Small “traps” have been laid throughout this life to trip us up, humble us, and help us remember there is always room for improvement.
Sometimes, if we have deep within us feelings of inadequacy, when we experience success in some part of our lives, a feeling of superiority begins to grow within us. We want to feel like we are more important than and better than others. We begin to, in our own minds, lift ourselves up to a level above those around us. We become competent at what we do, quickly gain a sense of pride and confidence, desire after a feeling of importance and validation, throw caution to the wind, and let our ego take control.
It is normal for those who have, sometimes for their entire lives, felt like they are “not enough” in some way, to exhibit behaviors that make them feel “better than,” and get caught up in comparing their perceived strengths to the imaginary weaknesses of others. This may be normal, but it is also incredibly damaging and destructive.
As we become more confident, we may sometimes believe we are more competent than we actually are. We treat others differently as this feeling of superiority sets in, and the environment changes. Can you think of a time in your life when this has happened to you? I can certainly think of times in my own life where I have fallen into this trap.
When we compare ourselves only to ourselves, we can get an actual, accurate gauge of how we are progressing, or immediate feedback that we are capable of doing more. When we compare our strengths to the perceived weaknesses of others, simply to feel good, better than, or more than, we disable ourselves. This disempowering, destructive behavior can easily become a habit. I know of this destructive pattern from personal experience, and I can attest that it is a useless practice for anyone interested in playing the long game of TRUE greatness.
Yet another “trap” is the tendency for those who are new to the illusion of power over others is to abuse authority, lord over others, treat others as “less than,” and use fear and intimidation to manipulate and control the feelings, emotions, and actions of others.
I think it is important to remember that it isn’t just about making it. It is about maintaining it, and continuously, consistently improving upon it, whatever “it” is. There is always room for improvement, always something more we can learn and practice. There is always room to grow and progress.
I think the best thing we can do when we become better or more competent at something is to help others to do the same. By helping others improve it creates an environment where others are willing to do the same for those around them. This action creates a growth environment, where trust, consistency, understanding, kindness, acceptance, and high performance is commonplace. Together is better.
Today I will remember to work on improving and becoming more competent, while focusing on staying humble, treating others with the same respect I wish to be treated with, and lifting others up in any manner that I can. I will remember that the change I want to see in the world starts with me.
To learn more about creating a growth environment, it is important to embrace a growth mindset, and to learn what a growth environment is all about.
Two of my favorite authors are Carol Dweck and Simon Sinek. They are on the forefront of the growth movement today, and have been for years. I highly recommend consuming content from them.

Remember: Mindset matters. Character counts. That which we choose to consistently focus on is what EXPANDS in our lives. WE CREATE our personal realities.
The day after it came out in the theater, My wife and I watched the movie, “A Wrinkle In Time.” It is pure wisdom, beautifully and magically disguised as an entertaining story. I heard, from people who read the book, that the movie was actually better than the book, and it is extremely rare to hear such a thing.
My mother encountered a woman who said of the movie, “They sure took some extreme liberties in the making of that movie!” My mother was appalled. She retorted, “In a world full of extremities of the dark persuasion, it is about time someone took some creative liberties meant to enlighten and uplift!”
Everything in life is experienced at the same level at which our perspectives and beliefs reside. Each day is an opportunity to up-level our perspectives and beliefs. The life we create and project will be as we perceive it to be, and as we believe it to be. Any time we choose, we can upgrade our beliefs and perspectives.
There is an awakening afoot! There seems to be a shift taking place in everyone. I think it is better if we are all uplifted, edified, and enlightened together. Together is better.
It is through the energy of our thought choices that we create our personal realities and either succumb to the dark or choose to live in the light.
Do we believe that we live in a friendly universe, or an unfriendly one? Do we see beauty everywhere we go, or are we focused on all that is ugly and wrong in the world? Do we observe to judge, or do we observe to enjoy and appreciate? Do we perceive that the Universe was designed to conspire on our behalf every moment of every day, thinking that life is happening FOR us, or do we believe that everyone is out to get us, and that life is happening TO us?
The vibrational frequencies are being raised collectively throughout the world. A higher level of awakening, being, and living is being experienced by more and more people, making this world a more beautiful place.
