July 28: Entertainment VS Education, Excitement, Elevation, and Enlightenment

I once wrote a short article titled, “I DON’T WANT TO BE ENTERTAINED!”

For years now, the entertainment industry has pushed the limits of what they can get away with.  They have constantly and consistently crossed lines and pushed through boundaries.  They have completely re-defined what is considered “appropriate” in today’s society.  The world we have co-created with them, allowing them to change standards and completely desensitize the minds of everyone they captivate with their incredible digitized graphics and sounds, is different than the world I grew up in.  The world my parents and their parents before them grew up in was completely different than mine was.

We can choose to conform to a society that wants to program us, manipulate us, and control us, or we can choose to remain vigilant and watchful, protecting ourselves and the ones we love, focused ONLY on what WE want to create for ourselves and the ones we love, and thinking ONLY about what WE want to think about.  We are 100% responsible to programming OURSELVES, and if we don’t, we are choosing to let others do that for us.

During an interview, Jay Shetty says something horrific, but true:  “Social media/entertainment is destroying us on the inside.  Envy.  Jealousy.  Ego.  Greed.  To be able to have enough clarity to purify yourself of those things is going to alleviate the biggest anxieties and depressions of our time and get rid of mental health problems.  We know that!  All the mental health research today suggests that because of isolation and over-exposure, we can now have more pain consumption in one day because of what we are exposed to, than the pain we would have had in an entire lifetime.  That’s HUGE.  It’s ridiculous to think that because of news and social media, we can consume more negativity in one day than we used to in an entire lifetime.”

Luckily, the opposite is also true!!  The resources and tools for our education, excitement, elevation, and enlightenment are now out there, through entertainment, social media, and the internet.

We choose the content we allow to enter into our minds.

Today I will choose carefully what content I will allow to enter into my mind.  I will remember that what I think about and speak about is what I will become.  I will remember that through my thoughts I am the master of my own fate.  I create my life, my existence, and my reality, through my mind and what I choose to focus on and think about.

Here are some of my favorite ideas, truths, and quotes to review, regarding this topic:

July 27: Experiences

The longer we live, the higher the possibility of the adventures and experiences.  The further out that we venture from our own little worlds, and the more we see out there, the more likely it is that we will have new experiences and learn new things.

EVERYTHING is feedback, information that is useful for the constant up-leveling of enjoyment in life.

The more new experiences we have and the more we learn, the more our eyes will open to what is really out there.  The more we know, the more we realize we know nothing.  There is an infinite amount of knowledge, intelligence, wisdom, wealth, abundance, and experiences out there to be had by each and every one of us.  We have only to decide to venture out and create all that we can.  It is out there, available to us and waiting on us.

The TRUE magic in life comes when we sit in stillness and silence, creating WITHIN the world we wish to experience on the physical plane, then opening our eyes and doing what we can to make our innermost visions a personal reality.  We are limited upon this LIMITLESS adventure only by the limitations we place upon ourselves through our own beliefs and perspectives.  It is 100% OUR RESPONSIBILITY to learn how to remain in alignment and feel good ALL THE TIME, for THIS is what magnetizes, attracts, manifests, and creates ANYTHING we can imagine.  Relentless focus ONLY on what we DO want feeds and energizes our creations, and ALL ELSE FALLS AWAY NATURALLY AND EASILY.

To observe what already IS, is to perpetuate and energize what is which our time, energy, and attention.  To project onto the canvas of life the most beautiful reality we can imagine WITHIN, is to do what we came here to do:  CREATE AND EXPERIENCE JOY.

In this life, it feels like I have lived MANY lives.  I am incredibly grateful for the experiences I have had.  They have made me the who I identify as in this body and within this human experience.

In this Information Age, not knowing more about ANYTHING is a CHOICE!  We are NOT victims, unless we want to be.  An over-abundance of information, help, empowerment, inspiration, and encouragement is constantly readily available to us at all times.

Reminder to self:  We all have the opportunity, each and every day, to get out there and get exposure to new things, situations, circumstances, and people.  We have the opportunity to learn what else is out there, outside of our own, small, personal bubble.  Go on adventures!  Learn and experience new things!  Welcome new, scary, and exciting experiences into your life!  ALWAYS BE UPGRADING.  FEEL GOOD ALL THE TIME.  CREATE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PERSONAL REALITY YOU CAN IMAGINE.  As you do, the energies you emit will play and interact with the energies OTHERS are emitting, thereby creating an ever-expansive reality of The One Whole.

