Kingsley Osajie

9/8/2019

These are the answers for the questions from the goodinthehead interview, given by my good friend, Kingsley Osajie.  No we have not yet connected in person; however, I feel connected to this man, and consider it an honor to call him a friend.  He has the mind of a King, and so I find his name fitting.  I hope you get as much as I did from these incredible contributions, found between the lines of his well-thought-out answers.

Until we know EXACTLY what we want,k we can’t start working towards it, and it can’t yet begin to be attracted to us.  If we can see it, we can BE it.  Regard the clarity of Kingsley’s answers, and don’t be surprised when all he wants and desires is soon a reality!

My most RECENT email from Kingsley has to be shared, as he has just published his first children’s book!  Here is the link to a short YouTube video with a book description.

Here is a link with another interview he is featured in, given by Hardy publications:

Can I get an outline, or a short biography of your life, with which I can introduce you? (A brief history of your family of origin, where and how you grew up, what your mother and father and siblings were like.)

Kingsley Osajie: Family of Origin and Biography

My father and mother are from Delta State, Nigeria. We are Nigerians. My father’s name is Richard and my mother’s name is Anna. Father was a lorry driver and mother worked in a petrol station as an attendant. My father is dead. I have two eldest siblings: a boy and a girl (Maureen and Bright). My name is Kingsley. I am the last child of my parents. My parents and siblings are loving, supportive and benign.

What is your current age? What year were you born and where have you lived?

I am 29. I was born in 1990 in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria. I have been living in Nigeria since I was born.

What were the most important things you learned during your childhood and earlier years that helped you later in life?

The first thing I learned in my childhood is self-reliance. My mother always taught me to be strong and independent. Though on my own I have self-reliant spirit; but her words helped to ingrain it in my subconscious mind. I can remember when I was in high school; during the holiday I took up a petty job so that I can make money for myself. Even if I am the last child; it does not make me feel lazy and dependent. Self-reliance and industriousness are things that have become part of my essence and hallmark. Unflinchingly, these life skills have helped me to become a better person—inculcating the spirit of responsibility into me. When I was in college, I worked part time to support myself too.

What were some challenges or disabilities you experienced and what did you gain or benefit from living with and through these?

I did not have any disability. The only challenges I had was delays in living my dreams. I planned to launch into my limelight at 22 or 23; but it did not happen that way. I began pursuing my writing career at 18. From high school I was writing stories and poems. I have always been the boy with the gut and wannabe; but the resistance, twist and turns and hurdles kept me waiting.

What I gained as a lesson from these challenges were that we are here on earth to learn, grow, heal, share our gifts and ultimately transcend into Higher Realms. Those resistances helped me in knowing where I am coming from; working on myself and it really opened my eyes to get a better understanding about life! And yes, I learnt Divine Timing. As Sarah Prout so eloquently puts it “manifestations unfold in perfect Divine timing. Everything is in God’s clock.”

What are the practices which you have implemented into your life, which are difficult that have built credibility with yourself and improved your self-esteem?

The practice of self-love and superiority complex are things I don’t joke with! They are an INTEGRAL part of me! I have a tough mind. No, you cannot tame me because I AM POSITIVELY REBELLIOUS, untrammeled, quirky and maverick. Yes, I have been implementing these practices and maintaining them. What I tell folks is “we teach people how to treat us.” This is not an easy thing to do. Because it will make you look like a black sheep. But I can guarantee you that when you manifest these energies; you become charismatic—people will respect you and that is when you know that you are WORTHY. No ONE is better than YOU. We are all unique. For example, right from my childhood to date; I intuitively have this attitude of high self-esteem. I DO NOT belittle myself, people-please or grovel at all. Even if I did not come from an affluent family; I do not let that make me feel inferior or unfortunate at all.

I also practice gratitude. At first, it did not make sense to me. It was not easy in the beginning; but I later learnt that a grateful mind is a magnet for miracles. To quote Kathryn Speakes Large in The Power of Gratitude; “Gratitude is a powerful expression of emotion that set the Universe into action at the highest frequency of love. Focusing on that which one is grateful for initiates the release and flow of receipt of your highest good in miraculous way.” I think I agree with that. That is why no matter what is showing up in my reality; I always give thanks to the Universe because It is all-knowing.

What were your biggest failures/mistakes in life, and what did you learn from them?

I do not have any mistakes in life because I know my onion. The only failure I have had was not being able to get my books published and start living my dreams. But there is a reason for the delay. What I learnt from these failures is resiliency and perseverance.

Where is your favorite place you have ever been and why?

I love being in the company of masterminds, friends, and mentors.  I really love the mojo and camaraderie of likeminded people. I would not trade it for anything!  You are who you associate with! On the other hand, the favorite place I love to be is the river! My mom always told me that when I was a child, I was fond of water. That no matter the amount of water she bathed me with; I would go back to the bathing tub; poking fun and splashing myself with water. I dismissed it as a cliché; but as I began to grow up—I began to have this “pull” for the water world. Think of it, there is absolutely nothing you can do without water! In the Lakota way of prayer; “mni wiconi” they said (meaning water is life)—and that’s true! Guess what, I am writing a book about Mermaid. I think I carry that energy (if you say I am a Merman; then you are right!)

I love the Water World!

What is your educational background?

I have a College degree in Political Science/Social Studies.

What jobs/employment have you had? Which was the most fulfilling and why?

Well, I have had some jobs. To wit:  I have worked in a Café as a computer operator, I have worked as a secretary and I have worked as a teacher.

When you feel frustrated, angry, or out of control, what do you do to quickly and effectively return to your baseline emotion? (How do you, “Self-soothe”?)

Before I answer this, let me say that when you are able to guide your energy you become a very powerful “manifestor” (allow me the liberty to use that word! Lols!!). When I find myself in a lower vibrational state; I employ -mindfulness. Mindfulness is an art I am becoming more aligned with. It certainly will not make you perfect; but it can create harmony, balance, soundness of mind, peace and amp up your mojo and camaraderie—ultimately making you wiser and a good person—giving you a good life. Honestly, I am not limited to mindfulness only.

Most times, I go for a healing bath in the river. And that raises my vibration. For example, I found myself in a cranky mood sometime ago; I took a walk to the river. After my healing bathe in the river; I felt refreshed and I found myself back in higher vibrations!

If you were to believe in the idea of PRONOIA, and believed that the Universe has conspired on your behalf, EACH AND EVERY MOMENT of your entire life, what moments would prove this belief to be true?

I can say every moment of my life. The fact is that the Universe is always working for us. Sometimes, something might be seeming wrong—and yet it is getting better. I can refer to my college days; because despite the difficulties and challenges I had; I was able to graduate successfully. Plus, I am making a comeback to my writing career; because I have picked up my pen and started writing again. I have been on an “involuntary hiatus.” Yes, the Universe ALWAYS has my back!

What is a long-lasting, sustainable contribution you would like to make that lasts long after you are gone, and who do you want it to affect?

I love to see mankind raise their consciousness because a mind stretched by new knowledge can never go back to its prior form. It is my heartfelt desire to see people step into the fire of self-discovery and sprout the life they love. “As Mooji so eloquently puts it, “step into the fire of self-discovery, this fire will not burn you. It will only burn what you are not.”  And this I am doing by my writing—though my books are unpublished. I also have a group on Facebook. It is called Kingsley Cares For You! www.facebook.com/kingsleycaresforyou. In addition to this, I also love to follow the example of what Mother Theresa has done and achieved.

What are the principles and core beliefs you base your decisions and your life upon?

One of my core beliefs is that I AM POSSIBLE! I also have this core belief that life is a game of boomerangs. It is my principle to be doing unto others what I love to be done to me.

Are there any principles or core beliefs that you altered/improved over the years, as you grew, progressed, and improved? (Old beliefs that didn’t serve you/were harmful vs. New beliefs which benefited you and those around you a great deal.)

Yes! I used to have the belief that for you to become successful in life you must come from an affluent family. And again, I used to think that it is not possible for you to have your desires effortlessly or in a platter of gold! I used to have this belief that you must struggle or suffer before you can manifest your dreams. Unknowingly; this belief was creating some energetic resistance for me. Eventually, I realized that our beliefs create our reality because life follows our thoughts and beliefs. And what is a belief? A belief is an idea in your mind! Thoughts becomes things—everything around came into reality as a result of “thought.” But as I began to have my spiritual awakening and personal development; I realized that these beliefs were very wrong belief! And I changed it. As the beautiful ethereal singing Irish singer (Enya) said, “only if you want to; you can have your way. Only if you want to, you can cease the day.” Dolly Parton also said it well “one is only poor only if they choose to be.” These statements were the things that propelled me to start changing my beliefs. As I progressed, I learnt a better new belief which I always harp to people “life is not about being a martyr or working your fingers to the bone. It is about being grateful, abundant and happy. The Universe can work from the place of joy and comfort.

I encourage everyone to change their thoughts. Think positive. Any thought or belief that will not create a good reality for you is not true for you and it need not be true for you and you don’t have to accept it as true.

Do you have a morning routine which you adhere to in order to, “Prime your pump,” and empower yourself to be a better, more grounded, centered, focused version of yourself for the day?

Oh yes! I wake up at 5:00am and spend ten minutes in my sacred place in my room. To meet up with my timing; I set my alarm to be few minutes before 5:00am so that before I finish “booting” (lols!!) it would be 5:00am. Then I spark conversation with the Divine by meditation, mindfulness, affirmations and gratitude. Thereafter, I dress my bed, sweep my room and make sure my stuffs are well arranged. I love organizing and tidying up my room. And it has become habitual to me.

The next thing will be taking my bath, breakfast and I am set for the day. I love to put a crystal in my pocket to help me hold a high vibration as well.

What are your favorite 3 quotes and why?

