September 9: Just DO It!

The path to consistent personal improvement, progression, and enlightenment has a lot to do with mindset and action.

Mindset + Action = Progression.

Progression = Happiness, Meaning, and Fulfillment.

Happiness, Meaning, and Fulfillment are feelings we all benefit from; therefore, Mindset and Action are of great importance.

We rarely WANT to go to the gym at the end of a long work day.  Waking up early for a brisk walk before we start our day can be a daunting task.  Sometimes it is easier to go through a drive-through for fast food, rather than using the time and expending the energy to prepare a healthy meal.  We may be exhausted.  When we just do it, regardless, and force ourselves to take action and do these hard things anyway, no matter how depleted we feel, we usually don’t regret making the decisions that are in alignment with what we believe.  We don’t hold space for regret and self-loathing towards ourselves after making what we perceive to be good decisions.  Doing things we don’t particularly feel like doing, but that we know are the optimal things for us to do, usually benefits us in many ways-sometimes in ways we don’t even realize.

REMAIN RELENTLESS.  PRACTICE PERSISTENCE.

I think that choosing not to beat ourselves up if we DON’T do the most optimal things for ourselves at all times is ALSO of great importance, as how we feel consistently creates the chemical cocktails that will interact with anything and everything we do and ingest, ALSO telling our bodies how to repair, and also sending out the magnetic pulses of how we feel to give information of what people, situations, circumstances, and things to attract back to us.

DOING, THINKING, and FEELING, in the most optimal ways possible, AT ALL TIMES, is a great way to consistently re-create the life and personal reality of our dreams.

We build up momentum with these good decisions and acting upon them consistently.  We feel a sense of pride, accomplishment, and a higher level of progress.  All of these things naturally lead to a higher level of self-esteem, and we see ourselves as even better than we were at whatever we do.

Sometimes, even though I know I will regret it the next day, I make a decision to go to a donut shop or to eat poorly at a family gathering.  These decisions are usually made when I am so tired that I am not thinking straight or in physical pain.  I revert back to the old ways of comfort acquisition, and eat the comfort foods.  The next day, I do regret it.  The way it makes me feel physically and emotionally is never worth it, but instead of beating myself up about it, I recommit.  I look at it as it is, rather than letting this one less optimal decision define me.  It is a reminder of what I want to accomplish and who I want to be, and because I know that this decision, which was hastily made in a moment of extreme exhaustion and physical pain, will not help me do and be those things, I recommit to the things which WILL help and empower me.  Sometimes, bad decisions and their outcomes or results are a great tool we can use for awareness, and to remind us of where we were, and to take better care of ourselves so that we are not triggered, and slip into old, familiar, destructive patterns.

When we don’t do anything, nothing happens.  Benefits and growth are rarely a result.  Value is rarely added.  Progression is less likely to be experienced.  We are always either progressing or regressing.  Which one would you rather experience today?  It’s up to us!  When we do the hard things today, we experience even more enjoyment in life later, as a natural bi-product.  When we always choose the easy things, life tends to become more difficult and challenging.

Today I will take action that is in alignment with what I believe, and I will be proud of it.  I will JUST DO IT, and I will not beat myself up for the decisions I make that are NOT in alignment with who and where I want to be, realizing the importance of HOW I FEEL. I will remember that what I feel constantly re-creates everything in alignment with how I feel.  I will look at poor decisions as reminders of where I no longer am and do not want to revert back to, and I will recommit.

Remember:  Mindset matters.  Character counts.  That which we choose to consistently focus on is what EXPANDS in our lives.  WE CREATE our realities.
