, as soon as we decide.)

Tom Bilyeu, through his show, IMPACT THEORY, first introduced me to the teachings of Carol Dweck, and I will forever be grateful to him for that.  Here is her amazing interview:

-HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE, by Dale Carnegie, is the next book on my list of favorites that I like to recommend.  He or she among us that masters the skills of this book, will master all else in life.  This was my favorite book, from the age of 19, up until the age of 45, when I was introduced to MINDSET.  The information and the stories in this book are old. It’s like cracking open a history book, and blowing off the dust, only to realize you have discovered the Holy Grail!  The information and teachings in this book will FOREVER empower ANYONE who uses it, to incrementally, slowly, surely, steadily, and consistently, improve their abilities and skills of HUMAN CONNECTION, RELATIONSHIP SUCCESS, and INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION.

-THINK AND GROW RICH, by Napoleon Hill, is the next book I recommend to people who ask. Bob Proctor has read this book DAILY, for DECADES.  HE IS A MULTIMILLIONAIRE BECAUSE IF IT.  So many people have created financial wealth because of this book.  Isn’t it, at the very least, worth checking out?  Buying a copy of your own can, and will, forever improve your thinking about the subject of money, creation, and abundance.

There is an amazing video, of Napoleon Hill, sharing the book in his own words on YouTube.

Justine Mader

After reading some content posted by Justine, I HAD to invite her to participate in the goodinthehead, online interview.  I’m so grateful she agreed to contribute, and it is my hope that anyone who is interested to follow her on social media, or reach out to her on a personal level, will gain as much as I have!

Here is Justine’s interview:

  • Can I get an outline, or a short biography of your life, with which I can introduce you ? (A brief history of your family of origin, where and how you grew up, what your mother and father and siblings were like.)

Hey Friends, my name is Justine Mader and I am so honored that you are taking a few minutes to get to know me and my story. I am the middle child of a large family. One of my fondest memories will always be the music we made together growing up, we all sang and played instruments. I grew up simply, in a rural area and was home-schooled with my siblings. We all got along for the most part. My father was strict and my mother had the most giving heart I’ve ever known. There are many hardships that have happened between my father and I. However, I never allowed it to sever our relationship. I am married with my own son and have much to be grateful for. I am pursuing a life where I become the best version of myself in life and business. I have committed to helping others do the same. I am a God fearing woman and will always put Him and family before all else. I am a kind, sweet lady that loves life and simply wants to make a difference in the world. So, I am starting with me.

  • What is your current age?

22

  • Where have you lived?

I was born and raised in Minnesota. Lived here all my life and love this state of all four seasons.

  • What were the most important things you learned during your childhood and earlier years that helped you later in life?

I learned many vital lessons growing up and would love to share a few. At the top of the list I would say that I learned to live my life by my priorities, such as faith and morals, standing up for what I believe honors God. I was given the opportunity to develop a strong work ethic and autonomy to learn.I was taught that we all have gifts and talents and life is best when we are blessing others. Coming from a large family we never had much but we had enough to share and lots of love to give.

  • What were some challenges or disabilities you experienced and what did you gain or benefit from living with and through these?

I was home-schooled, that was very different for people to see and hear about. My education was different compared to many and had its challenges of course but I would not have changed it. There was the stigma of being home-schooled and the assumption that I would struggle in the ‘real’ world. Yes, I did have to learn some things by doing once I went to college but I did amazing! I contributed to the school as a student, as a senate leader and part of the admissions office right out of high school. In fact, I did this as a high school senior. I thrived and those around me did as well. So the challenge of learning new communication with others is actually one of my greatest strengths.

  • What are the practices which you have implemented into your life, which are difficult that have built credibility with yourself and improved your self-esteem?

I have a very strict commitment to myself that I will always be a dependable, I always am a woman of my word. Because of my responsibility in this regard not only am I credible to myself but I am also that way for others. The key is you have to show up committed for yourself first and hold yourself accountable before you can expect others to.  My self-esteem and confidence comes from the knowledge that my integrity is solid and honest. I have nothing to hide or fear.

  • What were your biggest failures/mistakes in life, and what did you learn from them?

I am always failing, in the sense that I am always learning. Truly, failures are lessons and there is no other way to look at them. My greatest mistake would probably be me allowing others to rock my world due to emotions. I care and trust people. I have learned to guard that and create better boundaries and also be more aware of my emotions and acknowledge them but not be ruled by them.

  • Where is your favorite place you have ever been and why?

Easy, Maui, HI! I was there on my honeymoon and would go back in a heartbeat. I loved the new experience, which really was like a new life beginning. In Maui, a cool fact I learned was that most of their plants and what not were imported from other places. Together, everything was beautiful and unique. I compare this to my life as well. I am striving to learn and piece myself together with all the amazing traits and qualities of others. God made my soul and blessed me to be more.  I am completely unique and beautiful.

  • What is your educational background?

I am a proud home-school graduate (Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Home school) and honors graduate of SCTCC. I pursued my college degree and am currently a Licenced Dental Assistant.

  • What jobs/employment have you had?

The typical high school nanny/babysitter was where I started, loved the time I had with the kids! Went to college and started out in the call center and admissions office. Working with fellow students and growing with them was an amazing experience, was grateful for the team that was a huge part of my journey. I got a job as a LDA before I even graduated college which was super exciting and worked for that practice until I had my son this year.  Which was the most fulfilling and why? I think each job had its merit, but the one thing that I feel is consistent with all of them is that I was serving others, caring for people. I am a giver, a listener, a lover of people. My heart was most full when I was volunteering at dental operations for those who could not afford dental care. (Mission of Mercy, Operation Grace)

  • When you feel frustrated, angry, or out of control, what do you do to quickly and effectively return to your baseline emotion? (How do you, “Self-soothe”?)