One of my all-time favorite quote is the words of this beautiful African Diva (Brenda Fassie) “Ngumuntu gabantu.” That is a Zulu word that means “a person is a person through another person.” And that is true because NO MATTER the talent you have; someone must hold the “ladder” for you. No man is an Island! NO MATTER what you desire to achieve in this life; the Universe will give it to you using a person, a human being!

“Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow.” Ralph Waldo Emerson (Sage of Concord). This quote encourages me to be curious. And I can say that curiosity is the mother of invention. I am an Alchemist of Transformation because I seek to know and learn new things to combine with the ones I have already known. For example, you don’t cook a soup with ONLY ONE ingredient (you know what I mean)

“The most important day in your life is the day you were born and the day you know why.” Lisa Nichols. Many people are just existing and not living. It is important to know your purpose of choosing to come and play this “Earth Game.” What are you known for? What talents do you have? When you know your purpose of being on this Earth then you will know who you are!  But unfortunately; most people don’t know themselves! They follow consensus. This quote from Lisa Nichols has really spurred me to discover and tap into more of my Dharma—and yes, the Law of Dharma is the Ultimate of all Lives!

Do you have a book list of your favorite, most helpful books? What are the books on your list and what were the most important points from each one?

My favorite and most helpful books are: The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale, The Game of Life and How to Play It by Florence Scovel Shinn, Seven Laws of Spiritual Success by Deepak Chopra, Outwitting The Devil by Napoleon Hill, The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattle, An Awakening: Mapping Your Dream by Suzanne Hosang.

These books helped me to reprogram my mindset, inculcated more wisdom into me. But my pick among all these books is An Awakening: Mapping Your Dream by Suzanne Hosang.  The book is a Pearl and it was what helped me to heal from the “shame,” pain and break barriers that have been standing in my way.

Who were the most important influential people in your life so far? Who do you consider your mentors?  (This can be someone in your life or someone you have never met.)

They are many but I will name the ones I can remember. And they are: Norman Vicent Peale, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Oprah Winfrey, Mother Theresa, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Brenda Fassie, Tony Robbins, Mooji, Debbianne DeRose, Florence Scovel Shinn, Sarah Prout, Suzanne Hosang, Napoleon Hill, Jeannette Maw, Serena Williams Phineas Quimby.

What will your 90-year-old self be most proud of?

I am going to sound quirky here and I am quirky. I don’t intend to live up to 90 at all. That agey-thing don’t appeal to me. I am okay with 77-year-old. So, I will say that my 77-year-old will be proud of being able to live my dream, fulfilled, successful, prosperous and happy as a Luminary and Godfather.

From where do you derive your value and self-worth from the most, and where would you advise a younger version of yourself to look for such things?

I derive my value from reading the Bible and other spiritually uplifting books—which is a way of aligning myself with the Universe. Learning from Masterminds (my mentors) and reading success stories is another source I derive my value and self-worth. And I would encourage a younger version of myself to seek for it from these things I have mentioned.

Who or what has been the biggest, most helpful contributors to your life?

My mother and Suzanne Hosang

What have been the most helpful and effective healing tools, which have helped you the most in your own, personal, unique healing journey?

Crystals have been an integral part of my healing tools. I use crystals to boost my energy and vibrations. Now, crystals are sentient beings which I have grown to love and respect. Tapping into these sentient stones could not have been more victorious and soothing. I tell you, crystals can dispel negative energies and entities. I can testify to that. For example, few weeks ago, I noticed that I was not in a high vibration. I reached out for my tourmaline black and clear quartz; held them in my palms. Lying down in an oneiric state; I could feel there was some negative energies looming around—and then I tapped into the power of the crystals—and then I said subliminally “negative energies, return to sender.” And I had a mental picture of what was coming but it was dispelled! And I slept. I woke up feeling refreshed, fortified and grounded. Healing is a process.

Now one fact I love to point out about crystals is this. It’s not enough to have crystals. Crystals are not slaves that you can just pick on to do your bidding. You must treat your crystals with respect, ask their permission and set your intentions. And remember to be charging them with the moonlight, sunlight, etc. there are some crystals that are compatible with water and there are some that are not. I remember one day, I was having this feelings of unworthiness, negative thoughts and limiting beliefs lingering on my mind. It was my tourmaline black that I used to clear those lower energies—holding it my palm with mindfulness and intention. Within 7 minutes, a new surge of higher vibrations and energies came into me. I was full of verve.

 My beautiful crystal collection:

Is there anything I have not asked you that you would like to share that you believe could benefit others?

Yes.

I love to be a Singer subsequently. I am a budding singer. It is my dream to collaborate with Johnny Manuel in my songs and share the same stage with him. He has a mellifluous voice! I always play his video on America Got Talent where he covered Whitney Houston ‘I Have Nothing’ on repeat! Johnny Manuel and I have similar story. If you have watched this video you will understand what I mean. I think Johnny Manuel is genial and talented just as I am too. And I love his mojo!

It is also my dream to become a Healer and a Spiritual Teacher in future like Mooji, Florence Scovel Shinn, Sarah Prout, Norman Vincent Peale.

I am an adventurer. My travel destinations are: USA, China, Greece, South Africa, London, Mauritius, Iceland, Japan, India, Israel, Brazil, Peru, Switzerland and Australia

What do you believe is the purpose of your life?

The purpose of my life is to use my unique gifts and talents in this lifetime; and help to make great change in the world.

What is your main wish/desire for the loved ones in your life?

I wish for them to live their dreams and sprout the life they love.

If presented with an opportunity to make a truly sustainable and lasting difference in this world, what would this offer look like, and how would you contribute to its advancement?

I would seek to obliterate racism and religious intolerance. We are all from the Stars; and made in the image of God/Source/Almighty of which are Highest Vibrations all-round. Why can’t we always be reflecting and radiating the Higher Vibrations to our fellow humans?  You see, in the eyes of the Creator we are all ONE and EQUAL. For example, what Jean Cramer (the councilor from Marysville, Michigan) is not for the highest good of all and it is not in harmony with the way Universe works. We are all one. People like her need reorientation, enlightenment and yes, she needs to expand her consciousness and stretch her mind.

I would love to stop the animosity on the LGBT community and become an LGBT activist. I will begin by creating awareness for people to understand that we’re ONE and EQUAL in the eyes of the Creator. You don’t have to apologize for your sexual orientation. ACCEPT your sexual orientation, LIVE it and EXPRESS it. Life will not treat you bad for your sexual orientation. You are WORTHY. It’s only when you make a wrong choice that’s when life becomes bad. It matters not who you love or the gender you are attracted to. Any gender you form union with is YOUR OWN business! And that should be RESPECTED. What MATTERS is that you love because love is NOT linear. Love IS multidimensional. And WE ARE all God’s children; LOVED unconditionally.

I will also use my books to educate humanity. My ideal offer would be to build schools, orphanages and hospitals—have a radio program, documentary and movie for the adaptation of my books.

What are you currently doing to create this reality and manifest its existence into a reality?

I write always. And I write in all genres. At this moment I am writing a book about Law of Attraction. A lot of people have misunderstood the Law of Attraction. Life is too big and colossal to be presented scientifically. Most Law of Attraction “experts” have gotten it all wrong. It takes only one grain of sand to tip the scale in either direction; hence I am tipping the scale in this regard—to make people have a better understanding of Law of Attraction.

Do I have your permission to share/publish your interview?

Yes.

Writings by Kingsley:

Understanding Manifestation

Written by: Kingsley Osajie

We all have the ability to MANIFEST whatever we desire. The TRUTH is, we CAN create ANY reality for ourselves—either deliberately (consciously) or by allowing (unconsciously). One thing I have grown to learn and understand is this: EVERYONE is practicing Law of Attraction—consciously or unconsciously. Law of Attraction is not reserved for some “special people.” Even before I heard of Law of Attraction I have been manifesting thingsmy diving deep into Law of Attraction is just a plus! Before now, I used to thinkthat the Law of Attraction “experts had it all to themselves and that it was all peachy-keen for them! Upon closer inspection, I found out that they too had their own challenges.

The only difference that counts in manifesting is your “tool.” The sharpness of your tool determines the speediness of your manifestations. By tools, I mean your beliefs, thoughts, attitude, feelings and choices. Those whom we call Law of Attraction “experts” have sharper tools.” There are those who are not called Law of Attraction experts; but are manifesting mavenon their own right; they know how to work the magic of behind the scene to get what they want. And I fall into this second category. In truth, NO ONE is excluded from the hiccups of this 3D! Here is what Katy Perry said:

When I am in between records, sometimes I doubt myself. I’ll be like ‘Did I just get lucky, or did I mass-manipulate the world into thinking that seven songs were worth a number-one position?’ And then I go back into the studio and I start writing, and the true essential oil of who I am comes bubbling back up and reminds me that it’s always been inside of me, that nobody can take this away no matter what comment anyone makes.”

—Katy Perry on her confidence as a songwriter

Now, when it comes to manifesting our dreams, we face barriers. Sometimes, it is not all about not having the financial capacity. It could be a barrier from the energetic aspect: beliefs, thoughts and subliminal whatever… We are all from the Stars; and made in the image of God/Source/Almighty of which are Highest Vibrations all-round. Why can’t we always be reflecting and radiating the Higher Vibrations? Why do the gremlins and gargoyles trip us up with unworthiness philosophy, negative thoughts and suchwhen we are on our way to manifest our dreams? Why do we have to contend with the gremlins and gargoyles in order to be in a place of Higher Vibrations which makes it easier for our dreams to manifest? I wonder it. For example, a lion gives birth to a lion and the young lion reflects 100% the characteristics of its source of life without deviating; why then is it hard for ushumans who are higher in intelligence than animals not reflect, manifest and radiate vibrations of God/Source/Universe. Sometimes, we battle with self-sabotage and limiting beliefs just because we are aiming to manifest a dream or thinking big to sprout the life we love.

