October 17: Neglect

Neglect is an interesting thing.  It is so easy to neglect doing easy things.  It is so easy to neglect taking action.  While striving to achieve a balance in our lives, it is easy to neglect one area while we focus on another.  It is important to have and keep a good perspective.  Listening to ANY content by Jim Rohn on YouTube video helps me to keep things in perspective, and motivates me to keep pushing forward, no matter what.  I wish I would have known about Jim Rohn and his teachings as a small child, and that I would have listened to it daily.  Jim Rohn describes neglect perfectly.

Neglecting the easy things in life is easy to do.  It is even EASIER to neglect the HARD things, but when we make it a point to do the hard things, on a regular and consistent basis, we get stronger much more quickly!  We acquire skills at a much faster rate.  We become a better version of ourselves much sooner.

The truth I have learned about neglect is this: What we neglect what we DON’T want to experienced more of through a lack of focus and attention, it weakens, while what we DO focus on and pay attention to STRENGTHENS.  I have found it INCREDIBLY useful to focus ONLY on what we DO want more of, while neglecting and ignoring all else.

Today I will do my best.  I will keep things in perspective.  I will not neglect that which is important to me.

Remember:  Mindset matters.  Character counts.  That which we choose to consistently focus on is what EXPANDS in our lives.  WE CREATE our personal realities.