Today I will step out of the comfort zone of my own, personal bubble and learn about something new and foreign to me, listen to something new, read something new, or do something new.  I will remember that progress equals happiness, and that each time I have a new experience, I am making progress.

I will meditate, visualize, and create the most beautiful personal reality I can possibly imagine in all I think, say, and do.  I will remain in alignment with source energy and I WILL CHOOSE TO FEEL GOOD, ALL THE TIME.

July 26: The Two P’s-Enjoying the contrasting experiences of life

“In life we succeed and we fail.  One causes us to Party.  The other causes us to Ponder.” – Tony Robbins

Success causes us to celebrate!  Celebrating our success or the successes of others is important.  It was earned.  It is deserved.  Celebrating success helps us to recognize in our self or in others something good that has transpired.  When we reward our self or others for success it strengthens our resolve, motivates us for further successes, expands our momentum, and creates within us a hunger which fuels us and inspires us throughout our evolutionary, creative, progressive, eternal process.  Celebrating success rewards us and inspires us to continually progress and improve.  Celebrating even the smallest of successes spurs us on to greatness.

Failure is also a part of life.  It is a very important part of life.  It helps us think through and ponder on what we did incorrectly or ineffectively.  It inspires us to ponder on how we can do better.  It provides us the opportunity to recalibrate after interacting with immediate feedback.

FAILURE IS THE MOST INFORMATION-RICH DATA STREAM IN EXISTENCE.  WE LEARN MORE QUICKLY THROUGH “FAILURE” AND THE EXPERIENCING OF IT THAN THROUGH ANY OTHER METHOD.

Failure provides data through constant feedback.  We are Data Gatherers. We are Information Collectors.  To inform the “self” is to further inform The One.

Failure helps us to grow stronger and wiser.  It helps test our resolve and our level of persistence.  It teaches us and helps us to realize and remember what is truly important to us, and what is not.  Through failure we learn the coping skills and tools which will help us succeed the next go-round.  We gain emotional fortitude.  Through failing we learn what not to do next time.

It is okay to fail.  It is never okay to quit.

Failure is a necessary component to a successful, meaningful, progressive, purpose-filled life.  Quitting doesn’t ever need to be an option, no matter how many times we fail at something.  Quitting is a choice that can quickly become a habit.

My newest perspective on failure is this:  THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FAILURE-only learning opportunities, and each learning opportunity and success is a reason to ponder AND party!  EVERY experience and every result is a blessing.  It’s ALL good.

Fight and rage and persist against failure, but don’t ever give up.  Don’t ever quit.  REMAIN RELENTLESS!  We must keep that defiant spark alive within us!

Partying and pondering are both good things.  They are both helpful.  These two things help us to do more.  They help us to do even better.

Today I will be grateful for Partying and Pondering and how much beauty, joy, strength, and wisdom have come into my life through these Two P’s.

July 25: Compliments

While it is truly important to detach ourselves from even the GOOD opinions of others, genuine and honest compliments are a useful tool to build connections and create a more beautiful world.

In this life we have the opportunity, each and every day, to create the reality, the life, and the existence we desire.  We are ALWAYS either creating with each thought we think, each word we speak, and each action we take.  EVERYTHING and EVERYONE around us, and in the Universe, responds and reacts to the quality of energy of these things we are constantly transmitting.  A thought transmits certain energy waves and patterns, resulting in feelings of vibrational and magnetic frequencies, just as every sound to each word and each action we take does.

Compliments are something we can take advantage of and utilize in our creative state.  What is the opposite of a compliment?  Condemning, judging, and criticizing.  These, too, are a creation, which negates the higher frequency thoughts, words, and actions we most desire to remain focused upon.  How do most people react to a sincere, genuine compliment and being appreciated?  How do most people feel and react when being criticized, judged, and condemned?  Where is your personal focus most of the time?  Are you being creative or destructive?  Do you compliment others more, or do you condemn, judge, and criticize more?

Complimenting or criticizing are practicable skills.  They are habits we can create and practice daily.  ENERGY FLOWS WHERE ATTENTION GOES.  Complimenting or criticizing can determine the quality of conversations, which in turn may determine the quality of our day, our week, and eventually our life.

EACH AND EVERY INTERACTION IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PRACTICE THE PROCESS OF CREATION.