The TRUTH is Source Energy is all-encompassing. It’s the “all-that-is” and so naturally, all must include everything… yes including the gremlins and gargoyles! We are part of Source or the Universe. We are Infinite Spirit Beings, and part of our infinite experience is playing this Earth Game as human beings. A distinguishing characteristic of this Earth Game (as opposed to many of the infinite games or experiences we can and do have as infinite beings) is FREE WILL. As physically incarnated human beings, we have free will to create our reality here.

Naturally, with all this Free Will in the Earth Game, we experience a wide variety of results. Some behaviors we consider to be bad or even horrendous, understandably so. But from the perspective of Source Energy, it’s all part of our growth. When you encounter someone behaving in a way that does not feel loving, how do you respond? It takes a lot of spiritual backbone to respond with love to someone who has strayed far from love. And yet, this is our challenge in this very challenging Earth Game.

Yes, we are all here co-creating together in the same reality sandbox, and yet… each being’s reality is personal to them. It’s a paradox. Embracing paradox is a fantastic skill that allows you feel more peaceful, not pushing for resolution.  Acceptance and Love arehigher vibrational states that ripple outward and give other people permission (if they’re wanting it) to choose Love over Fear to manifest whatever their desire is! All we can do is be the ideal versions of ourselves, and by doing so, we can inspire other people who are ready to be inspired.

About the gremlins and gargoyles within—the negative thoughts, limiting beliefs and such… it’s our entanglement with others, and that’s part of what makes the Earth Game so challenging. All these thought-forms exist, but are not necessarily our own! They are not actually personal to us. They are part of the group-think consciousness. We can embrace each thought as “truth” for us, or let it pass like clouds in the sky. It takes intention and practice to cultivate sufficient awareness of the mind’s contents. The challenging nature of this Earth Game is what makes it so popular! We come here with a sporting attitude, as spirits. Finding your way back to what’s true; to let your true self BE and shine through.

Our Higher Selves know all about all of this stuff and they’re totally fine with it. Though we suffer greatly while inside the Earth Game, when we leave, it’s just like stepping off a crazy rollercoaster. So the sooner we adopt that laid-back Higher Self attitude, the happier we can be in the Earth Game, right here and right now. If we can view ALL experience through the eyes of Source/Universe, rather than through the filters of human judgmentality, then we see only beauty and spiritual expansion, and we experience acceptance and appreciation of all of it. Not that it’s easy to do so 100% of the time. It’s to be expected that we waver and pop in and out of these different perspectives, because that’s part of the game too!

A lot of time, we hear Law of Attraction “experts” tell us “Ask. Believe. Receive,” but I want to let you know that it does not always happen that way! It is really difficult to describe what has to happen in the Etheric Realm first before our dreams can manifest here on earth physically. And I remind you that the Intangible PRECEDES the Tangible! “Everything, every moment is a manifestation of something…”

The art of manifestation of our dreams and desires into reality is Alchemy. It cannot be measured. For example, if someone set their intention and uses a vision board with the necessary vibrational alignment; in the end he manifests his desires. It is the same as someone who sets his intentions and submits the request to the Undines or someone who sets her intention and puts the request to the Gnomes. What matters most is that in the end, they all manifested their desires! Different approach; same result—hence the old saying: “there are many ways to kill a rat. As Ikkyu (the Japanese philosopher) so eloquently puts it: “Many paths lead up the mountain; but at the top, we look at the same bright moon.” The Universe is unlimited! And it can deliver our “goods” in different ways. Whenever you set your intention you MUST always use this affirmation to close it up: “I accept this_____ or something even better.” For instance, you set the intention to buy a Lexus Jeep. Don’t just focus on that Lexus Jeep; close it up with the above phrase. Now, what if the Universe wants to give you a Ferrari? I am sure you certainly will not reject a Ferrari! Even if you don’t have the means. Remember the Universe works in diverse ways. A relative or an uncle in a faraway land could just be nudged by the Universe to shower you some love and he could wake up one morning and say “Ah! My dear cousin let me send himFerrari! Anything is possible!

If you have set your intention to manifest anything, please DETACH from the outcome. Be grateful for what you have first. Gratitude is attitude. Don’t tell the Universe how it should come! The Universe knows better than you. Desperation, neediness and attachment are REPELLANT energy. You must also remember Divine Timing. As Sarah Prout said, “Manifestation unfolds in PERFECT Divine Timing; everything is in Gods clock.”

When you have set your intentions and your “goods” has not yet arrived, understand these points:

i. Maybe you are not well aligned vibrationally. That is where the “tools” comes in.
ii. The Universe wants to give you something even better and it is cooking and conspiring it from the Etheric Realm where the magic starts. Remember, if it does not happen in the Higher Realms first, there is NO WAY it can happen here physically
iii. Maybe not yet time. Due to the fact that there are some sorts of resistance preventing you—maybe karma, negative (family) pattern, etc which you must clear so that you can manifest your dreams.

As you go about manifesting your dreams, remember to take inspired action and surrounding yourself with likeminded people who will support you in manifesting your dreams. “A person is a person through another person.” Brenda Fassie. No one has achieved success without the mentoring, support and wisdom of others because it takes a village to raise a child.

The Secret did not cover all the fact about manifesting. I have read it. It only presented Law of Attraction as the be-all-end-all of creating our realityand manifesting our desires. But I am putting to you that Reality Creation/Manifesting is a two-way thing: you decide what you want to manifest and your Higher Self/God/Universe/Angels decides how and when it should come. Here is what Abraham said (a non-physical entity channeled by Ester Hicks) “You cannot make anything happen. Universal forces have been kept in place for all of that. Your job is to determine what you want.” Now, don’t get it wrong. Abraham is not saying we cannot create our own reality. Rather he is saying that we must co-create the Universe to have the reality we want. And how will you be able to manifest without the help of the Universe? For you to be able to manifest your desires or sprout the life you love; you must BEFRIEND your Higher Self/Angels/Spirit Guides/Universe/God or whatever name you want to call it. They dwell in the domain of the “how.” The how is where the power is and they KNOW the road more than you do!

I was recently made aware of this man and his teaching, ideas, and useful tools.  I have been consuming as much of his content as I can.  I am wondering if anyone else has opinions, thoughts, and inspired ideas that were sparked while hearing his content for the first time.  I am going to share what I thought of as possible new, useful beliefs to use as a springboard up to a higher level of consciousness and living.  I would absolutely love any feedback about his teachings and what I wrote down.  Opposing views are welcomed and appreciated.  I’ve found those views to be the most useful, at times.  Thank you!  Here is some of the content I listened to, if anyone is interested:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv4CdX0Mrtg

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNdDoTPCOi8

He has many three and four-minute videos that are worth watching, as well.

Here are some of the things I thought of while listening to some of his content:

-Our inner, divine light is waiting to be realized, remembered and accessed.  It is waiting to be fed, nurtured, and fueled, so that it can be more of what it is-a useful fire within that is a tool to enhance and optimize EVERYTHING about our existence during this life experience.

-Is this life a simulation or a program being run?  Is this body I inhabit a simulator?

-Inner enlightenment, without an immediate or eventual OUTER expression, isn’t true or useful enlightenment.  Try something else.  Keep experimenting.

-DO MORE TO BE MORE may be bullshit.  Realize that already perfect, whole, capable self that is deep within, discover how to more fully access the divine seed within, and just BE.  Everything will then naturally, effortlessly, and easily fall into place, the best way it possibly can, exactly as it is meant to.

-No need to focus energy on ELIMINATING things from our lives, like beliefs, habits, people, things, etc.  Simply REPLACE them, through the law of displacement, and focus ALL of your energy, attention, and thoughts on EXACTLY what you want and desire for GREATER CONTRIBUTION.

-We are not taught ANYTHING.  We do not LEARN anything.  We are REMEMBERING the things we perceive that we are learning.  All we can do for others is help them remember what they already know.  All we need is already within us.  All we want is already within us.  The divine spark that is awaiting our rediscovery and remembrance contains ALL, already.  We all come from the same perfect, whole, complete Source.

-A thought that is consistently repeated finds footing, gains traction, picks up speed and momentum, then generates an electromagnetic energy that manifests itself as a progressively higher frequency.  This higher frequency, when repeated frequently, manifests itself in the physical realm.  It becomes a belief, then a spoken word, then an action.  Once the action is repeated and practiced, it becomes an repetitive hormonal and chemical dump, and then a chemical pattern.  This pattern becomes a useful, beneficial, automated addiction, and then it becomes a habit, then a characteristic, and eventually a personality trait.  This personality trait, when repeated and practiced consistently, pulsates at an even higher frequency, and aligns with the higher frequency the Universe has been awaiting for us to align with, in order to physically manifest synchronized happenings in our lives through people, circumstances, things, wealth, healing, and all things we could ever want or need.

-We can literally program these physical bodies to automatically respond to ANYTHING we consciously choose to focus our energy, focus, and repetitive, habitual routines to.  We can use the senses to ANCHOR, or be used as TRIGGER POINTS, to automate the body, then use all the conscious efforts, focus, and energy we no longer need for these automations to create and contribute on a much higher level.  Research NLP more extensively.  Decide what you want automated.

-It’s not about creating the NEW you, as much as it is about remembering and accessing the REAL you, and what you already ARE.  Deity, wrapped up in a conglomeration of cells, given amnesia, and limitless opportunities for practicing the art of creation.  Once you are awakened to this, it is time to learn how to program and use this body  for what it is meant for:  A TOOL to contribute progressively more in the physical realm, while BEING the perfect masterpiece you already are, at all times, by doing your best at all times.  Our best, when consistently practiced, consistently becomes better.  Just like ALL things, this is a learnable, practicable skill.  The physical body, and all that it is, is for expression and contribution.

-An AWAKENING is like a reset, or a reboot.  If we are likened unto a computer, what hardware would we be?  The hard drive?  The RAMM?  The microprocessor?  What are ALL possible analogies between the body, mind, and spirit, and a computer?  Hardware and software upgrades?

-“There are no problems, only PUZZLES.” -Jesse Elder

-Lean into that which energizes you, and avoid or flee from that which sucks the energy from you.

-“Life offers us such a RICH SPECTRUM of experiences.” -Jesse Elder

-For YEARS, I have held space for the belief that I need more time, or that I need more money.  I thought I had to make up for time that was, “lost,” while I was busy learning things the, “hard way.”  My needs are met.  ALL of them.  Everything has unfolded EXACTLY the PERFECT way for me.  It was all meant to be as it was.  ALL things happened in my best interest.  There was no lost time.  I have nothing to make up for.  All that happened, happened so that I would BE in THIS EXACT moment, EXACTLY as I AM.

-Get comfortable with the feelings that accompany change and growth, or you will spend all of your existence fleeing from those feelings.  Instead of fleeing, FEEL, BE, and progress, grow, and evolve, as we are all meant to.

-STOP LOOKING FOR WHAT IS TRUE, AND START LOOKING FOR WHAT IS USEFUL!!!  We can adopt ANY truth (belief) to create the reality we want.  Go with what is MOST useful:  TOOLS that have worked for others.  Find someone who has created something similar to what you envision your dream existence to be like, and experiment with what they have experimented with.

-Learn to pierce time and go forward to who you are.  Get your own advice and move forward with it.  Meditation?

A few of these ideas seem out there, but the conversations I listened to sparked these ideas within me.  Let me know what you think!  I eagerly await your feedback on any or all of these ideas, as well as any more you may wish to share.

BEING DIFFERENT IS A GOOD THING.  It offers up an opportunity for diversity, inclusion, connection, new friendships, and growth.

A friend posted this, and it made me think about something very near and dear to my heart: My oldest son.

https://www.facebook.com/imjoshshipp/videos/438721396985403/

As the father of a son who was diagnosed with Asperger’s at the age of 11, and type 1 diabetes at the age of 10, watching this short video really hit home.  My son wasn’t only shunned and ignored all throughout Junior High school and High school for being different.  He was emotionally and verbally attacked.  He was abused.  He was ridiculed and treated with cruelty.  He was ostracized.  As this was taking place, many of the kids joined in, or simply turned a blind eye, not wanting to take the spotlight from my son and shine it on themselves, becoming the new punching bag for unhappy, angry, confused kids who only had the desire to destroy others, instead of building them up.  Nobody should have to be treated in this manner.  Not ever.

When I observe people showing kindness, patience, and acceptance towards others, it affects me.  It reminds me of how cool I think that is, and inspires me to do the same, regardless of who it is.  When I observe someone sticking up for, or protecting someone else, who may currently be incapable of doing it for themselves, I am impressed, influenced, and inspired to remember to always to the same.  Nothing is more impressive in this world to me, than one human being looking out for another, especially when they have absolutely no obligation to.

My son  made it through those rough years.  He survived.  He is almost 24 years old. He has been working full-time at the same place for almost 5 years.  He is responsible, reliable, dependable, and accountable.  He is highly intelligent and hyper-focused, and extremely capable of valuable contributions to anyone he chooses to spend time with.  He learned throughout the years, however, from his experiences with thousands of kids and even cruel strangers in public, to build up a wall for protection from the cruel and unjust of this world, to be careful with who he trusts and let’s in, and where he spends the majority of his time.

As a teenager, he was strong, all alone, and entirely by himself.  Of course, he had us, his family-but at that age, kids usually have a deep desire for meaningful connections and friendships.  As his father, had I known back then what I know now, I know I could have done more for him, and been there for him in ways he really needed, but back then, I didn’t have the experience or wisdom of life to guide me.  Honestly, I was so self-centered and focused on my own happiness, or the lack thereof, that I was incapable of giving him all he truly needed at that time.  As it turns out, all of that had a purpose.

My son was always different from the other kids he grew up around.  We are mostly taught to conform and be the same as others, in order to fit in, not draw attention to ourselves, and to be a part of a group which will protect us, if ever we need it.  My son was never really the type to conform, or to fit into a box which others wanted him to live in.

Ever heard the term, “Think outside of the box?”  Well, I am pretty sure that from a young age, he realized that there is no box.  From the age of two, until he was almost five, he wore a batman costume with a cape.  We thought it was cute, and since this was our first child, we also thought it was perfectly normal!  Honestly, I still believe it was.  Who doesn’t want to wear a superhero costume, and assume the identity of our own idea of greatness?!

The first five years, it didn’t dawn on my that he may be different, just normal.  When he was at the age of 11 to 14, I listened to some doctors, and I was made to believe that he was broken, not normal, disabled, and in need of something to fix him.  I am now ashamed and embarrassed about this, and wish I hadn’t been so quick to believe everything they told me.  There was also purpose in this.  I now know the truth about my son:  He IS different, and I am proud of that, and I am incredibly proud of who he chooses to show up in the world as, each day.  He is absolutely perfect, just as he is, and has been since the day he was born, just like all of the rest of us.  He is also highly intelligent, incredibly focused, predictably dependable, and an incredible example to me of what resilience, inner strength, emotional fortitude, and a growth mindset look like.

Against all odds, he has excelled in so many ways I never thought would be possible, because I really believed what the. “educated folk” were telling me about him.  Under the direction of doctors, I had him put on multiple medications, which dulled his mind and his senses, but made him more controllable and malleable for the staff at the schools he attended.  At the time, I was already on many medications, myself, and so I had the belief that this was normal.

It seems as though, in reality, this HAS become the new normal, with so many of us on medications under the direct supervision of doctors, with the promise that a pill will solve all of our problems.  All any of those pills did to me and my son was deaden our senses, make us more controllable, and dis-empower us from living a life we deserved.

Luckily for my son, his mother wouldn’t have it!  After about a year of counseling, medications, groups, and constant supervision at the schools, she insisted that he be removed from the care of the doctors and taken off of the pills immediately.  She pushed to have him removed from the reality he was currently experiencing, and made sure to constantly and continuously push him out of his comfort zone and into a new life of experiencing new things and exploring future possibilities.  He was removed from the Special Education program at the schools and mainstreamed into regular classes, where the real social difficulties began; however, being off of the medications he was on and being mainstreamed into the regular education classes with no supervision, he had the opportunity to think and learn more quickly, and practice building skills such as greater self-control, social skills, discipline, discernment, and so many others, that he never would have been able to learn or practice had he stayed on his current, advised plan.

He never complained much, and usually just did as he was told, and excelled at whatever he put his mind to.

THE SECRET OF THE UNDERGROUND FORREST:

Radhanath Swami, in his interview with Tom Bilyeu, found on Tom’s YouTube show, IMPACT THEORY, told a story of an experience he had with a friend of his in the Redwood Forest, in California.  He described how he and his friend go there once a year to unplug from and temporarily disconnect from the busy, distracting, fast-paced life which we all live, and reground themselves in the beauty of nature, through the practice of forest bathing.  To their disappointment, they happened upon a group of people, who were being given a tour of the forest by a forest ranger.  Quickening their pace, in order to avoid the energy of the crowd, they tried to hurriedly get past the temporary distraction, but Radhanath Swami overheard the ranger mention that he was going to tell the crowd the, “Secret of The Underground Forrest beneath them.”  Having been a teenager in the 1960’s, and having a proclivity towards secrets, he asked his friend if they could stay for the story.  They were both glad they did.

The forest ranger explained that some of the trees in this particular forest were over 2,000 years old, and had endured some of the most devastating, destructive storms, ever to pummel our planet.  He described that in order for them to have enough strength to endure not only the strong winds in the forest, but also the incredibly destructive storms, they had learned throughout the years to rely upon one another, by reaching their roots out as far as they could towards each other, eventually intertwining the roots, deep in the earth, supporting one another and using one another for the support they needed, in order to survive and weather the wind and the storms.

It is in this way that the human brain works.  As a thought happens, neurons, which look identical to the roots of a tree, reach out and connect, intertwining their roots with one another for strength, stability, and support.  Electrical impulses are used as communication, and when the neurons are touching and intertwined amongst one another, the communication happens more effectively.  When the thought is repeated, more and more neurons reach out and connect, also intertwining their roots, allowing for support, communication, strength, and stability.  If fact, so many neurons are recruited to this repetitive thought, that the other thoughts weaken, and eventually die off, disappearing entirely.  Only the strongest survive.  It is true with trees, and it is true with thoughts.  This is also true with us humans, and together, it is more likely that we survive well.

THE TRUTH OF THE LONE TREE:

A tree by itself, in the middle of nowhere, is a miracle, in and of itself.  To be the only tree to have survived among the many possibilities of trees, speaks to its strength.  You see, it has no support system.  No other trees were capable of surviving the elements.  The elements are against this tree, all along the way, and the battle is on!  Storms rage, wind destroys, and through it all, this lone tree learns to dig its roots deeper, to create stability and strength for itself, knowing that reaching out to connect with others is not an option, and it is only through having a strong and deep foundation that it will survive.

The other fact about the lone tree that must also be examined is this:  To stand alone is dangerous.  Sometimes, due to lack of proper nutrition, they simply snap in half-seemingly for no reason at all, on a bright, sunny day with no wind or weather; however, we all know the real reason it finally snapped in half.  If it had been a part of a larger network of trees, sharing the support, nutrition, strength, and vitality, the lone tree would have survived for hundreds and maybe even thousands of more years, thriving, instead of merely surviving.

It has been studied and proven that we are all better off in a supporting, kind, loving, safe, strong environment, where we are able to get appropriate feedback, adjust our beliefs and mindsets, and progressively, constantly, and consistently improve our lives through connections with others.  This is true for EVERYONE.

My son is like this lone tree.  He is a fighter.  He has known struggle and defeat.  He has experienced heartache and sorrow.  He is relentless.  He has learned that failure, mistakes, and pain, are a normal part of life.  He has also chosen NOT to be a quitter.  Quitting has never been an option for him, and I am so glad.  He knows pain, just like we all do, but he has known more pain than most, and has become stronger, wiser, and better because of it.  Looking back at his life now, I am able to finally see how is was all necessary to happen and unfold just as it did, to turn out as beautifully and magnificently as it did.  There was purpose behind all of it.

There is a short movie on YouTube called, THE BUTTERFLY CIRCUS.  In it is found one of my favorite quotes of all time: “The greater the struggle, the more glorious the triumph.”  This doesn’t just remind me of my eldest son.  It reminds me of us all.

We all experience the pain of things happening to us in this lifetime.  We are all victimized by this life through experiences, circumstances, unfairness, and the unjust acts of angry, abused, ill-mannered people; however, suffering is a choice, and how long we remain a victim is entirely up to us, since how we choose to believe, think, speak, act, and respond, is entirely within our own control.

All these years later, I discovered a word that has quickly become one of my main mantras in life:  PRONOIA.  The meaning is basically this:  The Universe was designed from the beginning to conspire on our behalf.

One empowering belief, that is in alignment with PRONOIA, is that this life is continuously happening FOR us, not TO us.

Everything in life has a purpose behind it, even if while going through our difficulties and trials, we can’t see it.  Life has a way of unfolding, naturally, and it seems like the more we try to control the outcomes, the more surprised we are by them, because they never turn out the way we want them to.  Through the idea of pronoia, and some incredible life coaches, mentors, teacher, and my own parents, and especially through my wife and all of our children, I have realized that I can’t control anything but myself, and even that proves to be difficult a lot of the time.

My oldest son’s life experience, up to this point, has been painful, but so beautiful.  He is one of the greatest, most beautiful, meaningful highlights of my life, and a constant example of incredible strength, an indomitable spirit, resilience, and hope.  He has many talents, one of which is editing video content, and video content creation, which I am not really good at, yet.  Together, we are beginning a new project for the goodinthehead website, including video content and a podcast show, which is set to start coming out monthly, January of 2020!  I am so excited to spend time with my son and learn all I can from him, because the truth is, like trees, we are stronger when our souls and energies are intertwined, and I think it is highly probable that I need him more than he will ever need me.

The point behind sharing all of this is as follows:  Sometimes we see trees out there, all by themselves.  Planting seeds of kindness and acceptance all around them can help.  Some trees are actually up-rooted and removed from their locations, recognized as valuable because of their uniqueness, beauty, and strength.  These trees are then relocated to a better place, where they can be well taken care of, benefit greatly from the nutrients in the soil which so many other trees feed off of, intertwine their roots within the underground matrix for added strength and support, and truly thrive from and through connection.

Reminder to self:  In a world where we are all trying to fit in, look for the ones who are daring to have the courage to be different, or simply different because that is who they are.  Befriend them.  Be kind to them.  Build them up.  Look for and seek out commonalities, and traits or interests you may have in common.  Treat them with the same acceptance, appreciation, and love that you would want others to treat you with.  Connect with them, build an environment of trust with them, and practice learning to better THRIVE, TOGETHER.

By doing so, you may be unknowingly throwing someone a lifeline.  You may be saving their life.  You will make a much larger impact than you know, just by reaching out and being kind.

When we add value to others and build them up, we naturally become more valuable.  When we do this consistently, we vibrate at a higher frequency, and attract people, situations, circumstances, and wisdom into our lives, just as consistently.  It is uncomfortable, at first, to reach out to strangers, but when we show a sincere interest in them and a connection with them, it gets easier.  Not everyone will want a connection with you, or be ready to do anything but lash out in pain, but that is okay.  That is normal.  Keep at it.  It gets easier.  Connection is a learnable, attainable, practicable skill that can and will benefit us all.

Degenerative Disc Disease

7-15-2019

I am going through something incredibly difficult and painful right now. Writing about this may be considered a little too open, honest, and transparent.  It may be considered by some as an over share. However, I’m going to share this anyway, in hopes that it reaches someone who needs to hear it or read it, who may be going through something similar.

For 20 years I have been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease.

The last time I ruptured or herniated a disc was five years ago, in 2014.  Yesterday, I leaned over to tie my shoes while sitting in a chair, and herniated a disc.  Admittedly, I have been slacking off from my normal, habitual, daily routines, and this experience serves as an excellent reminder how important my daily nutritional intake and my daily exercise routines are.

Throughout the years, because of degenerative disc disease, I have suffered through periods of extreme pain and discomfort, being unable to walk or move for weeks or months at a time, which has caused me to lose many jobs.  It has caused reactions and results from me including depression, feelings of hopelessness, thoughts of suicide, and feelings of complete and utter worthlessness.

Thankfully, over the years, I have come across many tools to use to battle the depression, hopelessness, and thoughts of suicide and worthlessness. Many of these tools have been implemented as a daily routine, helping me to heal much more quickly and live a much more enjoyable, fulfilling, pain-free lifestyle.

I am going to share with you how I USED to deal with these things, making myself vulnerable and exposing myself for the imperfect human I am, then I’m going to share how I NOW deal with these things, (Yes, I am still far from perfect, finally learning it’s actually about PROGRESS, not PERFECTION,) in hopes that someone who may need this information can try these things out for themselves, experiment with them, and find out if these things will work for them or not.

Years ago, with a younger mind, a lower level of grit and emotional fortitude, and less experience with pain, these are the ways that I USED TO deal with this degenerate disc affliction, as well as the emotional trauma and pain of life, in general:

-lay on the couch, watching television, Netflix, and pornography, enjoying the immediate dopamine hit of the quick but temporary relief this provided.  This led to a devastating pornography addiction that lasted for YEARS.

-remained incredibly closed off towards others, never communicating or opening up to even my closest, most beloved relatives and friends, always acting as if everything was just fine, while dying inside.  I became an expert actor, and had everyone believing that I was doing great.

-hope and believe the downtime, relaxing, and laying around, would help my body heal more quickly.  This led to an affinity towards, and habits which produced, prolonged periods of extreme laziness, which was easily adopted into a daily set of rituals and routines, and manifested itself in my daily lifestyle for YEARS.

-religiously take all prescribed medications, which included anti-inflammatories and addictive pain-killers, and led to a lowered state of consciousness and thinking, muddled thoughts and confusion, which contributed to poor decision-making skills.  These skills eventually became habits, a way of life, and eventually a destructive lifestyle.  I was told by three different doctors that I was screwed, there was nothing I could do, and that I would never work again.  I was told to go on disability.  I was told I was disabled, which furthered the progression of my thoughts and beliefs that I was going to remain worthless as a provider, and as a person, since I based my value partially on how well I could provide form myself and my sons.

-become discouraged and anxious because of the amount of time it actually took for my body to heal.  These feelings contributed to a victim-style mindset, MORE feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness, and anxiety, and a growing desire to no longer be alive and be a burden on the people I loved.

-over-eat, due to boredom, the food that was so easily accessible, the anxiety caused from the physical pain, and the emotional pain brought on by feelings of hopelessness and the overwhelming “reality” that I was worthless as a provider.  Months of habitual over-eating foods lacking in ANY nutritional value, GREATLY affected my chemical and hormonal levels, and caused me to gain a LOT of weight, which then led to more pressure on my discs, lessened ability or desire for exercise, and an even darker, more severe and dangerous depression.

-shut myself in a dark room, with the curtains drawn, alone in my dark, hopeless thoughts, with a growing unwillingness to answer any phone calls or texts, not wanting to see anyone, or talk with anyone.  This caused me to spiral downward and out of control, watching MORE unhelpful content (hoping for that ever-diminishing hit of dopamine and temporary relief from pain) and becoming even more disconnected from people and actual reality.

-took anti-depressants and mood-stabilizers, which didn’t help with my weight, but instead, caused me to gain and retain even MORE weight, causing a repeated cycle of self-loathing, anxiety, stress, anger, self-pity, feelings of worthlessness, depression, and suicide-only causing me to watch more and more unsavory content, eat everything in the house, and feed this destructive pattern everything it needed to grow into a monster and take over my mind, words, actions, and my life.

I became an out-of-control, powerless, incapable, pitiful, unattractive, loveless, undesirable person, and the entire time, I was trying to raise my three sons, the very best I could.  I dragged them through numerous relationships, always seeking to fill a huge void within me through other people.  Seeing myself as a terrible father, without the proper tools to raise my sons better, made me feel hopeless, until I learned that I could BECOME BETTER, and learn all about DIFFERENT TOOLS available out there, and a completely different life waiting for me to become more attractive, so that it could be attracted to me.

Starting in 2014, and after just five years of learning about the importance of Personal Development, proper healing techniques, and the importance of momentum (as a result of a daily set of rituals and routines), as well as habits, consistency, focus, practice, repetition, and proper habit-implementation, I realized something had changed!  Just this morning I quickly noticed how I was being pulled in a direction that would not benefit me and that would hinder my healing process, which means I am much more self-aware, even though I still have a long ways to go.

This morning, I was up at the normal time of 3:20 am for work with my wife, but in extreme pain, unable to roll over in bed or even stand up.  Immediately I craved sugary, delicious, comforting foods.