WE ARE ALL CO-CREATORS OF OUR COLLECTIVE REALITY. It is through improving our own, personal reality that we contribute to the improved quality of the CO-CREATED reality in which we all exist.
There is a natural shift in energy, as we are bombarded by negativity. When we are bombarded by negative energies, we are put into a position in which we HAVE to learn to manage our inner world better, alleviate anxieties and depression, and accept both light and dark as good for us, BOTH being in life for our eventual benefit.
Both “good” AND “bad” are simply variations of love and light energy.
Have you noticed this shift towards a mass awakening? Have you noticed the opposite to also be true? Polarities exist, and balance must be achieved, though would it not be incredibly beautiful if the scales were tipped in the direction of collective enlightenment, peace, joy, and love?
In this life, I’ve recognized the dangers in extremes or absolutes, but I have also realized the importance of the experience of extremes or absolutes, so that we might learn about, and have the option to choose, balance. There is great purpose in experiencing both extremes AND balance. Experiencing contrasts empowers us to decide what we DO want by allowing us to experience what we DON’T want.

This life is a practice in experiments and experiences. It is an opportunity to learn and continuously re-create.
This life is an endless, beautiful, informative, creative, and perfect cycle. We are born, we have an experience, we process it, we attach meaning to it, we decide what adjustments or recalibrations to make, we integrate the new practice, then experience the perceived results of our choices and feel according to the meanings we attach to the results and how we are capable of seeing things. This process is repeated until this life ends.
The interesting thing is that the spiritually or soulfully enlightened ones have been sharing their wisdom and insights for thousands of years. Now, we are in the midst of the Information Age, with an unlimited abundance of our choice in information. We are blessed and cursed with so much and have the opportunity of what to choose and what to consistently focus on. What will we choose to think about, focus upon, and allow to occupy the space of our minds today? Whatever it is, it will determine the energy and levels at which we vibrate. What we think and feel is up to us, and it will determine what manifests in our lives, in the weeks and months to come. We become what we think and feel about. We create more of what we think and feel about.
Will that which we choose to focus on lead us towards an enlightened pathway or into a dark, empty, meaningless abyss, designed to result in levels of personal pain that crack us wide open, finally exposing the light within, leading us into an enlightened pathway, anyway?
Today I will remember the importance of what I choose to think about, say, and do. I will remember the importance of that which I focus on. I will live my life intentionally, aware, awake, and on purpose, striving to live in the present moment.
One of the most incredible and empowering books I have ever read that describes how to be fully awake and present in the moment, and how to enjoy life on a much deeper and more meaningful level, is THE POWER OF NOW, by Eckhart Tolle. I highly recommend buying this book and listening to it or reading it regularly.

While there are things in life that happen to us that we could never expect or be prepared for, we can choose NOT to focus on the unknown and that which causes us fear or dread, and instead, focus ONLY on the things which we CAN be prepared for.
It is better to be prepared by having and doing too much, rather than not having and doing enough. This holds true in every area of our lives!
The more prepared we are, the less unnecessary stress we experience. The less unnecessary stress we experience, the healthier and happier we are. The healthier and happier we are, the better we are able to think and function. We naturally make better decisions, and we react to and interact with everything and everyone in more positive and creative ways.
The better we are able to think and function, the more we can do for ourselves and others. The more we enable and empower ourselves to do things for others, the more fulfilled we are, and the more valuable we become. The more fulfilled we are, the more meaningful and enjoyable our lives are. The more meaningful and enjoyable our lives are, the less stressed we are. We can choose to stress less and accomplish more, through being as prepared for anything as we can possibly be.
I LOVE Peter Crone’s definition of success:
TRUE SUCCESS IS THE ABILITY TO REMAIN AT PEACE WITHIN AMIDST THE TURMOIL AND CHAOS OF THE OUTER WORLD.
It is easy to see how this upward cycle can go on and on, all day, all week, and all month, until living this way becomes a habit and it eventually goes on and on until the end of our lives.
Life wasn’t designed to give us what we want or need. Life was designed to give us what we deserve, THROUGH OUR OWN CREATIONS.