Especially with children, we want to focus on complimenting the behaviors we want to reinforce and perpetuate.  A genuine compliment can add fuel to the inner fire of a child, helping create momentum as they travel in a positive direction.  We also want to make sure they learn how to honestly compliment and appreciate THEMSELVES, and learn that it is important to detach from the good and bad opinions of others.  Children who learn to appreciate and validate  THEMSELVES don’t NEED appreciation and validation from OTHERS.

This is something that works naturally and easily for everyone, however.  To complement means, “to add value to, or to express praise or admiration.”  To appreciate means, “to recognize the full worth of, to value, treasure, admire, respect, hold in high regard, or to think highly of.”  We compliment others out of appreciation, and others appreciate the compliments, then THEY appreciate in value and worth.  What do you do to and for others, each day?  Do you appreciate them or depreciate them?  I know I have certainly criticized and condemned.  It has never worked out well for me or for the other person.

A person who hates themselves will hate others.  A person who abuses themselves will abuse others.  A person who judges, criticizes, and condemns themselves will judge, criticize, and condemn others.

A person who loves themselves will love others.  A person who trusts themselves will trust others.  A person who appreciates themselves will appreciate those around them.  As within, so without.

Complimenting, adding value, expressing praise or admiration, and expressing appreciation are all part of the creative process which will make our lives and the lives of those around us more beautiful, meaningful, joyful, and fulfilling, as long as it is honest, truthful, and sincere.  We get back from the Universe what we put out into it, and the more we do these things, the more they will come back to us.

Over time, compliments can become a habit which help us to focus on the good and the positive in others we want to reinforce.  THESE EMPOWERING HABITS REWIRE OUR BRAINS TO CONSISTENTLY PRODUCE A DIFFERENT SET OF CHEMICALS AND HORMONES, which are constantly being injected into the blood stream, and within only two pumps of the heart, reaches our ENTIRE BODY, traveling over 60,000 to 100,000 miles through the arteries, veins, and blood vessels of our bodies (depending on the size of our body.)  These chemicals and hormones then act as information within the body, telling it how quickly to heal, how to feel, and what to do, thereby creating a pulsating magnetic signal that attracts everything that vibrates at a similarly magnetic charge.  It is such an amazing, beautiful process!

When we choose to be consistently grateful and appreciative, the physical structure in our brain rearranges and the neurons rewire themselves to reflect these habits.  Because of neuroplasticity we are able to recreate the type of person we become, which then alters the life we create and make into a reality.

Today, I will practice complimenting others in an honest, genuine, sincere way, and I will focus on complimenting the thoughts, words, and actions I wish to reinforce in others.  I will remember that I can only give away what I HAVE to give away, and I will make it a daily habit to appreciate and love myself, having an attitude of gratitude for all that I am and for all that I have.  As within, so without.

July 24: Control

The most dangerous, destructive, disempowering thing we can ever do is to try to control or change another human being.  Expectations of others can be alternately considered as premeditated resentments.  Expectations can be premeditated disappointments.  Expecting to change or control others sets everyone up for opportunities of frustration, bitterness, anger, and resentment.

As well-intended as it may be, we cannot force others to “wake up” or “grow.”  Their journey is THEIR journey, and while we are focused on controlling their journey, we are distracted from our own.

It is okay to simply remember to accept 100% responsibility for ourselves.  We can choose to focus on OUR solutions, improvements, and progression.  In the end, we will realize that we can only really change and improve OURSELVES.

When we focus 100% on OUR journey, we are FAR more capable of really doing it WELL, and as a natural result of us simply doing the best we can, the lives of others will be touched in the process.

While we are focused on controlling the thoughts, words, actions, and lives of others, we are distracted and derailed from controlling our own.

Isn’t it interesting that when we are self-aware enough to realize our need to control OTHERS, stems from the frustration of the inability to control OURSELVES, and in the very act of trying to control OTHERS, we are distracting ourselves from the REAL, inner work that needs to be done?

The ego is there to protect us and make us feel better about ourselves, to validate its worth, and sometimes it tries to prove we are not as worthless as we feel, and the act of controlling others is because of a judgment we have passed on them so we can feel superior, or better than, in order to bolster up ourselves with a false sense of confidence.

IT TAKES REAL COURAGE TO GO WITHIN AND DO THE NECESSARY AND DIFFICULT WORK, and practice SELF control, while simply allowing others to just BE.  Interestingly, when we do this, we are more likely to more quickly expand into love, practice self-acceptance, self-appreciation, and self-love, and then be FAR more capable of accepting, appreciating, and loving others.  When we do this for others, they then return the favor, and do the same for us.