I was tempted to relapse, and immediately visualized myself waiting for my wife to leave so I could eat like everything containing carbs and sugars, drink all the beers in the fridge, and watch porn, all alone and in secret, (which is how we guilty and ashamed addicts tend to prefer to do things we are ashamed of,) afraid she would judge me as harshly as I would judge myself, (which she rarely does,) wanting to do these things in private so I wouldn’t feel even MORE ashamed and guilty, and then crawling out to the living room to lay around on the couch all day and binge-watch Netflix with our dog.

Thankfully, I immediately recognized where these thoughts and actions would lead. Been there, done that!  I knew I needed to replace the OLD with the NEW.

So I:

-forced myself out of bed, made the five minute, painful journey of zombie-shuffling to the kitchen, and packed my wife’s lunch.  I had to actually go back later to feed our dog, as I was in too much pain while standing up, and had to lay back down.

-I crawled back into bed, since I wasn’t able to go to work, and as a part of my daily routine, I re-wrote the daily message for July 15 on my website, and posted it.

-I read the daily excerpt from Melody Beattie’s book, THE LANGUAGE OF LETTING GO.

-in the desire to connect with other, like-minded people, I read through a few comments left on my previous Facebook posts, and came across this message from Ed Mylett, https://youtu.be/BXJWlWtUvnk which is all about how our actions cause echoes throughout the eternities to come, influencing our generations to come, which immediately motivated me, resulting in added momentum to an already accomplished morning.

-I then hurried to listen to a podcast I had downloaded next week with which to bombard my brain with the content I NEED, about HABITS, rather than the content which my basic self wanted to simply be entertained by. https://youtu.be/s9uDVVWN_ZE

-I remembered my new habit of setting an alarm, (learned from Brendon Burchard’s book, HIGH PERFORMANCE HABITS,) for each hour to do Box Breathing, and re-focus on my intentions for the next hour.  Since I wasn’t at work, I decided to do it at home, throughout the day, repeating to myself each hour while Box Breathing: “I will over-hydrate, stretch, ONLY eat foods which are high in nutritional value, and either listen to highly valuable content, or create highly valuable content.” The entire point behind over-hydrating came from an Interview featuring Shawn Stevenson, in which he taught that the very lastly body part to assimilate fluids is our discs, between the vertebrae in our spine.  https://youtu.be/4Mtw3vBQYOg

-crawled outside to lay on a blanket in the sun for 15 minutes with my dog, Daisy, knowing the vitamin D would help re-energize me, and brighten not only my day, but my mind.

-throughout the day, knowing the importance of CONNECTING, I reached out to my wife, my sons, my parents, and a few friends, explaining to them what had happened, how I felt, and what I was doing to make the situation better, instead of worse.  Their responses and the fact that they obviously care for me as much as I care for them was encouraging, empowering, and energizing, helping to create even MORE momentum towards the creation of an AMAZING day, rather than a hopeless, discouraging, dis-empowering day.

-since food is easily accessible and I want ALL of it, for the instant relief, release of pressure, instant gratification and comfort, and instantaneous dopamine hit I knew I’d get if I ate it, I decided to fast all day, only eating a Quest protein bar and drinking a Keto coffee.  Tonight I will insist of myself that when I break my fast, I will only eat food which is high in nutritional value, and I will exclude all carbs and sugars.

I am so grateful I began implementing these easy-to-do, and also easy-not-to-do items on my daily checklist, to create momentum for each day.  These things are so incredibly difficult for me to do.  I have learned, however, that it is by consistently doing the difficult things that we build credibility with ourselves, grow our self-confidence, and fell a well-deserved and EARNED sense of pride in ourselves.

Each day is a battle for EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US.  The results we suffer from or enjoy 10 years from now, or even three months from now,  will be decidedly a direct result from the thoughts, words, and actions we choose every moment of every day.

Every minute matters.  Every second counts.

I am so incredibly grateful for the daily habits I have put into place over the last five years so that I am now much more capable of dealing with the extreme physical, unexpected, pain much more effectively.  The changes in my personal habits came because of an evolution in my personal belief system. These changes in my belief system came from new information, mostly from teachings on the YouTube shows called, Impact Theory, Health Theory, and Women of Impact, and all of Tom and Lisa Bilyeu’s MANY incredible, prolific, high-achieving, highly successful guests.  Many of them have their own shows and podcasts, which also have benefited me and everyone I know a great deal.  Some of the other most influential people I listen to are Earl Shoaff, Earl Nightingale, Tony Robbins, and Jim Rohn.  Without this NEW information, it is highly unlikely that I would have ever become a NEW man.

If a total POS like the man I USED to be can make these improvements in a five-year time period, ANYONE can.  Most people will be able to far exceed my results if they want to!

If we want a new life, WE have to create it. This is done by accepting full responsibility for our lives and by creating NEW habits to replace the OLD ones.  This is not easy; however, it is totally worth it.

The most beautiful part about my transformation is that my three sons witnessed the entire thing, every step along the way, and desired to DO better in order to BE better, as well.  Finally, after these last five years, I am beginning to feel like a responsible and worthy father.  I can now honestly say that I am proud of who I am as a father, a husband, and a person.

In 2014, after I began to transform my mind, and my outward, physical appearance began to catch up with the inner environment I was working so hard on creating, one of my sisters asked me if I was on meth.  I explained to her that I had started to learn a new way of doing, in order to live a new way of being, and that diet and exercise was a part of it.  I had lost 60 lbs. since the last time she had seen me, had stopped taking all medications, and had begun a completely different, more-educated type of nutrition and life plan.

I have shared many helpful hints I have learned over the last five years on my website, while sifting through THOUSANDS of hours of content, always with this question in mind:  What can I learn today that I might be able to experiment with and implement into my daily routine or my life, in order to be a better version of myself?  Because of the things I have learned and habitually implemented into my daily routines and rituals, I have now had the opportunity to coach. connect with, and learn from people all over the world.

Results don’t lie.  Good, or bad, we can look back over the last three months of ANY area of our lives and see why we may be experiencing our current circumstances.

When someone is happy, healthy, and wealthy, and we are NOT, it’s best to learn from that person!  What are they doing that we aren’t, that we could easily make a habit of our own, and improve ourselves and our own lifestyles, over time?  When we are trying our way, doing our very best at it, and it doesn’t seem to be working, or producing the results we wish for and desire, why not look around, seek, and search for others whose decisions, choices, habits, rituals, routines, and consistent efforts ARE producing the results we want in our lives?

In order for life to change for us, WE must change.  In order for things to get better for us, WE must get better.

I wish you well on your own life journey, and throughout your own personal, unique, life-long healing journey.

We are all ONE. When ONE of us heals, we ALL heal.

Ono N Northey

Family of origin

Northey & Kripps.  Kripps grandfather served in the war and pioneered much of today’s thyroid treatments and how we view digestion & stomach acid.  Grandfather currently 99 years old and looking about 60 or so. Parents both artists, loving and caring, no siblings.

What is your current age? What year were you born and where have you lived?

I was born in 1979 in Nelson BC, and have lived primarily in Canada with some brief stints in Hawaii and Japan.

What were the most important things you learned during your childhood and earlier years that helped you later in life?

My main influences were The Little Engine That Could, the Sneetches, and Superman.  From the engine, I learned that sometimes thinking you can is enough of a reason to be able to do.

From the Sneetches, I learned how capitalism works and the importance of a strong self-identity.

And from Superman, I learned how to live with integrity and to do the hard things.  How to be a better person, strive for strength and to use it wisely. Later, I would become enamored with Batman and others, but Superman was the foundational building block of my outlook on life.

What were some challenges or disabilities you experienced and what did you gain or benefit from living with and through these?

I had a unique name, and was bullied pretty intensely.  ADD wasn’t really a thing until I was in high school, but that was diagnosed as well.  I wouldn’t take either away, though. They both cemented me into building my creative problem-solving skills, my love of martial arts, and my self-image.

What were your biggest failures/mistakes in life, and what did you learn from them?

My biggest failure was my martial arts school – or rather, who I was and my approach to creating and maintaining it at the time.

It still hurts to think of all the students I let down and how many promises I felt forced to break when we eventually closed down.  In particular, there were a pair of kids whose parents were going through a divorce who I promised I would always be there for. While I have been reassured that they are now thriving and happy, it still pains me to think that I broke such a promise – but all I can do with that pain is use it as a reminder never to break a promise again.

They say that looking back with hindsight we always see the benefit of how things turned out.  And maybe I will – but a part of me still hasn’t let go of that.

I learned a tremendous amount in that period of my life.  Not just martial arts, but business, how to take something from an idea and manifest it into the real world, and, thanks to a mentor or two, how to be a better man.

I don’t know if I’ve learned the difference between self-belief and arrogance yet, but I think I’ve gotten a lot better.

(Ono and his mom.)

Where is your favorite place you have ever been and why?

In the arms of a hug.  Be it with friends, family, students or mentors, I love that sense of energy transference where both parties are solely focused on the other for a brief moment of connection.  And it exists in so many forms! The celebratory hug, the loving hug, the sad hug, the hug of hello, and the hug of goodbye.

Riding on top of a dolphin was pretty amazing too though.

What is your educational background?

Mostly a wall of books and a rack of belts, but there’s a bachelor’s degree in programming and more than a couple of participation awards too.

What jobs/employment have you had? Which was the most fulfilling and why?

I like to look at jobs as paid educations, and have bounced from one to the next as my life purpose and the resulting educational requirements evolved.  I often had multiple jobs at once, much like an educational index fund of skills, and it’s only a recent development that I’ve had less than three at any given moment, with my record being six at once.

