April 27: Vision Board

If we don’t know exactly what we want, it is highly likely we will go through life with no purpose.  If we fail to plan, we plan to fail.  Having a vision board empowers us to think of what we want, and make a plan to get to work accomplishing it.

Suggestion to self:  Find 20 of your favorite pictures off the internet, Pinterest, magazines, or wherever else you want to look.  Find the places you want to go, the car you want to drive, the job you want to have, the spouse you would like, and anything else you want to aspire to someday attain.  Put these pictures on a board or in a folder on a phone, and look at them as often as you can, in order to remind yourself of the life you want and deserve to have.

Create a vision of yourself and your life that makes you FEEL GOOD when you see it again and again, and that will pull and invite you to expand into it.

Make it a game!  It ought to be fun!  Go as big as you want to.  These are your dreams.  Once you know what your dreams and wishes are, you can start to do things that will get you closer to them.  You can choose to do activities which will align your life path with your desires.  CLARITY IS KEY.

It is easy to get to the place in your life where you eventually obtain these things, and this is how it can be easy:

Ask yourself these questions:

  • How can I make these dreams a reality for myself?
  • What EXACTLY do I need to make it happen?
  • How can I get these things to become a reality in my life in the shortest amount of time possible?
  • What can I do CONSISTENTLY, every single day that will align my life path with my desires?

Break the big goals, dreams, and desires, down into little, bite-size pieces.  Break the big goals down into small, easy, daily actions.  Have faith, work hard, be consistent, succeed, repeat.  If you are serious about it, you can do anything you set your mind to.  There are no limits to what we can accomplish as humans, except for the limits we place upon ourselves through limiting beliefs.

We can envision the desired end result of ANYTHING we want, and then reverse-engineer it down to daily, actionable items.

In 2014, I started over with absolutely nothing.  I had nothing to lose.  I wrote down a list of everything I wanted.  Examples included working for Boeing, buying a home, getting out of debt, buying a car, getting healthy again, and a few other items.  A few weeks later, I put the paper in a notebook, which later ended up in a computer desk drawer, forgotten about.  In 2017, while my wife and I were moving from a rental to a home we had just purchased, my wife found this list.  She asked me if it was my gratitude list for the day.  I had completely forgotten about it.  Every single thing on the list was either already acquired, or in the works, and amazingly close to being completed.  It was incredible!  Subconsciously, my mind had been working on what I wanted.  I literally became the man I needed to, in order to acquire and attain exactly what I wanted.  I now am constructing another list, and I am dreaming much larger than ever before.

The RAS, or Reticular Activating System, will go to work without us even knowing it, once we have properly programmed it.  Check out the short, 8-minute video about the RAS on YouTube, created for us by Mark Dawes.

I highly recommend typing, “Earl Shoaff – Mentor to Jim Rohn – How to become a Millionaire,” into YouTube’s search engine, and listening to this incredible content.  It is something I listen to often, wanting the ideas and wisdom to really sink in deeply, and become a part of my daily thought patterns.

Today I will create a vision of what I want my life to be in 3 years.  I will then decide what I need to do to make it happen.  I will remember that if I can break it all down to daily, consistent, habitual things I can easily accomplish that I will be able to make it happen.

goodinthehead is also on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.  The goodinthehead Podcast can be found on YouTube.  Follow me there, as well, for daily messages, inspiration, motivation, and reminders.  Please pay it forward, and share this, and ANY message, which may empower someone you love or may care about.  It is through adding value to others by sharing and spreading wisdom, that we become more valuable as individuals, and collectively, as a whole, we all become wiser.

Remember:  Mindset matters.  Character counts.  That which we choose to consistently focus on is what EXPANDS in our lives.  WE CREATE our personal realities.