Breathe, slow and steady, deep and strong. I repeat things to myself such as, this is going to pass, this is happening for me, I can do this, and I pray.

  • If you were to believe in the idea of PRONOIA, and believed that the Universe has conspired on your behalf, EACH AND EVERY MOMENT of your entire life, what moments would prove this belief to be true?

I believe that God does everything on our behalf and believe that moments happen all the time based on what He needs us to do, learn, or recall. Such as the fact that in moments of doubt, He brings a sign, a conversation, a person, something along that shows me that I am on the right track. The answer to a prayer. It is not always the answer that I prayed for, but has always been in my best interest. That is why He is God and I am not.

  • What is a long-lasting, sustainable contribution you would like to make that lasts long after you are gone, and you do you want it to affect?

I would like to leave a legacy, a legacy that blesses God in life and business. One were my life encouraged others to give and love as He did. One where people are inspired when they were in doubt. I want to prove that there is still good in this world because God is within our souls. I want this to affect everyone, everywhere, young and old, because my message is not for just some, it is for all.

  • What are the principles and core beliefs you base your decisions and your life upon?

My faith, I am a Traditional Catholic and I live according to the commandments of the Church. I believe that we are one person in all things, we all have the power to create a better future, there is no limit to God’s blessings or grace in our life. Are there any principles or core beliefs that you altered/improved over the years, as you grew, progressed, and improved? (Old beliefs that didn’t serve you/were harmful vs. New beliefs which benefited you and those around you a great deal.) I have grown as an individual in many ways and I would say that I was raised judging others without realizing it, and now I ask, I am open to hearing others and disagreeing politely.

  • Do you have a morning routine which you adhere to in order to, “Prime your pump,” and empower yourself to be a better, more grounded, centered, focused version of yourself for the day?

Yes and no. As a young mother, I do not always get my morning routine, I have had to create my own version of things that help me be focused and ready to dominate. It usually happens but not always in order. Learning that flexibility is ok and part of this season in my life has been a great lesson as well.

  • What are your favorite 3 quotes and why?

‘Preach always, if necessary use words. St Francis’, My life is a testament. Proverbs 31, the woman I am becoming. ‘Let your smile change the world; don’t let the world change your smile’, I have always believed in the power of a simple smile and it is a free gift to any soul.

  • Do you have a book list of your favorite, most helpful books?

I have many favorite books, top one is the bible, followed by many business books and life books. What are the books on your list and what were the most important points from each one? To many to list, but I think the common thing that I appreciate is that they are all written by other humans that have gone through the same things that I do, fear, pain, doubt, joy, happiness.

  • Who were the most important influential people in your life so far? Who do you consider your mentors?  (This can be someone in your life or someone you have never met.)

Jennifer Allwood is a huge mentor and coach for me in life and business

  • What will your 90-year-old self be most proud of?

I would be most proud of the fact that I tried things, I did not settle for the what if, I did things, and if one door closed I moved to the next one to discover God’s will in becoming the best version of myself.

  • From where do you derive your value and self-worth from the most, and where would you advise a younger version of yourself to look for such things?

It all starts with a relationship with God. Trusting Him even when things look uncertain, He knows. I am His child, He died for me, I am loved. I have a great family, human yes, but they love me. I am a product of my life experiences and am the only one like me, that is pretty priceless.

  • Who or what has been the biggest, most helpful contributors to your life?

My husband has made me whole. I am who I am because of his love and support and don’t even want to think about life without him.

  • What have been the most helpful and effective healing tools, which have helped you the most in your own, personal, unique healing journey?

I have had things to heal from, definitely and I think the best thing has been prayer, having a confidant that understands me and my situation. Forgiveness. It is so freeing to forgive others, especially those who are closest to you. Remembering that I am loved and that love conquers all.

  • Is there anything I have not asked you that you would like to share that you believe could benefit others?

I would add that your story is important, someone needs you to show up and speak up, they are waiting for you. You will have an impact on others in a way no one else can. Please do not fail them. This is what drives me to show up, even when I am tempted to doubt, I trust, I know others need me, And if the need me, they need you.

  • What do you believe is the purpose of your life?

The purpose of my life is the same as yours, we are called to know, love and serve God. How we live out our purpose is another thought. I was given a love of people, I have been given many talents that others do not have. I believe the purpose of my life is to spend my life utilizing my talents to help others to become the best version of themselves in life and business.

  • What is your main wish/desire for the loved ones in your life?

To live their best life blessing God and each other. I desire a life of freedom and opportunity. I will always encourage them to be the person God is calling them to be.

  • If presented with an opportunity to make a truly sustainable and lasting difference in this world, what would this offer look like, and how would you contribute to its advancement?

I am living the life of opportunity and showing up consistently. God has His way of running things and I know that by doing my part of giving, and helping others grow, I in turn will grow and gain. What are you currently doing to create this reality and manifest its existence into a reality? I am daily showing up and acting in ways that would help me achieve my goals and dreams. Consistency is key. Being ready is vital, because you do not know when the opportunities will arise but I am ready. There will always be more lives to touch, more people that need help, so the dream is never complete.

I would love to invite others to reach out to me if they are looking to level up in life and business.