In as close to chronological order as I can muster, I have:

Delivered papers, mowed lawns, sub-contracted other children to mow lawns, rented video tapes (yes, I know all the words to every disney movie that came out during that period haha), assisted and later, taught martial arts, MLM guy (a decade later and I finally used up all my toothpaste inventory…  learned a lot though!), made and sold coffee (fun side note: I’ve never drank coffee – my answer was always the same: “it has an earthy taste” – I still do now know what that means, and I don’t think many other people do either), website parker & seller, more lifting of heavy things, this time with the intent of learning how to build stuff, library coffee maker so that I could check out reference books, cruise ship reception, graphic design, shipping & packaging, generic lifter of heavy things, health food store sales, made and ate my weight in pizza, designed and sold cheques, entered random data into spreadsheets, horrific and inept web design, pretty darn snazzy business card logo design and fancy printing for wealthy and/or eccentric clients, signage design and sales, martial arts school owner, terrible oil rig guy with a goddamn rental car in sixty below weather, more print sales, martial arts instructor again, and, more recently, a daycare owner and author.

When you feel frustrated, angry, or out of control, what do you do to quickly and effectively return to your baseline emotion? (How do you, “Self-soothe”?)

I find sixty seconds of blitzing on a heavy bag tends to reset me pretty well, and I meditate twice daily.  If I have the window of time, I also quite enjoy a walk, run, or sprint to “cleanse”

What is a long-lasting, sustainable contribution you would like to make that lasts long after you are gone, and you do you want it to affect?

I want the 98% of the population currently uninterested in self development to benefit from personal growth via embedding it within mind blowingly entertaining books and movies.

What are the principles and core beliefs you base your decisions and your life upon?

Increase the awesome, any way I can.  When my martial arts school was closing, I went to an old instructor of mine to vent/grieve, and he asked me what I liked about teaching.  I answered that I loved the look in the student’s eyes when they went from “I can’t” to “I just did.” and he asked why I couldn’t just do that without the school.

I thought about that, and it was one of the seeds planted that led me to mindsettertainment as a scalable vehicle for mass-change.

Are there any principles or core beliefs that you altered/improved over the years, as you grew, progressed, and improved? (Old beliefs that didn’t serve you/were harmful vs. New beliefs which benefited you and those around you a great deal.)

My previous belief was that if I followed my passion and the ends were awesome enough, I could accomplish them through any means.  I was wrong. I now believe that I must use “compound interest awesome” and increase the awesome in everyone’s lives every day along the way to my ultimate goal, and that it will accumulate a momentum that will change the world.

Do you have a morning routine which you adhere to in order to, “Prime your pump,” and empower yourself to be a better, more grounded, centered, focused version of yourself for the day?

Yes, I’m very habitual in my approach to life.  I get up every weekday at 5:30 within five seconds of my alarm going off.  (I do my best to wake up before my alarm, but I find I do not sleep well without one, as I wake up constantly thinking “is it time to get up?”)

After I’m up, I don my bathrobe, make my son’s oatmeal, use the bathroom, write, meditate, write, exercise, shower and start the day.

What are your favorite 3 quotes and why?

I tend to remember the sentiment/context of a soul more than their specific words, and often times I compile multiple people’s viewpoints into my own quotes that I’ll find empowering.  Eg my windows background is Batman saying “increase your standards” with the sub-heading of “With great responsibility comes great power”.

That’s a decent mix of Tony Robbins, a re-frame of Spiderman, and the ideology of Batman.

As far as quotes go, the only one I remember verbatim is Calvin from Calvin & Hobbes saying “I try to make everyone’s day a little more surreal.” – I think I’ve used that a few times in my life.

Do you have a book list of your favorite, most helpful books? What are the books on your list and what were the most important points from each one?

If I had to pick, I’d go with leadership & self deception – which would do the book a disservice to summarize, as it is experiential, and Tony Robbins’ ultimate relationship program, which taught me C3GUS.

If you’re looking for book recommendations though, this should get you started:

Who were the most important influential people in your life so far? Who do you consider your mentors?  (This can be someone in your life or someone you have never met.)

In chronological order

My parents, My Martial Arts Instructors, Tony Robbins, Tim Ferriss, Sean Webber, Steve Chang, Steve Siebold, Renee & Roman Northey, Tom Bilyeu, Peter Diamandus, and a bunch of other authors whose names I forget but whose books live on in me.

Who or what has been the biggest, most helpful contributors to your life?

My parents and Grandparents

Is there anything I have not asked you that you would like to share that you believe could benefit others?

https://www.ononorthey.com/non-fiction

What do you believe is the purpose of your life?

To live with ikigai

https://www.ononorthey.com/blog/how-to-find-my-passion

What is your main wish/desire for the loved ones in your life?

To find and fulfil their ikigai with integrity, passion, humor and love

If presented with an opportunity to make a truly sustainable and lasting difference in this world, what would this offer look like, and how would you contribute to its advancement?

As my chosen vehicle to make the world a better place is to educate those resistant and even outwardly hostile towards personal growth, my ideal offer would be in the form of a movie or television adaptation of my book series.

What are you currently doing to create this reality and manifest its existence into a reality?

I write every day, and I have a promise with Tom Bilyeu to work together in 2021 with the launch of the audio books.  Tom and I share the same ikigai, though his is more on the studio-side, and mine more along the content-creation.

Parenting

My youngest son teaches a class at his workplace, which consists of many young children.  The other day, one of the children decided he didn’t want to do the one, easy thing for that day that was required of him in that class.  He told my son, “My mom told me that I don’t have to do anything I am not comfortable with!”  My son immediately responded with, “Hey buddy, how do you expect to grow and become better, without doing hard things that make you uncomfortable.”  Genius, right?!  That is one of those proud parent moments we all talk about and want to experience.  The little boy then went to his mother, told on my son for being too harsh a critic, and he was immediately reprimanded by this mother.

When my son related this story to me, I was flabbergasted.  When did it become okay, as parents, to shelter our children and protect them so much from becoming that we become enraged at a stranger that would help and empower our child to grow, simply because that stranger’s ideas, philosophies, and beliefs, differ with our own, and aren’t in alignment with what we want?  When did it become okay to raise our children to be weak, overly-comfortable, unchallenged, fragile, and rendered completely incapable of personal growth?  The idea behind raising a child, in my opinion, is to ensure the child is safe, the child’s actual needs for survival are met, and to provide growth opportunities in that child’s life so the child will then, eventually, gain the confidence and self-esteem needed, to go out into the world and become a fully-functioning, contributing, valuable, successful, happy, member of society.

In the mother’s defense, I did the same exact thing for years.  I am embarrassed to say that I was a helicopter parent.  It was my very best I knew how to do at that younger time in my life, and I believed it was the only way.  The truth is this:  Our very best is good enough.  Our very best is excellence.

As parents, we can only perform at the best level at which we know how to perform.  When we KNOW better, we can DO better.  Knowing better comes from self-introspection, self-examination, and self-awareness.  Doing better comes from creating new routines and forming new habits, which will empower us with the strength, skills, and momentum we need to perform at higher levels.  There is nothing a good parent wants more than to be able to learn how to do this.

Excellent parenting, just like excellent living, is an achievable, practicable skillset, that any one of us can aspire to and work hard towards.  It is in the small moments that this is done.  Waking up extra early to practice self-care, fill our energy cup up for the day, and prepare ourselves physically and mentally to be better and capable of doing more than the day before.

Here, on my website, are free suggestions as to how to be and do more, through habituating new skills, and implementing them into daily life in order to enhance and optimize not only YOUR healing and YOUR lifestyle, but the healing and lifestyle of your children.

The goodinthehead Habit-Hacking Challenge

Angela Goodwin

Well I was born in Yorkshire which shapes my values and my speech slightly.

Then I lived in Lincolnshire and I can kind of say I was born in a barn as I lived on a farm very early on.

Then I lived down south where I started my linguistic journey learning French.

Afterwards I went back up north and continued learning French.

Next, I went to the Cayman Islands and started learning Spanish.

This is where my story really begins because I start to become social.

It’s where I get my first friends but due to my accident, I radically change who I am.

I lose my mathematical ability and my ability to code, but my ability for language increases.

I also start enjoying socializing and guys.

I then meet my husband, who I’ve spent my life with ever since, more or less.

I go back to the uk after the hurricane and this is where I restart my disrupted education.

I start going to Greece, but don’t properly learn the language for many years.

I go to university, but find out I prefer being social to actually doing my degree.

I try many avenues to see what I’m actually good at, failing at each, after a while.

I then start traveling round the world.

I try for a baby but then my husband gets cancer.

I blog to cope with this beyondtheenglishintrovert.com and I’ve written 7 books on amazon under my name

The difficulty I face on a daily basis is being autistic.

My husband is dyslexic, so I assist him with his admin, as we have two companies-alpha structures, which provides vitral rooflight, windows and doors, plus goodwin letting. This is our student leggings company.

We also help out in Greece where we have a tourist rental company. Great water properties is the parent company, as the Greek company I can’t spell.  (It’s the Greek version of great water properties.)

My dream is that my husband is cured of leukemia, which he is well on the way to being, and he is doing a charity initiative to raise money to help others who are not quite so fortunate as himself.

He is on a wonder drug called nilotinib that is very focused and didn’t exist 10 years ago.

It’s very expensive so we’re lucky to live in the uk and get it for free-otherwise, it would be 32k+ per year.

I’m 34.

I was raised catholic until 7 but I was taught to value money, honesty, right and wrong, to be just all the things you would expect.

I hate people wasting food and I believe cleanliness is very important.

I learnt to be tidy and organized, as well as the language aspects you’re probably quite familiar with already.

My mum has undiagnosed dyslexia and I had undiagnosed autism despite my mums efforts for the first 17 years of my life.

My accident is what changed that.

I learnt that life is very hard if you’re different and you just want to fit in.

In the early days when you’re a teen you want so much to be cured but it’s what makes you different that will enable you to succeed. However, it will take a very long time before you discover how to utilize your differences to the best of your ability.

Also, that most people are not worth your time.