Being prepared is important. Spiritually, financially, personally, emotionally, educationally, physically, and socially, we can all do things to improve, upgrade, and be more prepared.
ALWAYS BE UPGRADING.
Today I will research and learn about three simple ways I can personally be more prepared in my life. I will integrate these three things into my daily life by adding them in to a checklist of easy-to-accomplish, daily tasks. I will do them consistently, and habitually, which I know will help me be more and more prepared, confident, less stressed, and more able to add more value to my life and the lives of those around me.

As humans, we are not measured by our intentions. We are measured by our results.
RESULTS DON’T LIE.
Intentions matter, but actions and results matter even more.
Thinking about doing something and actually doing something are two, completely different things.
I thought about beginning to write for years, but it wasn’t until I started to do it consistently, and made it a DAILY HABIT, that ideas began to form and words began to appear on paper. My life began to change and progress for the better because of taking massive action. Even though I write in hopes of sharing something empowering with others, what I write about ends up benefiting me much more than it may ever benefit others, because it results in more self-awareness, an up-leveling in critical thinking, and a sense of peace. The writing I do results in a DAILY PERSPECTIVE SHIFT. IT LIGHTS ME UP, and energizes me, every time I do it.
I used to think about changing my diet and beginning to work out again. I intended to do it for years. Sometimes I couldn’t even walk because of bulging or ruptured discs in my back. It wasn’t until I did it consistently and made it a DAILY HABIT, that my health improved and I lost weight. My back didn’t just get better-it healed completely. After suffering for over 20 years, I no longer suffer from continuous bulging or ruptured discs.
I used to write down goals and intend to complete them, but it wasn’t until I did it consistently and made it a DAILY HABIT, that I began to see progress and improvement in my life and the lives of those around me. I had to take action in order to enjoy the benefits and rewards of actually achieving the goals I wrote down.
The most rewarding and enjoyable benefit that came from all of this massive action wasn’t an improved self-image, a much more lean and healthy body, or a sharper and more useful, healthy mind. The most rewarding and enjoyable benefit came when my three sons witnessed the changes in habits and the results, and wanted the same habits and results I was experiencing FOR THEMSELVES. They wanted IN.
The actions we take, or don’t take, will not only constantly re-create OUR personal reality, but will empower or disempower OTHERS to do the same, for generations to come.
The ripple effects that come from ALL of us last FOREVER.
One of my favorite teachings is,
EVERYTHING CHANGED WHEN I GAVE UP HOPE OF A BETTER PAST.
NOW is the only moment that TRULY matters.
In the real world, it’s a numbers game. Metrics are useful, and for that reason they are important. We need to be able to measure our results and see the improvements. We need to see the progress and growth to realize and appreciate the momentum. We need to celebrate the successes and work harder on improving our failures. Constant improvement and progression are important not only at work, but much more so in our personal lives, where it really matters.
Today I will make a list of all of my good intentions. I will pick the most important ones and get started on them. Today, I will take action.

Our attitude of mind is the most important thing we will ever possess. It can make us or break us. It can be our greatest asset, or it can be a disease we constantly battle for the rest of our lives. I know that for me it was a disease I battled for the first 42 years of my life. It wasn’t until I took a long, hard look at myself that realized I needed to DO something different in order to experience a different reality and create a different life, so that I could stop hurting and living a life filled with suffering and depression, and begin creating a life of love and abundance, free of self-imposed pain and suffering.
One of the most inspiring, educational, motivational lectures I’ve ever heard is on YouTube. It is given by Earl Nightingale, and is entitled, “The Strangest Secret.”
I tried an experiment, which he suggests in this video, and listened to it every day, as part of my daily morning routine. My thinking, attitudes, perspectives, and beliefs began to change because of it, and then everything in my life changed along with me.
I learned: That which we listen to once has the potential to change us. That which we listen to repeatedly and consistently, think about, talk about, and take action because of it, actually changes how life, people, circumstances, and situations interact with us.
It was because of this experiment that I decided to seek out that which I wanted to EXPERIENCE MORE OF, and I listened to that content, repeatedly and consistently, for at least a month. In this way, ANYONE can reprogram their attitude of mind, and EXPERIENCE MORE of ANYTHING they choose to.
”IT IS THROUGH REPETITION THAT WE CAN REPROGRAM THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND.” -Dr. Bruce Lipton
One of the greatest tools I have learned through this process is to attach a new habit I want to form to a necessary part of my day, every day. When I shower, I make a mental list of EVERYTHING I have to be grateful for. When I dress, prepare coffee, and make lunches, I listen to the content I choose to reprogram my mind with. When I am at work, I listen ONLY to audio books and YouTube interviews which contain the content matter and information that will propel me towards the decided goals I am working towards achieving. Attaching a habit to a necessary part of life has empowered me to live a more intentional, more enjoyable, more fulfilling, almost magical life.
At first, this was incredibly difficult and challenging, but within 30 days, it became enjoyable and easily flowed. It became something I looked forward to doing. I felt accomplished for having done it, my levels of self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-image were raised, and my life changed, progressed, and improved, in direct proportion to the level of intensity, consistency, and focus which I performed these new habits at.
IT IS THE QUALITY OF THE ATTITUDES OF MIND THAT CREATE THE QUALITY OF OUR HABITS.
Today I will take the time to listen to this 30-minute lecture by Earl Nightingale and pull from it anything good and helpful to me in my own life.
To see other habits I have experimented with and decided to implement into a daily routine, check out The goodinthehead Habit Hacking Challenge. You can just google it. These are the habits I decided upon to optimize my own, unique, personal life experience. Practicing these things, daily and consistently, has empowered and strengthened me, and shot me onto a completely different, and unexpectedly enjoyable, trajectory in life. I am so incredibly grateful for all of the many people, teachers, mentors, and leaders I have been so blessed to come across in my lifetime, so far, and look forward to the many others I have yet to discover.

We don’t need to live a life that ends with regrets. The way we live a life filled with love, success, deep connections, and fulfillment, amidst all of the difficulty, strife, chaos, and distractions, is to become stronger, wiser, and better. It is through consistent Personal Progress and simply consistently doing our best, that we can do this.
ALWAYS BE UPGRADING
When we consistently do our best, our best consistently gets better.
I once heard Bedros Keuilian say: “Do the hard things and you will have an easy life. Do the easy things and you will have a hard life.” This is so true.
We have the opportunity every, single day to defer our desire for instant gratification, and not immediately getting what we want in the moment, so that we can earn something FAR greater and better for tomorrow. We sacrifice today so that tomorrow can be even better than if we hadn’t sacrificed at all. It is through our consistent choices that we create habits that MAKE us become stronger, wiser, and better.
If we are self-aware and awake, we choose what to consistently and repetitively think about and focus on, every moment of every day.
We can choose what to say and do, and that shows us and the world our character. We can choose which action items we will consistently attack each day, as we fashion ourselves like a blacksmith fashions a blade, and having a plan of attack is half the battle.
When we fail to plan, we plan to fail. If we plan ahead, we will GET ahead. We can take control of our own destinies, and choose which consistent actions to take, which will determine our habits. The quality of our habits will then determine the quality of our life.
THE QUALITY OF OUR HABITS DETERMINES THE QUALITY OF OUR LIVES.
When we consistently do the hard things, we will have an easy life. When we consistently do the easy things, we will have a hard life.
DO THE HARD THINGS.
We must strive to become stronger, wiser, and better, if we want a better life.
It is through hard work that we add value, and it is through adding value that we FEEL GOOD ALL THE TIME, and create the life of our dreams.
Today I will decide in which areas of my life I will become stronger, wiser, and better. I will make a plan to do so. I will do small, easy, daily, consistent acts in order to consistently become stronger, wiser, and to do better in the exact ways I choose to. I will no longer be a victim of life and react TO life. Instead, I will PLAN and CREATE my life. I will make an effort to FEEL GOOD ALL THE TIME, thereby feeling my creations into existence through The Law of Attraction.
One of the most helpful mentors I have ever come across has been Jim Rohn. His teachings have been incredibly helpful and empowering in learning HOW to be stronger, wiser, and better. I’m so grateful for all of his content which has been recorded and shared on YouTube.
To listen to certain content DAILY, is to create an empowering habit that will create an empowered LIFE.

