May 27: Pronoia

Optimism is a choice.  Positivity is a practice.  We choose every moment of every day what we are going to think, what we are going to say, and what we are going to do.

We can choose to look at things in a positive way, have hope, goals, dreams, aspirations, and we can choose to do something daily and consistently to obtain all we want.  We can choose to take action, realize our life and our success is 100% our responsibility, and begin to experience success.

We can also choose to look at things in a negative way, have no hope, no goals, no dreams, no desires for a better life, and we can choose to let the waves of life toss us about, like a small boat in a big storm.  We can choose a life of depression and inaction, become a victim, and wait for someone to come along and save us.

We have two easy choices: DISCIPLINE OR NEGLECT, through DOING, or NOT DOING.

The idea of Pronoia vs Paranoia is an interesting one.

Paranoia is defined as a mental condition characterized by delusions of persecution, unwarranted jealousy, or exaggerated self-importance, typically elaborated into an organized system. It may be an aspect of chronic personality disorder, of drug abuse, or of a serious condition such as schizophrenia in which the person loses touch with reality.

PROnoia is simply defined as the belief that the Universe and all things in it are constantly conspiring on our behalf and in our favor.

Einstein once said that the two most important questions we could ever ask were:

  1. Do we live in a friendly universe or an unfriendly universe?
  2. Is nothing a miracle or is everything a miracle?

The best way (and the ONLY way that I know of) to cultivate a lifestyle centered around pronoia, is the consistent and daily practice of gratitude.  Practicing an attitude of gratitude, if practiced consistently, literally re-wires the neural pathways in our brains in such a way that we automatically are capable of training ourselves to constantly and more easily recognize and focus upon the positives of life, rather than the negatives.

Gratitude is a magnet for miracles, and when practiced consistently, it empowers us to see the true beauty that is present in EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE.

Practicing gratitude is like putting on glasses that empower us to see things differently, having an entirely altered state of consciousness, set of beliefs, and an empowering perspective.  Gratitude is a filter with which to see the world through, that will directly result in a more beautiful, meaningful, enjoyable life.

Imagine living a life, throughout which you easily recognize and focus upon the good in people, situations, and opportunities.  Since it is true that we get more of that which we focus upon, it becomes progressively easier with practice to see the beauty in all things, and to visualize the constant conversion of circumstances that this type of consistency would create for us.  It becomes easy to envision how the Universe conspires on our behalf, every moment of every day.  ❤️

Which will you choose today?  Pronoia or paranoia?  What will you do to prove it?