Even if you desperately want to feel like you belong.

My favorite place is actually Lefkás as it’s just such a beautiful place. It’s so laid back and relaxed.

This maybe idealistic as I haven’t really experienced it yet but my friend Angelos is going to help me to discover the real Lefkás this year hopefully. 🙂

I haven’t had any jobs because I’m not exactly 9-5 material.

I have helped in an ecology project, volunteered at university, a charity shop, and assisted when I was a prefect at my sixth form college.  I also did work experience in high school.  I filled in at a company we used to have answering the phone and doing web work, but I didn’t enjoy it. At uni I also was a student rep for making sure our kitchen was clean, so the staff actually cleaned it each week. The last item on the cv is the summer school I did for 2 weeks as a teen as a neighbor needed help.

Self-soothing is usually reading. I isolate myself from others but also writing on my blog is very helpful. Conversation and socializing can be good, depending on what the issue is.

I believe that the purpose of my life is to help others where possible to lead the best life they can. I am a teacher and I’m quite altruistic as well.  It’s why I never ask Angelos for money yet I pay him for his books/courses. I probably should but that’s not really me.

I’m idealistic and a bit hippie-like, despite also being logical and fact driven. I’m very masculine for a girl and I know my own mind. It’s taken me a long time to assert myself as I’m quite controversial. I’m also independent. I’m certainly a heterosexual woman though.

I want everyone to know that I love them even though I most certainly don’t show it in a neurotypical manner.

I don’t know anyone who is as open as myself and yes you can share this.

The alchemist is one of my favorite books. The matrix is my favorite movie.

I don’t really have favorite quotes as usually there mis-attributed anyway.

MAN IGNITED

Trinity Dougherty Jenkins was kind enough to allow me to use this painting she painted for the goodinthehead website.  To learn more about her, click:

https://www.facebook.com/Uppercountryarts/

The man she used as a model for this picture is a MAN IGNITED.  He is ignited with a passion and a fire within himself to live an extraordinary life, to provide extremely well for his family (which he works hard to do, every day,) to remain grounded in the earth and its energies, and to experience and give love to all of the important people in his life.  He is someone I admire and look up to for what he has built of himself and for his family, and for what he has chosen to accomplish in his life.  He chooses to show up in this world in a big way, yet does it with a silent strength, that is unmatched by many.  Without trying, he shakes the world, in a gentle way.  It’s just who he is.

Accessing the greatness within and connecting with the COLLECTIVE ONENESS, is done through the practice of meditation. I wanted to start meditating years ago, but didn’t know HOW. If we really want to connect with The Universe, speed up the process of Energy Expansion, and REALLY use these meat suits we inhabit on borrowed, limited time, to grow our souls, meditation severely optimizes this process.

There are MANY ways to meditate. Watching this interview with Emily Fletcher introduced me to the method I have now been using for almost a month.

I bought the book and am currently listening to it for the third time.
It has changed EVERYTHING for me, alleviating stress from my stress bucket each day and empowering me with the energy and insight needed to be my better self much more often. In this way, not only have I benefited, but so have the people around me, including my family, co-workers, and complete strangers. I highly recommend trying it out!

I love what my mom taught me last year, after beginning a meditation practice of her own:

“Prayer is when we talk to God and express our deepest desires and gratitude, and send an energy out into the Universe about what we want to create and what we think we deserve.  Meditation is when we open our minds and allow God and the Universe to send us the energies, wisdom, knowledge, and strength that we need, in order to create the life we want and deserve, ourselves.  Make sure you practice both prayer, and meditation.”

Success leaves clues. So does failure. I LOVE to research things that have helped others in ANY way and try them out for myself. I honestly wish I had come across meditation FIRST. Mindset, beliefs, habits, a solid morning routine, and other tools I have researched and implemented into my daily life have helped immensely, but had I STARTED with meditation, I believe everything else would have been downloaded and assimilated much more quickly and efficiently.

Check out all that I have come across so far at www.goodinthehead.com and please share these things with others! Even if it is of no use or interest to you, someone you know and love may be looking for and needing one of the things they may come across here. Alone, we can do nothing, but together, we are many, and we can do ANYTHING.

NORMA NELSON REMILY’S FUNERAL

I had the opportunity to go on a road trip with my dad to Tucson, Arizona, to attend his Aunt’s funeral.  The company, the conversation, the energies exchanged, and the time spent, on the drive and during the services, were all appreciated and enjoyed.

I learned a few things I didn’t know before about my dad.  He was born is Tucson, and grew up there until the age of 8.  He told me story after story of how he grew up, where he lived, the time he ditched school because he didn’t like the smell of the lunch they were serving in the cafeteria, and how he fought his dad’s chicken against the neighbor kid’s father’s chicken, getting in a lot of trouble.  He told me about the time he stood on a scaffolding, helping his dad and other family members construct the very church where the funeral was to be held.  Then there was the time that his Uncle Jerry threw him into the swimming pool in the back of the church to learn how to swim, with the old, “Sink or Swim,” method.  Before the age of 8, he shot his cousin in the face with an arrow, after his cousin refused to get out of the way.  Luckily it deflected off of his hard head and away from his eye, and left him with a scratch, instead of dead or blind.  My dad got into a little trouble for that, as well.  He told me how he remembered that he and his cousins idolized Tarzan and Superman, and tied roped in the trees to swing like Tarzan.

My dad has always been an old soul, with a mind of his own, even at that young age.  Hearing these stories made me think of those cool, funny videos people share, and end them with, “THUG LIFE.”  I was able to imagine, in my mind’s eye, some of these stories he was telling me in detail, and they all ended with a thugish-themed song, and the words, “DOUG LIFE,” stamped across the memories I envisioned, like a move playing in my mind.

It was so incredible to see so many family members there, at the funeral.  It had been too long since seeing most of them, and I met some family members that I had never met before.  It was a great celebration of Aunt Norma’s life, and I am so grateful I chose to attend.

One of the speakers said something that really resonated with me:  “I would rather attend a funeral than a wedding.”  To put things into perspective, he is the Bishop of the church we attended the funeral at, and he attends multiple weddings and funerals, each week.  I had to agree!  While weddings are a beautiful thing, and a celebration of hope, a funeral is a celebration of a life well-lived, and the memories shared at a funeral are usually the highlights of the person’s life.  There were so many good, positive, amazing stories and memories shared about Aunt Norma.

Her youngest brother, Don, was always teased by Norma because he has always been such an emotional, passionate man.  Norma would tell him, “Don, I swear!  You cry just ordering a Grand Slam at Denny’s!”  She said this affectionately, though, and never to slight him, and everyone knows that this quality of Don’s is endearing, and is part of what makes him such a great man.

Don also related a story about how she took him to the movies with her and her friends.  He was just a little boy, and they were all grown-up teen-agers, but he said he will never forget her kindness and the way she made him feel, buying his bus ticket, his movie ticket, and a giant chocolate bar just as big as he was then, even though, back then, money was extremely difficult to come by.  One part of the movie had a monkey that unscrewed a light bulb and stuck it in his mouth.  When the monkey would put his finger into the light socket, the bulb would light up!  Don thought it would be a great idea to go home and try that out for himself.  It didn’t turn out quite like he thought it would.

Earl told a story about how the kids were running through the house while the ladies were in the kitchen cooking, and Aunt Norma grabbed my dad and the nearby ping pong paddle and paddled his but a bunch of times before looking down and exclaiming to everyone that she had paddled the wrong child.  Later, my dad chuckled, telling me that after getting that spanking, he looked up into her eyes and saw a twinkle and a slight grin tug at the corners of her mouth.  “She knew exactly what she was doing and who she was paddling,” he told me.  They would tease each other about times like those the rest of her life, every time they saw each other.

Aunt Norma always said things like, “Keep your kitchen dirty enough to be happy, and clean enough to be healthy.”  She taught many things by her good example, but one that was most appreciated about her was to not just TOLERATE the differences, antics, uniqueness, and individuality of others, but to CELEBRATE them.  I loved hearing that one.

The thing I realized and loved the most at this funeral, is that I am deeply connected with people I have never even met.  I have family out there, everywhere, doing their best to grow, learn, survive, thrive, love, and exist the very best ways they can.  I realized we are all in this life thing together, forever doing the best we can, connected.

During a musical number, in which my Aunt Deb sang, as I closed my eyes and enjoyed the beauty of her voice, a thought came to my mind that my mom had shared with me once:  “Prayer is like when we talk to God and express our deepest desires and gratitude, and send an energy out into the Universe about what we want to create and what we think we deserve.  Meditation is when we open our minds and allow God and the Universe to send us the energies, wisdom, knowledge, and strength that we need, in order to create the life we want and deserve.”  Reminder to self:  Make sure you practice both prayer and meditation.

I’m so grateful for family.  I’m grateful for the connections we are blessed to have the opportunity to make, and how much easier it is to stay in touch with the important people in our lives, these days, with the growth that has happened for us in the technological advances that have been made.  They used to drive wagons, go hungry, and suffer from an uncomfortable lifestyle when Aunt Norma was growing up.  Look at all of the abundance that we are so blessed to enjoy and take part in and share with others in these current times!

We live in a beautiful time.  The Universe was designed from the beginning to conspire on our behalf.  It is up to use to recognize this fact, to remember it, to focus on it, and to choose to benefit from it.  It is so interesting to me that when we choose to practice gratitude, that we always have so much more to be grateful for.  Energy flows where attention goes.  And we, each of us as beautiful, unique individuals, get to choose what we focus on every moment of every single day.  That which we focus on, grows in our lives.  What will you focus on today?

If anyone that was at the funeral would like to contribute any pictures or a post on this blog page, please email them to me at goodinthehead@gmail.com

Please share this post with family and anyone else you think may enjoy it or benefit from it in any way.  Much love to you all!
