April 30: Being Present

Being present in the forever, eternal moment of now will increase the enjoyment and fulfillment in our lives.  Being present in the here and now will help us to create a much more beautiful life.

Have you ever been somewhere with the people you love, like at the beach, or on a vacation that you planned and saved up for, only to think about work, problems you or someone else is having, or anything else, at all, that causes you stress and anxiety?  I know I have, almost like it was a habit to be distracted from the present moment.  Wouldn’t it be much more enjoyable to focus on the present moment and enjoy it to the fullest, and make some memories with our loved ones?

Reminder to self:  When at work, focus on work.  When at play, focus on playing.  When working on self-improvement, focus on that.  When speaking to someone you care about, focus on really listening and being present.  Live each moment to the fullest, and focus on that moment, and on that moment, only.  When thoughts stray, re-focus, and work hard towards being and remaining present.  The more this is practiced, the easier it will become.  Our lives and relationships will improve.  People will appreciate us more and value their time with us more.

When it comes to being present, Eckhart Tolle is one teacher to learn from.  His book, THE POWER OF NOW, is amazing, and well-worth reading or listening to.  For a free audio version of this book, enter its name into the YouTube search engine.

Ram Dass is another wonderful teacher of BEING HERE NOW.  For access to over 15,000 hours of his useful content, enter BE HERE NOW RAM DASS into the YouTube search engine.

Today I will focus on being present during each moment and activity of my day.  When I need to refocus, I will use the mantra:  BE HERE NOW.

Remember:  Mindset matters.  Character counts.  That which we choose to consistently focus on is what EXPANDS in our lives.  WE CREATE our personal realities.
