May 30: I Think I Can

Living with optimism and grit is a choice, until these characteristics and traits become a habit.  We have all heard the story of the little engine that could.  If not, or if you would like a reminder of the wonderful classic story, look it up on YouTube.

The main idea behind the story is that no matter how small, weak, or inexperienced we may be, we are capable of doing anything we put our minds to.  The only limitations we have are the ones we place upon ourselves.  MOST of our limitations only exist in our minds.  We can.

There is no, “I can’t.”  There is only, “I will”, or “I will not.”  The choice is ours.

Failing does not come from not succeeding at something we try to do.  True failure comes when we don’t try or when we stop trying, and begin creating and focusing on excuses.  Excuses are the true killer of human potential.

What is just one thing you want to change, improve upon, learn, or do in your life that you have chosen not to do up until this point?   Big or small, is it time to start?  Is it time to push and challenge yourself to do that one thing?  Tomorrow is promised to no person.

We can all choose to adopt the mindset of, “I think I can.”  If something is important enough to us, we will do anything to get it done.  We will do the work.  We will do the research.  We will do the reading and studying.  We will acquire the skills, the strength, the wisdom, and the experience necessary to make it happen.  We will not give up or relent.  We will prove how important something is to us with our actions.  Results don’t lie.

Today, I will.

Remember:  Mindset matters.  Character counts.  That which we choose to consistently focus on is what EXPANDS in our lives.  WE CREATE our personal realities.
