March 29: Optimize The Learning and Creation Process

Tony Robbins says something that I had to listen to a few times to really get it:  “Good judgement comes from experience and experience often times comes from bad judgement.”

He then says that once you believe this, you can speed up the process of obtaining good judgement by learning from the experiences of others in the form of books, talks, seminars, YouTube videos, etc.

We can learn what do do through the experiences of others, and we can also learn what NOT to do.

There are so many mentors, personal heroes, and people we can look up to, admire, and learn from out there!  They are so many of them putting out positive, uplifting, inspirational, motivational, and helpful content, every day.

When we mimic, mirror, or model, the beliefs, behaviors, and habits of people who are successful in ANY area we wish to be successful in, it is likely that we will achieve the similar results, as long as we are consistent and focused.

Over time I have realized this to be true by trying it out.  The more I read about and listen to the experiences of others and their life of failure after failure that led to success, and try on the beliefs and habits that led them to THEIR successes like a coat, the better human version of me I am.  Learning by reading about or listening to the mistakes of others is a lot less painful than going through the anguish and painful process of learning all of it from personal experience.  There is value in experience, and there is value in learning from the experiences of others.

”TO READ A BOOK IS TO MEDITATE WITH THE AUTHOR”

-Robin Sharma

Today’s challenge for myself:  Today I will make a list of books or videos about successful people whose lives or actions I want to emulate in my own life and begin reading or watching a little each day as a part of my daily routine.

I highly recommend the book by John Maxwell, FAILING FORWARD.  It can be found for free on YouTube.

One of the most useful habits I have implemented into my daily life is listening to books, podcasts, and content, about things I want to learn more about.  For me, the thing which has consistently interested me the most is leveling up in EVERY aspect of life through personal progress through habit-implementation.

YouTube Red has made it possible to do this for a very minimal cost.  It has been one of the most empowering tools I have come across, allowing me to DOWNLOAD content to listen to at any time, rather than just streaming it.  I am blessed to be able to listen to HOURS of content each day, take notes, write about it, and share it with others.  It has been this habit and daily practice, in particular, which has helped me the most in the content creation, and continual improvements, of the website, www.goodinthehead.com, and my life, in general. This one habit has empowered me with progressive, incremental shifts that have resulted in continual upgrade opportunities IN EVERY AREA OF LIFE.  A life of abundance is CREATED BY us, not gifted to us.

goodinthehead is also on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.  Follow me there, as well, for daily messages, inspiration, motivation, and reminders.  Please pay it forward, and share this, and ANY message, which may empower someone you love or may care about.  It is through adding value to others by sharing and spreading wisdom, that we become more valuable as individuals, and collectively, as a whole, we all become wiser.

Remember:  Mindset matters.  Character counts.  That which we choose to consistently focus on is what EXPANDS in our lives.  WE CREATE our personal realities.
