Fun, laughing, and entertainment, is an important part of life. Being able to create a life and make a conscious decision, consistently implementing the habit of seeing the humor in things throughout the day, is a precious gift. Playing practical jokes on loved ones and those around us at work lightens the mood and sends the message to others that we are not all work and no play. Work hard, play hard. These are wise words to live by.
My wife was raised in a home where humor was a part of life. One day at work she bent over to pick something up and a semi-truck tooted his horn quickly, two times, off in the distance, about a half mile away. She stood back up and giggled and said, “Perfect timing!” I was confused. She had to explain it to me: The truck horn sounded like a fart. We started cracking up. I guess you had to be there, but my point is this: She creates the opportunity to make a joke and have fun and find the humor in absolutely everything. I admire and love that about her. She is fun, humorous, and she adds a great amount of value in my life and the lives of those around her. My kids all adore her, as she brought SO MUCH more laughter and fun into our lives when we began our relationship. Work and life would not be the same without her, and everyone around her realizes this and feels the same way.
Reminder to self: Being able to make it a habit to find the humor in everything is a gift. Ask yourself throughout the day: “What is funny about this situation?”
Try not to be so serious all the time. Have a little bit of fun. Play a practical joke! Life is more enjoyable that way.
Today’s challenge for myself: Today I will find the humor in each situation throughout my day. I will make it a point to share things I find funny with others and laugh as much as I can.
Here is an example of humor-it makes me laugh, every time I see it or think about it Life was meant to be fun!
