July 18: Mind, Body, and Soul

In a world full so many distractions, I think it is increasingly important we choose wisely what we will focus on each and every day.  The advertising industry, which spends TRILLIONS of dollars a YEAR to reprogram our minds to benefit the bank accounts of OTHERS, wants to constantly draw away our attention, energy, and our focus in order to instill within us the desire to give our money over to them for products we don’t even need, with the promise that the purchase will make us feel HAPPY, PEACEFUL, and CONTENT.
They constantly instill within us wants and desires, with false promises of feelings of completeness and wholeness to be achieved, just after spending our money.  They write logarithms and programs, amassing data and using our personal information, with which to better know how to program our minds and to constantly bombard us, to make us think we are unhappy or unfulfilled without their products, as they make false promises that we will feel whole if we just buy what they are selling.

EVERYTHING is an inside job-ESPECIALLY things like happiness, peace, contentment, wholeness, appreciation, validation, and acceptance.

If we focus on our actual needs, as well as the needs of others, instead of our wants and desires, we can grow and improve upon some of the MOST important things in this life:  Our minds, our bodies, and our souls.  When we shift our focus from wants to needs, we tend to go within, we begin to heal naturally and easily, and we begin to live a healthier, more meaningful, and more purpose-filled existences, which serves and benefits EVERYONE.

WE ARE CREATORS, but when we are distracted, we can’t create as effectively.

There are some very important questions I believe we can ask ourselves often:

What will help me grow and improve my mind?  What content do I personally want to focus on today in order to do this?

How can I improve my body?  How can I transform my body into a naturally more healthy version of itself?  How can I improve my diet in order to naturally improve my chemical and hormonal levels?  What should I choose to eat in order to accomplish my own, personal goals?  What books can I read about these topics?  What videos can I watch that will help me focus on and improve my knowledge on these topics?

How can I grow my soul?  How can I add value to my life?  How can I add value to the lives of others?

In this Age of Information that we have been living in, a lack of knowledge about ANYTHING is a choice.

I think it is important to remember, that as we work towards self-improvements, PROGRESS over PERFECTION is an idea we can keep in the forefront of our minds.  Perfection is overwhelming, unattainable, and impossible-always eluding is. When we seek perfection, we set ourselves up for suffering and feelings of inadequacy and failure.  PROGRESS, on the other hand, is empowering, motivating, and energizing.  Constantly seeking to progress allows us to LEARN and to never experience failure, but rather UPGRADES.

It will be the small, daily incremental, seemingly meaningless yet consistent repetitious habits we form, that will later be recognized as our path to GREATNESS, and living a life well-lived.

No matter who we are, or how far we have come in life, we can always do better.  There is always room for improvement and progression, and there always will be.

PROGRESS IS LIMITLESS, WHILE THE IDEA OF, OR THE NEED FOR PERFECTION, IS DESTRUCTIVE.

This is one of the greatest gifts that this life has to offer:  We can get stronger.  We can get wiser.  We can get better.

Today I will ask these questions of myself and make a list of my answers:  HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY MIND?  HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY HEALTH, AND MY BODY?  HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY INNER WORLD?  I will do what I need to do, as often as I need to do it, in order to become the best possible version of myself I possibly can, remembering that this is a daily effort and opportunity.  Life is a marathon, not a race, and the scenery is EXQUISITE!!!

Remember:  Mindset matters.  Character counts.  That which we choose to consistently focus on is what EXPANDS in our lives.  WE CREATE our personal realities.