When others come to us for help or advice, all we can REALLY share with them is what has worked for US.  We cannot fix them, as much as they may want and beg us to.  All we can do is love them during THEIR own personal, unique process, giving them all of the compassion, acceptance, kindness, understanding, and empathy they need, but are still unable to give to themselves, all the while pointing out solutions that have worked for us, or others.

While we can intend to help, empower, motivate, and inspire others to learn and improve themselves, that is THEIR responsibility and journey to realize and manifest this for THEMSELVES.  Once THEY are ready, if they ever become so, THEN is the time they will seek out others to help, empower, motivate, and inspire them.

Some people just don’t want you to help them.  That is okay.  The only person we can control is our self.  By knowing this and following this plan, we remain in a creative flow.  We remain in a creative process.

The choice is ours.  We can choose to be a part of a creative process and do everything we can to improve ourselves, or we can choose to be a part of a destructive process and do everything we can to control, manipulate, and improve others.

“Meet people where they already are instead of expecting them to change.  Accept others as they are.  That is true empathy, love, and greatness.” – Jay Shetty

100% personal accountability is the key to a happier world.  We are all at different places and stages in this life experience.  We all do what we can to empower others who are asking for it and really want it, but our responsibility lies in controlling ONLY our self.

Today I will let go of my need to control others and the situations around me.  Today I will focus on self-acceptance, self-control, Personal Development, and personal accountability.  I will remember that when I judge or criticize OTHERS, that is an indicator of work I have to do within ME.

July 23: Failure

“Failure will introduce you to success.” – Billionaire P.A.

As humans, it is through injury and the recovery process that we grow stronger.  It is only through struggle that we become stronger.  It is only through failure that we learn and become wiser.  Experiential learning is the best and most effective kind of learning.  It is only through healing and learning that we become better.

Body builders push themselves to the breaking point, purposefully tearing muscles so that they will heal back at a different size and strength level.

Scholars push themselves to learn more through intense focus and repetition, allowing certain neural pathways to die through non-use, while building stronger neural pathways with over-use and consistent exposure through repetition.

Babies, while learning to walk, fall down repeatedly, sometimes bruising themselves, but they never give up!  They keep at it, and we all learn to walk by falling repeatedly, experiencing contrast, recalibrating, and learning balance.

So it is with life.  We fail, then we learn.  We keep at it, knowing that if we do, we will get better at it!

“FAILURE is the most information-rich data stream in existence.” -Tom Bilyeu

I HAVE FAILED, BUT I AM NOT A FAILURE.

There is NO SUCH THING AS FAILURE-only learning and growth opportunities that come through “failing.”

ANYTHING we learn to do is JUST like learning how to walk…we just keep doing it until we master it.

The beautiful thing about the adoption and implementation of the belief is that IF THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FAILURE, WE CANNOT EVER IDENTIFY AS A FAILURE.  Instead, we can identify as a LEARNER!  How beautiful.

Keep at it!  Quitting is a CHOICE which becomes a habit when repeated.  Keep going. Keep doing what you are doing.  First we gotta crawl, bruising our knees.  Then we learn to walk, bruising our bodies.  Then we RUN.  It is only through the struggles of life AND THE HEALING THAT FOLLOWS that we experience the blessings of strength through consistent repetition and practice.

Reminder to self:

YOU’VE GOT THIS!  Keep at it…you are stronger than you think, wiser than you know, and getting better every day you do more of anything.  Simply ensure you get better at that which will improve the quality and enjoyment of life for you and those you love.

Today I will not be afraid to fail at anything.  I will be present in the here and now, do my very best, and let tomorrow take care of itself.  I will choose to believe and have full faith and knowledge that as long as I am thinking, speaking, and doing my best, everything will be the way it should be.  I will choose to FULLY enjoy every step of my life journey along the way.

July 22: Listen To Your Heart. Trust Your Intuition.

When we finally figure out what it is that we truly want to do with our lives, things are going to change.  Change can be scary, but when we have a dream, it is important to listen to our heart, and to TRUST OUR OWN INTUITION.

It may seem unwise to drop all else in our life to pursue our dream.  We all have responsibilities.  We all have bills to pay.  We all have relationships to maintain.  The best advice I’ve ever heard is to keep doing what you are doing as you are consistently integrating the habits and actions which will eventually make your dreams come true.