This exercise takes time. It is something that can take as long as you want it to take. It is an exercise I like to visit and review every month or two so I can add more things and see how I am doing. On a piece of paper, make two columns.
At the top, on the left side, write down your old or current beliefs about everything you can think about that makes you who you are, helps you make all of your decisions, and which are the deciding factors in how you react to everything in your life (how you react to things people say to you, things that happen to you, etc.).
At the top, on the right side, write down your new or future beliefs that you would like to adopt and replace all of the old or current beliefs with. These new beliefs are to become the new way of thinking, speaking, and acting, which will benefit you and those around you in some way.
This is eye-opening and can be a lot of fun!
This is the beginning of the list I first made. It is a little rough and it makes me feel a little vulnerable sharing it, but here it is:
Try it out for yourself. It may prove to be a little more difficult and a lot more valuable than you think!
We are all constantly fluctuating in so many ways. We ebb and flow, like the waves crashing on the beach, then retreating into the water. We shrink and expand, we learn and forget, and our sleeping patterns change. Our diet isn’t always consistent, and chemically and hormonally, we aren’t always stable. We make choices, experiment with new knowledge and practices, take actions, experience emotions, speak words, and think thoughts which are different every, single day.
These things are all part of the human experience. It’s normal. It’s better than okay-it’s PERFECT. We are ALWAYS exactly where we need to be for changes to take effect in our lives. In this way, life is SO beautiful.
We are ALWAYS changing, with the idea in mind that these changes are always beneficial in helpful in empowering ways, which causes us to grow, progress, evolve, and improve. Doing our best and falling short of expectations and goals still empowers us, builds momentum, and helps us to change and grow. All results are feedback, information teaching us how to upgrade.
None of us are the same person we were a year ago. It is important to remember this of others, as well. Allowing grace for others in the form of forgiveness, empathy, acceptance, patience, understanding, kindness, and the opportunity we would want for ourselves, allowing them to prove with their actions that they have changed and will do better, provides the same opportunities for ourselves.
THE ENERGY WE PUT OUT INTO THE UNIVERSE TENDS TO ALWAYS COME BACK TO US.
Criticizing someone today for the actions of yesterday is a waste of time and energy, especially if that person is trying to become better, to grow, and to progress. This is especially helpful to remember when we criticize ourselves. In these cases, it is better to encourage the behaviors and actions we want to see MORE of in others, and in ourselves. At times we may be tempted to allow that inner voice to judge, criticize, and condemn us, but we can choose instead to quiet that negative inner voice and listen more for the encouraging voice which gives us hope of a better experience now and a more enjoyable tomorrow.
We all can change. Let us encourage, uplift, and enlighten ourselves and one another all along the way. Instead of criticizing, let us compliment. Instead of pessimism and negativity, let us choose optimism and positivity. Let us all give support to others and ourselves as we all strive to be the best we can be. Cooperation results in connection, and connecting with others results in a more optimal life experience in every way.
CONTRASTING EXPERIENCES ARE THE GREATEST INFORMANT OF WHAT WE WANT TO EXPERIENCE MORE OF AND WHAT WE WANT TO EXPERIENCE LESS OF. IF WE CHOOSE TO EXPERIMENT WITH EVERYTHING, AND ONLY KEEP WHAT WORKS FOR US, UPGRADING QUICKLY IS EASIER.
Today I will remember that we all change and we are all doing the best we can for today, with what we now know and have to work with. Today, I will think, speak, and act on an opportunity to show myself and someone else support in some way.

What better way to start the day than with a perspective check that helps shift our focus towards something we believe is beneficial and will add to our own personal growth and improvement? Reminders like this have value, especially when reviewed at the start of a day as part of a consistent, daily, morning routine.
Each of these messages are meant to remind us of what we already believe to be important and beneficial in our daily lives, and to aid in the re-focusing process many of us don’t even realize we so desperately need. It has become increasingly more difficult to focus on what truly matters with all the many distractions which are now so prevalent in our lives.
This website was created to remind myself in some small way, each and every day, that Mindset matters, that Character counts, and that FOCUS IS EVERYTHING.
That which we focus upon tends to manifest itself in our lives, more and more. The more intense our focus, the quicker the thing we focus upon manifests.
