The Conscious vs The Subconscious

This interview, featuring Dr. Bruce Lipton, contained some startling information which really made me question some of my beliefs and empowered me to expand my thinking, my beliefs, and my mind:

In it I learned, and now believe, that we all tend to live our lives on auto-pilot.  95% of our lives are lived by the subconscious, through habituated actions derived by the beliefs we acquired quite early in our lives.  That means we are on autopilot 95% of the time, and our reactions to life, people, thoughts, and situations are simply automated habits.  To come to the realization that I have habitually lived my life based upon beliefs and habits formed when I was 3, 4, and 5 years old was a little troubling to me.

When I realized this, I had to take a good look at my beliefs.  When we were younger, we had younger minds.  As we grow and change, so does our life experience, knowledge, wisdom, and perspective.  When we were younger, we had not yet developed into the person we now are, and our minds were not  yet developed into what they now are.  Misconceptions and misunderstandings were much more commonplace when we were younger.  Realizing these things is when I began working on The goodinthehead Beliefs Project.  It has been an incredibly helpful tool I have used to empower myself to create new, improved, growth-oriented, more evolved beliefs.  Click on the button below to learn more about this project:
