We become what we think about. Each step towards a positive mindset is but a crumb in a supermarket bakery full of resources. It is our mindset, our beliefs, chosen perspectives, our focus, and our habits, that matters most. Mindset and how we think of things will shape the future of our lives and of the lives of those around us. Our mindset will attract to us what we desire, focus upon the most, and what we work towards consistently.
Mindset is learned. It is taught to children with each word they hear and each action they see. Most people learn best through example, through watching those they respect, love, and wish to model. Success leaves clues. So does failure. Children learn to mimic either success or failure as if it is the only thing to do. It is all they know. Until we KNOW better, we cannot DO better.
As a parent, our mental and emotional well-being is paramount to being an effective parent. The better off our mindset is, the better off our children will be. The better we take care of ourselves, the better place we will be in to take even better care of our children.
How can we change or improve our mindset and beliefs? It has taken us all of these years to make it what it is today. What is one small thing we can change or add into our daily routine that would change our mindset, attitude, beliefs, and feelings, in an even more positive way? Every crumb counts. Something is always better than nothing.
The best way to climb a ladder is one step at a time, rather than trying to jump to the top rung right away. Climbing an enormous mountain can seem like a daunting, overwhelming task, but putting one foot in front of the other will get us there more quickly than hopelessly looking at the top and standing still.
Today’s challenge for myself: Today I will make a list of all the resources available to me that can help me better my mindset, the way I think, or what I think about in order to be the best version of myself I can possibly be. If I haven’t already, I will create a morning routine for myself to jump-start my day and prime the pump of my soul for each day.