It is my deepest desire that this website will benefit you as much as it has benefited me.

In our lives, we are continuously exposed to a variety of new ideas, experiences, ways of thinking, distractions, and new information. We, as humans, are always discovering more, pushing our limits and boundaries, and continuously creating new or alternate realities through our thoughts, perspectives, words, feelings, and actions.
It has been calculated that we are CONSTANTLY being bombarded by information coming at us at a rate of 40 BILLION bits of data per second, through our five senses. As children, for the first six to seven years, we navigate the world in a different brainwave state than AFTER this time, allowing us to absorb ALL of that information, interpreting and defining it with young, inexperienced, and limiting minds. Once the switch is flipped to another brainwave state, the RAS (Reticular Activating System) is turned on, and to protect our minds from constant overwhelm, it filters out EVERYTHING that we are NOT focused on and thinking about, and only allows in what we DO focus on and think about. WE ARE IN CHARGE OF THIS.
EVERY MOMENT IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PIVOT, RE-ADJUST, RE-CALLIBRATE, RE-ALIGN, AND BEGIN AGAIN.
Mark Dawes created a BRILLIANT 8-minute YouTube video explaining the importance of this device, called, “Your Reticular Activating System.”
I believe that every very thought, word, feeling, and action sends out a vibrational frequency, creating an energetic ripple effect, which lasts forever, being attracted to, and strongly affecting those, who vibrate on that same frequency through thoughts and feelings, as well as ALL OTHER sources of energy absolutely EVERYWHERE. If space and time collapses, or if it is possible that the universe folds over onto itself infinitely, ANYTHING is possible.
WE ARE ALL CO-CREATORS OF THE COLLECTIVE REALITY WE ARE LIVING IN. EVERY THOUGHT, FEELING, WORD AND ACTION EACH PERSON PARTICIPATES IN IS A PERSONAL CREATION OF A PROJECTED PERSONAL REALITY. EVERY PERSONAL CREATION CONTRIBUTES TO THE COLLECTIVE WHOLE AND THE COLLECTIVE CONSTRUCT OR COLLECTIVE REALITY WE ARE ALL CREATING AND INTERACTING WITHIN EVERY MOMENT.
Can you imagine if we were able to shed this body, with its limiting 5 senses, and temporarily wear a different suit with MANY more capabilities and sensory devices, thereby being capable of experiencing the ENTIRE array of colors, the FULL potentiality of ALL sounds, being able to sense vibrations, magnetic attractions, energetic waves, underwater living, MUCH more incredible binocular vision, and so much more? I assert that it is possible that we would realize HOW we are all ONE, and that our energies, vibrational frequencies, thought projection, remote viewing, and many other capabilities we may be temporarily unable to practice while in this human body LIMITLESSLY would be easier to observe and experience, and we would realize that we truly ARE all interconnected and intertwined one with another, being of the same essence, materials, and energy, no longer being separated by the physicality of this body.
For now, we are blessed with THESE 5 senses, and THIS HUMAN BODY. As we learn and experience more in this human body, we each have the opportunity as “separate“ entities for continuous and added growth and progress. This is the way it is supposed to be. We can choose to regress or progress. I think this life was designed to provide us with MANY opportunities to regress and progress, in ALL areas of life. Through experience, we learn, expand, acquire new skills and wisdom, and we grow.
CONSCIOUSNESS INFORMS ITSELF THROUGH ITS CREATIONS. -Gregg Braden
If consciousness truly does inform itself through its creations, what better way to inform itself than by simultaneously inhabiting LIMITLESS physical bodies through which to inform itself?
In today’s world, remaining as we are is almost impossible. Our states of mind and feeling are in constant flux, ever-changing, ever-flowing. Maintaining, navigating, and controlling our moods and personal chemistry can be a challenge. Life is ever-changing and can be extremely difficult, as we do the best we can to respond, to react to, and interact with it in progressively more intelligent ways.
IT WAS DESIGNED THIS WAY FROM THE BEGINNING FOR US, ALLOWING US THE OPPORTUNITY WITHIN EACH MOMENT TO CONTINUE PLAYING THE GAME OF LIFE IN PROGRESSIVE, EXPANSIVE WAYS.
I LOVE Peter Crone’s definition of success: “TRUE success is consistently being as peace amidst the chaos.”
FINDING JOE is a beautiful movie, currently free on YouTube. It teaches about THE HEROES JOURNEY, and how we are ALL heroes, and we ALL shave a story. SHARING our stories, authentically, honestly, and transparently, is to empower others who want to hear our stories. “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear,” has been taught for centuries. Ram Dass taught that EVERYONE is our guru. I believe he taught that because he realized the great value in always remaining an open, unattached, non-judgmental student.
I believe this life has been designed to benefit us in EVERY way. We are exactly where we need to be in our lives for optimal growth opportunities to take place IN EVERY MOMENT. The Universe is continuously and consistently conspiring on our behalf, even when we don’t recognize it or see things in this way, and we are simply temporarily rendered incapable of seeing anything but our own, personal, current, truths.
It is easy in this life to become overwhelmed, anxious, and unfocused. THIS ALTERS THE WAY WE SEE THINGS. We all need reminders and perspective checks along the way in order to re-focus. Meditation and yoga are MASSIVELY useful tools in this regard. Repetition of certain beliefs, mantras, or favorite quotes can be incredibly helpful, as well.
EVERY MOMENT IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO UPGRADE OUR HABITUAL BELIEF PATTERS, OUR PERSPECTIVES, AND THE WAY WE CHOOSE TO SEE THINGS. THESE PRACTICES ARE LIKE INSTALLING ALTERNATE LENSES WITHIN THE GLASSES THROUGH WHICH WE SEE ALL THINGS, TO PLAY WITH, AND SEE IF WE CAN SEE EVEN BETTER.
In order to grow, improve, and progress, in the most effective ways possible, it is helpful to choose the methods which work the best for us, as unique individuals. One thing that may work well for most people may not work at all for others. We can choose to learn as much as we can and test new ways of thinking, speaking, and doing things for ourselves.
Experimenting with everything we possibly can results in REALLY FAST LEARNING, and if we are okay with learning through pain, EXPERIMENTATION is SUPER useful. Along the way, we may need to make course corrections, recalibrating at every step for optimization.
Each moment we are alive we have the opportunity to improve and progress through these course corrections. We periodically decide a new or different way of thinking is more effective for us, personally, and we try it out. If it works FOR us we continue. If it doesn’t work for us, we adopt a different way of thinking. Finding the way that is best for us is the trick.
FEAST UPON THE CONSTANT FEEDBACK!
We are all different and unique, and we all get to choose which ways are best for US.
DON’T TELL ME HOW TO LIVE MY LIFE! THAT IS FOR ME TO DECIDE.
The beauty of life is that we are all different. The best advice I have ever come across is to work so hard on myself that I have no opportunity or time to criticize others. Criticizing others is proof that we want to think we are better than them and believe they should change and become more like us. Criticism is a tool we sometimes use to feed our ego, so we can avoid the pain from feeling like we are not enough, or that we don’t measure up in some way.
Criticism steals away our energy, focus, time, and attention we could be using to do the deep, internal work necessary to upgrade OUR OWN progression and creations.
Criticizing can be really damaging. Recognizing that it is the differences in others that makes them unique and beautiful, and NOT trying to change them through the manipulation of criticism is a MAGICAL practice, and results in trust, appreciation, cooperation, kindness, expansion, and love.
As we learn and grow, and are exposed to new information and ideas, I think it is important for us to adopt a positive, growth mindset and change thoughts and habits accordingly. THIS IS A LIFE-LONG PRACTICE. It will add value to our lives through easy, automatic, personal reality upgrades, and will spill over into to the lives of those around us without effort. One of the most helpful books I have ever read, and currently one of my favorite books of all time, is Carol Dweck’s, MINDSET. I highly recommend buying and listening to the audio version today.
Today I will remember to be the best version of myself I can for today, and appreciate myself for always doing my very best. I will accept that where I am in my life is exactly where I need to be, and I will remember that life is not happening TO me, but FOR me. I will work hard to adopt a Growth Mindset.
I will also learn to accept and love myself as I am, knowing I am exactly who and where I need to be for today, in this moment.