Real dreams, big goals, and fulfilling, meaningful lives, don’t happen overnight.  They are a lot of work and they can take a lot of time.  That is normal.  That is okay.  We can choose to be patient, relentless, and persistent.  These are the necessary parts of life that NEED to happen to create and fashion a meaningful life experience.

We don’t need to listen to anyone who has an opinion which will be counter-productive to the achievement of our dreams and goals.  We can choose to just keep doing what we are doing.  If we have put a strategy in place and we consistently chip away at it, it will happen.

Have faith.  Have patience.  Keep going.  Most of the value won’t come from what we achieve, at long last.  The value will come in all of the hard work, sacrifices, struggles, learning, and habits we have created along the way, working towards that achievement.  The value will come from WHAT WE BECOME in the pursuit and the practicing. The destination will be beautiful, but the journey along the way will be the most beautiful and incredible part of the process!

This is the beauty of life.  The here and now, the present moment, when live intentionally and fully, is what results in TRUE success.

Today I will listen to my heart for the encouragement I need to keep following the strategy I have put into place in order to succeed at making my dreams come true and living the life I earn and deserve.

July 21: Be proud.

Take a good look at yourself.  What has that inner voice you have been telling you?  What do you think about yourself?  When you make a list of things you believe about yourself, what does that list say?  Try it quickly.  FIve things.

I am:

What are the five things you listed?  What do they say about you?  Do those things help build you up and empower you, or do they tear you down, and disempower you from creating a more beautiful life?

This is my evening visualization practice I recorded to reprogram my subconscious as I drift off to sleep each night.  It ends with the I AM EXERCISE:

We
decide what and who we are.  We decide with each thought, word, and action, what and who we will be MORE of.  We have the power to re-create ourselves.  Each day is another chance and another opportunity to re-create, EVEN BETTER, with ALL we have learned and experienced, previously.  To forfeit that chance and opportunity, and to give away our power to another to continuously re-create us or tell us who we are or who we will become is something we may have been doing for too long.

Let today be the day we give up who and what we have been for who and what we can become.

Reminder to self:  BE PROUD OF WHO YOU ARE.  Be proud of how far you have come.  Be proud of where you are going, and who you are inspiring and empowering along the way.  Remember: YOUR BEST IS GOOD ENOUGH.

Make a list and put down only the good, positive, strong, important things that will build you up and make you stronger, wiser, and better every day by empowering you to be more of who you TRULY are.  Start the list with, “I am.”  Revise and update the list as needed, and as often as you feel it will be helpful.  READ THIS LIST DAILY.  Repetition reprograms the subconscious.  Repetition results in mastery.

ALWAYS BE UPGRADING.

Today, I will make a list of who and what I am and want to be, to be read DAILY, as part of a new habit within my routine.  I will be proud of who and what I have become and I will live each day, from now until my last day on earth, in a way that will make me proud of myself.

THE QUEEN of re-framing or re-creation of personal stories is Marisa Peer.  Her work, and what she teaches, has been among the most empowering that I have come across.  She has MANY suggestions on how to shift the personal perspective QUICKLY and EFFICIENTLY.  Plug her name into the YouTube search engine, and listen to the MANY success stories she shares of those she has personally worked with.  It is inspiring and useful to hear these hope-filled messages.

Peter Crone is ALSO someone I love to learn from:

Mark Dawes created a short video about the Reticular Activating System, which empowers us to create more of what we want through focus.

Bruce Lipton explains how repetition reprogramming the subconscious.

What better way to start the day than with a perspective check that helps shift our focus towards something we believe is beneficial and will add to our own personal growth and improvement? Reminders like this have value, especially when reviewed at the start of a day as part of a consistent, daily, morning routine.
Each of these messages are meant to remind us of what we already believe to be important and beneficial in our daily lives, and to aid in the re-focusing process many of us don’t even realize we so desperately need. It has become increasingly more difficult to focus on what truly matters with all the many distractions which are now so prevalent in our lives.
This website was created to remind myself in some small way, each and every day, that Mindset matters, that Character counts, and that FOCUS IS EVERYTHING.
That which we focus upon tends to manifest itself in our lives, more and more. The more intense our focus, the quicker the thing we focus upon manifests.

It is my deepest desire that this website will benefit you as much as it has benefited me.
